1. Put yourself into the mind of an Imperial official. Who are you? Planetary governor? Moff? Storm Trooper? Ok good, you have finished step one! Now imagine the following scenario
2. The area in which you are stationed is holding a parade to celebrate the work of the local population in their development of a new TIE Fighter.
3. In the middle of the celebration, the new TIE Fighter that was on display is bombed. It explodes into thousands of pieces, flinging shrapnel into the nearby area.
4. There is screaming and panicking from the gathered crowd, many of whom are people who work in the TIE factory.
5. A retired pilot, who was hired as your test pilot to demonstrate the abilities of the new TIE for the gathered crowd, was killed in the explosion as it was getting ready to take off.
6. The grounds crew who was finishing the final preparations for the demonstration, all people who worked in the factory, were also killed or seriously wounded in the explosion.
7. You catch sight of the bomber and give chase with a squad of men.
8. During the pursuit, half of the men you are leading are gunned down and the rebel eventually makes his escape.
9. A short while after the blast, a holo-communication goes out from this group claiming to fight for this "Rebel Alliance". They claim responsibility for the attack and urge the people of your region to rise up against the Empire.

Would you not view that as a terrorist attack? From an Imperial point of view , that is EXACTLY what it is.

Or I can phrase it another way. The Rebels are to the Empire as the IRA was to the British Government. As had been said, "One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist."

What it all comes down to is that you are taking a discussion on a fictional universe with good and evil laser sword wielding space wizards waaaaaaaaay to seriously. As I stated, I always found the Empire and the Dark Side to be a more interesting aspect of the Star Wars universe. I am entitled to my opinion, as are you. My opinion just happens to look at the way the rebels acted in this series and liken their actions to that of terrorist groups.

I'm still trying to figure out what motivated Admirals harkov and Zaarin to turn against the empire and gain anything worth enough to justify the risk. Harmov joining the rebellion seemed to have been for money for some reason...which I guess he did because he couldn't get fat payments off selling TIE Avengers to the imperial star fleet. But joining a rebellion for money, especially after a crushing defeat like Hoth, I don't get it. At lest Zaarin saw an opportunity in trying to become a warlord I his own private empire, but he should have waited till after Endor to do something like that.

But I don't get it, I thought admirals had plenty of prastige and power, why throw that away for rebellion/treason when you aren't motivated by disgust of the Empire's brutal tactics of controlling the populace. Those guys were messed up in the head.

If I remember correctly the Order told Maarek Steele that Harkov murdered Admiral Mordon, Stele's mentor, because Mordon was investigating suspected treason within the navy and Harkov was worried that Mordon was closing in on his illegal activities. The money also would make for a nice cover for everybody. It allows the Empire to keep from appearing to be so corrupt that one of their most trusted, capable Admirals has fingers in many illicit pies, it perversely protects Harkov's reputation in the process, and keeps the rebels from looking like they're recruiting people who aren't just criminals but thoroughly morally compromised.

I would guess that it's all an outgrowth of Palpatine's Sithy-ness and the means by which he selects officers for the admiralty: Making everybody plot and plan and scheme and eventually stab each other in the back. Unfortunately, for the Empire, some of these people decide to screw the entire Empire over.

In Zaarin's case, it's possible that agents of the ISB and/or Inquisition were closing in on him and he decided to strike first, rather than wait for the Empire to make the first move.

Not that it matters at this point, as it's all Legends anyway.

As for Siege of Lothal, I enjoyed it. First off I have to accept I am an adult watching a kids programme. It's not aimed at me so I have to take it for what it is. I would absolutely love a genuinely 'dark' Star Wars but I don't think that's likely and certainly not going to be in a cartoon.

I thought Vader was well portrayed. Nothing the good guys had was an answer to him and he is shown to be what we always hear him to be. A near unstoppable force user of great power, skill and intelligence. Just surviving and escaping is a huge win for Ezra and Kanan. We know they can't win.

He succeeds in his intentions to drive the rebel presence from Lothal and would have basically ended the show entirely if it wasn't for the plot armour provided by incompetent underlings.

A Big Bad who we now know far outmatched our heroes and who, if he were to focus on the crew of the Ghost would surely win. Fortunately for our 'story' he has other concerns too he needs to deal with and leaves these Rebels to his massive force of mooks. These get to show the heroes aren't just losers, thus making the big bad all the more impressive. With no knowledge of the survival of these guys we get a suitable sense of danger when Vader appears.

That this is achieved in a kids programme is quite impressive for me.

That's what I keep wondering myself. Why would you post in a threat about a show that, from all of the evidence given, you hate to the very core of your being? It seems to me that she didn't really fall to the Dark Side. Not until the very end of TCW, anyway, when she fought Anakin.

I mean, if she did, if there was a dark Jedi - a padawan, at that - inhabiting the Jedi Temple, then then Jedi Order was even more crippled than previously believed. How long could one serve the Dark Side and maintain the façade of being a true and noble Jedi? And if this were possible, why wouldn't Palpatine (and Dooku) weave dark side converts into the Jedi Order and subvert it through infiltration and coup rather than outright destroying it?

It does seem evident that the Jedi Order was losing control over their members as I can think of at least three Jedi in TCW who dabbled with or fell to the Dark Side over the course of the series. And one - General Krell - does seem to have been trying to operate under the cover of a true Jedi while having fallen to the Dark Side and apparently serving the will of Darth Sidious and/or Tyrannus. Although it seems that Krell's self-control was rather poor and he couldn't help but not very properly pretend to behave in anyway but as a budding Sith Lord.
