It would seem to be that the evil win at all costs Empire would discriminate based on talent. If one of the requirements to be a Stormtrooper is 10 pull ups and only 1% of human females can do that then only 1% of human women would be capable of becoming a Stormtrooper. If a women can pilot a TIE better than 99% of men then she's an Ace pilot. Discrimination doesn't have to be socially based.
STAR WARS: REBELS Discussion Thread!
As to wookipedia, much of it is circumspect, due to its nature of anyone being able to write for it.
Yes, which is why I only tend to quote it when it specifies it's sources.
That, by the way was a really, really good read and I need to read that book now.
Is that a new model of Imperial Shuttle, or is that just what a Sentinel landing craft looks like in Rebels?
I'm assuming the latter.
Just a Sentinel.
Looks good. Though it's an odd choice to dedicate an entire landing craft to transport one dude.
At this point, I really want to see what the canon method is for transporting AT-ATs to the surface of a planet are.
There have been landing barges for them in the past, but those are all EU ships. I'm eager to see what the "real" method is going to be.
With the way AT-STs are carried in by Gozanti's, I'm curious if they'll just hang off the bottom of a larger ship like that.
Edited by DarthEnderXI feel as if a million obesity jokes suddenly appeared in my head and I have to abruptly silence them.
Edited by DariusAPBReally liked last night's episode.
However, my one gripe is that it's just so contrived at times. I guess it's because the show has established itself as "NOT just a kid's show", so I expect more adult reasoning and decision making from it. I'm talking specifically about how Agent Kallus has a chance to orbitally bombard the group, but says "No, lets go down on to the planet instead". You are trying to shoot them with 3 AT-ATs, trying like hell to blow them up.... but instead of doing it from orbit you want to do it where they can shoot back at you? And they had 4 TIEs flying around, where did the other 3 go? Once the first TIE found them, the other shoudl have converged.
Basically, the other 3 TIE pilots were dumb and apparently went back to the ship once shots were fired... and Agent Kallus was a complete moron by refusing to kill the group. It was the equivalent of a Bond villain leaving 007 alone in a room with a slow moving machine that woudl kill him unless he escaped - then nobody sticks around to supervise.
That being said, I did enjoy everything ELSE about the episode. My favorite part was when Rex looked up at Kaanan and Ezra, "Just like old times!" - I got a little emotional.
Remember, Vader wants them alive. Also, Kallus is sort of a hands on sort of guy.
One could also consider the dialog between Kallus and Rex; specifically talking about a better class of trooper. Kallus could have let his hubris show and ve trying to show up Rex and company.
Vader is 90% of why the evil overlord list was written I swear to god...
From the list:
78: I will not tell my Legions of Terror "And he must be taken alive!" The command will be "And try to take him alive if it is reasonably practical."
Link in the off chance people haven't read this old internet gem. http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html
I'm assuming the other three TIEs flew different search patterns and weren't in the area.
Nah, he didn't have the points left over to field them in that scenario.
Man, AT-ATs must cost alot.
He most definitely wanted to *****-slap those upstart clones himself. Also there was a chance to get hands on one or two jedis (so yet another promotion) which he knew would be affiliated with the Phantom. He also went down there by assuming he had air superiority due to the Relentless orbiting the spot. Strategically and tactically he didn't do anything wrong.
Only his gunner must have taken some slow-mo-pills once they had the AT-TE in a direct lock-down and Rex in his sights.
If Vader wouldn't have such a fierce reputation to discipline his subordinates not following his given orders and Cassius wouldn't be such a "by the book"-type commander, the clones (and rebels) wouldn't have stood a chance against the imperial combined forces...
Edited by John TenzerEdited by zathras23as for the AT-TE VS. AT-AT or whatever the hell those were , wow.
Those look like they were based on one of Joe Johnston's original AT-AT designs (as seen in the old Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook):
I'm loving how both this and The Force Awakens are mining all the conceptual material to give things a familiar yet different feel.
Well, yeah.
I know that. I've been on top of the RMQ aesthetic of this show for a long time.
I'm simply asking what their designation is.
Loved this ep.
Last week was the Jaws episode, this week was Wrath of Khan. Even down to them slowing outside the storm and Callus ordering them to go in full speed.

All Terrain Armored Transport. As for the specific model number? No idea.

Here's why I don't buy that he was "Trying to take them alive". He had 3 AT-ATs shooting at them. When you are trying to take someone alive, you don't shoot at them with a single AT-AT, let alone 3. He was trying to blow them into tiny little pieces, and he COULD have done that from orbit.
Again I love the show and loved the episode... just being nitpicky for the sake of boredom. It's still a relatively well written show and it's probably my favorite thing to watch up until Game of Thrones comes back on... so I'm not trying to be mean... it's just that one part. I view Kallus as being more competent than that.
Pretty certain the AT-TE would've handled being shot at by the AT-ATs more than a Star Destroyer. Yeah, not everyone was likely to survive the AT-AT assault, but there would still be survivors. And to be fair, Kallus was doing a fair job. Hard to account for Jedi.
Apologies if answered elsewhere but I want to avoid spoilers if possible. Are the two episodes from season 2 (Lost Commanders and Relics) the Siege of Lothal split into two parts or are they separate episodes entirely.
In other words can I just buy a season pass from Amazon or do I need to pay an extra $6!! for one (longer) episode.
