I don't agree that we need this, or that FFG should do it...

But I do get that there is some enjoyment in opening up a pack of MtG cards and discovering what's in it. Each pack had a thrill of the unknown, and the possibility of something uber in it. Then most times that crushing sense of "oh god another dark ritual, that's 36 of them now..."

It's a bit like how FFG spoils every single card for everything... I'd prefer it if they'd keep a couple even if it's only 1 or 2 unspoiled so there be a sense of discovery when you open the pack.

Plus, any good magic player knows not to be out buying booster packs. They buy singles of what they need and don't waste money on things like boosters/boxes, etc. Hence why this game is awesome, everyone has the same opportunity to buy exactly what they want and supply/demand doesn't affect the prices.

I feel the need to buy random cases. Why don't you sell a small random box that includes new pilot/ upgrades cards with a previously released ship that has an alternate paint scheme. Throw in maybe one or two power cards that will force fiends such as myself to buy ridiculously large amounts of boxed boosters . I know I know , you guys don't do the random thing........... START!

At the risk of coming off as a rectal sphincter, do you work for WotC? What good is there in random packs? Random packs were one of the main reasons I quit playing Magic. Get a case of boosters, and wind up with a stack of junk cards 9x the size of the stack of relatively useful cards. Thank you, no.

You want to make the game random and fun? Have a random build tournament. Pool pilot cards together (record who owns what), then draw Imperial or Rebel at random. Then shuffle the pilot cards, and draw until you want to stop. Then draw equipment at random, discarding stuff that doesn't apply to any ships you drew. Poof! Random!

Alternatively, you could do the same thing in a draft format, which would probably be much cooler.

Fair enough. My luck is such that I'd buy one of those packs, with all the anticipation of a 7-year old opening what has to be a box of Star Wars goodness, only to find it's a pack of Expose cards with a TIE Advanced that lacks any substantive improvements.

And yeah, I'm an active competitive magic player. I DO NOT BUY BOOSTERS and neither does anyone else I know. Sure, you might win some packs at a tourney and crack them, but I'd take store credit or something over boosters any day.

the blindfold in the FLGS suggestion is perfect, randomized boosters is a scam to get people to buy more to acquire what they want it isn't even remotely customer friendly.

I'm not saying only sell random packs! Keep things as they are but just have the random packs for fluff. They are like buying a lottery ticket. You win and you loose .... That's the fun part.
