He's an alien, so they didn't have to make him an old man if they didn't want to. I would have preferred if he was just down on his luck do to the Empire making piracy more difficult. Instead of making him out to be some kinda has-been.

I thought Hondo was kinda older back in the Clone Wars anyway. But we also don't know jack about most species in the Galaxy.

It's not like he's a clone and would have aged 30 years in the last 15 though. The clones should ha used time dilation to their advantage, I guess.

I thought they portrayed him with a nice balance of slightly over the hill, but still enough wits to get by. He's surviving by the seat of his pants more these days, but still surviving. People (and aliens) grow old, and while some aspects of their character decline, others improve. It's part of life.

He had a ton of great lines, and many of them did have elements of his age thrown in for believability.

Didn't love the visuals for him though, both outfit and chin-horns. But whatever.

I was wondering if he majority of humanoid and near human species age close to humans...we don't know much about lifespans of aliens other than wookiees and what ever Yoda is (mogwai/gremlin?) living for hundreds of years...I bet Ithorians are long lived as well. I wonder how long Gungans live...

Those aren't e-11s tho. I guess JJ couldn't resist one of the oldest Hollywood tropes of loud weapons, especially guns. I guess they got make power up noises cause they can't be cocked.

The biggest differences are some have fixed stocks now, the scopes are different the colours are different and the magazine feed has been reversed.

There were big differences between ESB E-11s and ANH E-11s too, notably that the ESB variant lacked the ammo counter, but had a few extra greeblies above the handle.

With Halcon over last weekend i spent near three full days in white, with an orange pauldron, and an ANH variant E-11 holstered at my side.

I've learned more about differences in stormtrooper armour and E-11s these last couple months than... ever.

Currently Wave 8 and a DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle are in an argument over who gets my credit card. and all I can think of is rivets vs doublescrews for attaching a holster to a kidney plate, as it gives too much pull on the belt - which came stock with my armour but I am looking at replacing with something more screen accurate.

And then modifying my thigh plates to shorten the lower end - and using longer straps connecting the thigh plates to the kidney plates, so that sitting down might become a thing, as well as stairs.

... and then doing up a heavy weapon trooper backpack...

Costuming/trooping is addictive guys. I need help.
