By "boat" do they mean a single guy walking across the world, carrying Rebel Aces?

By zlynn22, in X-Wing

I think their boat, is less of a boat, and more of a raft, thatched with long strands of chest hair binding together many sea turtles, placing the products on top of them, and sending them on their way with a gods speed given.

I get the have patience, and trust me, I do, but they need to hang off on giving dates unless they know for sure when it'll be released. As of now, we're still hoping the 26th is when it may drop. Which would get it in just under the wire of Q 3 and wave 5 then late.

This whole process would go a whole lot smoother if everyone realized that international production, shipping and distribution is far, far more of an art than a science.

Would anyone pay more for fantasy flight to produce them state side? We would get them faster possibly. /starts chanting USA USA

So you'd be willing to pay say... $40 per small ship then (randomly picking a number out of absolutely nowhere)?

I can only picture someone like the Olympics torch bearer running here in slow motion, with the music going, but instead of having a torch it is a box of Rebel Aces.

Hey, be thankful. How many of you backed Palladium's Robotech on Kickstarter? You wanna be dealing with those pushbacks?

Yeahdidn'tthinkso.

You guys heard of the Silk Road right?

Silly forum goers. It's obviously on a pack of camels crossing the desert as we speak..... And then cross the OTHER ocean by boat.

Seriously, where are my aces? They've announced so many things and they're not here it's hardly even exciting anymore. Also didn't they shift at one point from the yellow "on the boat" to the green "available soon"? Now it's back to yellow "on the boat."

Don't be ridiculous how can he walk across an ocean, my god man!

He is swimming of course

"Anytime now... It'll be here anytime now..."

*repeat to self*

Very true, and like I said before, ffg, doesn't have near the money to keep the kind of supply chain a company like Wal Mart does.

No, $15 a model has me stressed enough, it really pushes the limit of what I am willing to spend. If you didn't need so few models, or if the game wasn't the best thing out there, I wouldnt pay.

The boat had to turn around, Farlander was too OP.

I think its all part of the marketing. Everyone gets in a big hype over the delayed release dates, but we all just end up that much happier when we do finally get them. FFG, you sly dogs.

For all the WOTC smashing I've seen on these forums, you know what they do RIGHT?!

REALEASE DATES! They spoil a product, have a scheduled prerelease date that anyone and everyone has access too, then have a specific release date the next week!

After that, they spoil more product and continue on in that exact order. No guessing games and no spoilers on top of spoilers and "quarterly guessing games."

Hold up now... we ain't religious here, we need (and have) facts.

So don't go to far down that WK love path, because they are absolutely lousy at keeping established products in regular stock. The Klingon K-BOP, Federation Reliant, Defiant, and Excelsior, are almost always out of stock.

You see them restock and in a week they are gone. They are available at Amozon for an inflated price more often than they are at the good shops like MM and CS.

That is like FFG having Tie Fighters and X-Wings availiable one week out of five... all the **** time!

We got 'em in fresh this week guys, we got 'em!

BOOM-Sold out in a week!!!

Waiting... waiting... waiting... waiting... we got 'em guys! -sold out- :o ALREADY?! waiting... waiting... waiting...

Fun fact: the Excelsior was named after the part of San Francisco that my family is from. It means "Ever Higher".

I love that wacky ship.

I got one one month... you know to be sure the hot wheels version was nice, and found out that it was, so I got another one the following month.

:P

I have two of them in me FED-fleet. Paid $25 buck for 'em.

Okay well here is my theory. FFG made a certain number of Rebel Aces models and packs. However the amount of orders and the number of packs they sold at Gen-con and Pax surpassed their estimates and they have to make more. They cannot ship partial orders (ie ship 5 packs when 7 were ordered) and they cannot show favoritism by shipping orders to one place before allowing the competing retailers access to the same product (ie giving Amazon their orders before Barnes & Nobles).

Long story short, they didn't think they would sell that many so now they are making more to match the demand.

They cannot ship partial orders (ie ship 5 packs when 7 were ordered)

Actually, they can and will, there is no reason not to do that. first come, first serve

and they cannot show favoritism by shipping orders to one place before allowing the competing retailers access to the same product (ie giving Amazon their orders before Barnes & Nobles).

Again, they certainly can and do (this has even been done before, when during the great wait of 2013/2014 amazon received a large badge)

Shipped by Kon Tiki.

that is why I still think releasing something at a con for the lucky few who can go is BS, you neglect the rest of your fan base. it really turns me off,

by the time we get wave 5, some people will have had the f'n ships for months.

don't give me that BS that they deserve it cause they went to the con. the **** product was ready for release at that point. the rest of us should have been able to get what these people got within weeks of the con.

I had no criticism of FFG until this crap.

IMO this is a horrible injustice to the gamers who support your games.

I can confirm this. The local store I get my ships from never get the entire order right away when a new wave is released. I believe they still have some wave 4 on order they have yet to receive. Then again, perhaps we Swedes aren't as highly prioritized as the rest of you on the other side of the puddle. ;)

Unless jar jar is on a gungan sub with them all. That obviously makes the most sense.

That would be super quick cos they'd go through the centre of the planet, wouldn't it?

Personally, I'd rather FFG didn't' post the spoilers until the product is less than a month away.

They did it to Wave 3 as well apparently.

Where's Batman when you need him?

Lol I dont't know which is more irritating. We have Rebel Aces all across the metro now but retailers said we can't purchase them till release date. I've held 3 boxes with my name on them but have to wait a week or so.. Haha so near yet so far!
