By "boat" do they mean a single guy walking across the world, carrying Rebel Aces?

By zlynn22, in X-Wing

I rubbed them boxes on my face as a dog would pee on car wheels! Haha

I think it's ffg not showing any favoritism to he rebels. And since imperial aces took something like 11 months from the announcement, they have to stretch out the rebels.

Its an RC boat that can only carry 1 box at a time lol.

And some 12 yr old is driving it.

that is why I still think releasing something at a con for the lucky few who can go is BS, you neglect the rest of your fan base. it really turns me off,

by the time we get wave 5, some people will have had the f'n ships for months.

don't give me that BS that they deserve it cause they went to the con. the **** product was ready for release at that point. the rest of us should have been able to get what these people got within weeks of the con.

I had no criticism of FFG until this crap.

IMO this is a horrible injustice to the gamers who support your games.

...what? It's not a con-exclusive like some other companies; we will get our ships eventually. That we have to wait a month or two extra is no injustice. People pay hundreds of dollars to get to cons precisely for benefits like this. Let them get their money's worth. I agree that con exclusives are irritating (though even that doesn't seem unjust), but this is fine.

More than fine, even, since it's part of their (effective) marketing. People playing with their plastic toys before you makes you want yours sooner. Good job, FFG.

If you zoom in a lot, I think you can see some Aces packs falling out of the starboardmost red container...

I DONT KNOW, MAYBE ITS THE FRUSTRATION OF HAVING TO WAIT FOR MY ROBOTECH KICKSTARTER STUFF TO ARRIVE,

and that when I finally get my stuff, I still need to wait for wave 2 of the kick starter before I get it all, and that doesn't even have an estimated finish date.

so I have been waiting for **** all over and I m just frustrated, sorry for burdening you all with my plight.

Don't be ridiculous how can he walk across an ocean, my god man!

He is swimming of course

unfortunately google maps doesnt do the 'swim across the ocean' directions any more :(

So you're saying the poor guy's LOST, TOO????

How is some players having a product a couple of months ahead of time an injustice? I mean honestly in what way does it even effect you?

the **** product was ready for release at that point. the rest of us should have been able to get what these people got within weeks of the con.

No it wasn't.

What was ready was a small batch of product that they had shipped here by air, at I'm sure quite a great expense compared to by boat, so they could sell the product at Gencon for the same price they charge normal retail. That means they made less money over all.

Not sure if you and others just don't get how manufacturing works or what. But it's not like the make all the ships at once, then paint them all at once... They make the ships and pass what they have to the painters as soon as they're ready. Then get sent thought the packaging process, and finally sit in some warehouse somewhere until the lot is ready to ship.

Just because they had ships in stock at GenCon does not mean that they have enough product for general release.

That all said I do get your frustration at not having the product in our hands yet.

And your source is? Pure conjecture.

FFG is intentionally delaying the release of the product to a date when they can release it world-wide simultaneously in the ordered quantities. I suspect there will be massive angry cries of favouritism if one region gets them earlier than another (in particular the Murican's) and they want to be above criticism as well as to prevent cross-region selling. They also have selling agreements with the various regional distributors which they have to adhere to, one of which prohibits releasing product in one area before another.

The distribution system is a lot more complex and Byzantine than people understand or give credit for.

'On the Boat' is a metaphor for saying 'We're not ready to release it worldwide yet.' There had already been a prior wave shipped into the US and that's where the GenCon stock came from.

Not too long ago people were saying 'SLOW DOWN RELEASES!!' It's also possible that they want to shift what remaining Wave 4 and Epic Ship stock they have before releasing new things to buy; Sales of current waves drop off predictably when new stuff comes out.

Also, re: the Wizkids comparison- don't ever open your filthy mouth again or I will hunt you down and force you to play draft Heroclix and Starship Battles.

Aces not here, NHL 15 is terrible, I smell like bojangles biscuits and I have not eaten one in weeks

Today is sadness.

This whole process would go a whole lot smoother if everyone realized that international production, shipping and distribution is far, far more of an art than a science.

Bologna! With enough money you can solve any problem instantly! Throw a ton of money at Fedex and they will guarantee overnight delivery to my LFGS! Have 18 tons of plastic space toys you need delivered from China and want it available on September 12th? Done and done!

Like they did in the midwestern US a few weeks ago (GenCon)?

Wow, and you ask for my source...

Mine is from working in a manufacturing environment and basic common sense. No company that stays in business sits on product it can be selling. Because sitting on product costs them money.

But please, feel free to provide proof of your statement. I freely admit I have none, but my statement at least logical, which is far, far more then I can say for yours.

So either provide a source and proof, or else you are simply spinning conspiracy theories.

What is conjecture?

My source is the FFG produced videos that were put up during Gencon. In the video, as they're touring the store, they say literally, "We had these air delivered just for Gencon".

The rest needed to finish production, get put on a boat, and then will get sold.

Hey! On the bright side, over here in the good ol US of A, I hear we're going to launch bomb strikes into Syria and give a bunch of Syrian rebels guns and training and hope nothing bad happens from it. Always a good idea to spend millions arming someone who may one day turn on you, then pray it all works out well. Perhaps with all the troubles in the middle east, that boat its on got stuck there and we need to send in special forces to get them out. We can rescue Reb Aces with just air power alone people.

We'll save them with a coalition of the willing, I hear Estonia is on board.

Too late AA; we already supplied ISIS/ISOL/whatever they are today.

Of all the places we've gotten ourselves involved in the Middle East, Syria is (or was) the one most deserving of outside support.

Seriously, where are my aces? They've announced so many things and they're not here it's hardly even exciting anymore.

Also didn't they shift at one point from the yellow "on the boat" to the green "available soon"? Now it's back to yellow "on the boat."

Those huge container ships are a real B!!ch to row, especially with a Cyclone down past Gulf of California...Haven't you seen waterworld?

Not always. Customs officials are more than happy to throw a spanner in those works. See Robotech RPG Tactics for a classic example and much lols.

That was half year ago. I guess you delivered this post in the same boat as FFG releases their waves ?

Container ship? I think they set sail in a Junk.
