I'm not advocating FFG drop their current model. I just thought it would be cool if they offered pack of new pilots and threw in a repaint.

I'd rather a repaint that was visible with a random card selection that wasnt... that wouldnt be so bad and would stop you ending up with dozens of the same card when bulking out a swarm.

ah loads of tables around the offices as some people took part in studio campaigns and you could leave stuff set up.

Most of us were just sick of seeing it day in and day out so playing pirates or battletech or rapid fire WWII was a nice distraction and meant you coudl at least feign enthusiasm about your own product when guests came round.

I'm probably being overly harsh here, we did all love the games and working there but you do need a break sometimes when it's your job and your hobby (and for a lot of people at Lenton) your social life as well.

Well i can understand that, say have you tried alpha strike the quicker version designed for bigger battles yet?

I dont play any 40k version made after 1990 anymore (well i play necromunda).

I feel the need to buy random cases. Why don't you sell a small random box that includes new pilot/ upgrades cards with a previously released ship that has an alternate paint scheme. Throw in maybe one or two power cards that will force fiends such as myself to buy ridiculously large amounts of boxed boosters . I know I know , you guys don't do the random thing........... START!

The lack of randomisation is (part of) what makes FFG great, and they aren't going to start because they hate that model too. If you really want the feel of a randomised X-wing whenever you buy a ship randomly select one, and make 90% of them TIE advanceds.

I'm not saying only sell random packs! Keep things as they are but just have the random packs for fluff. They are like buying a lottery ticket. You win and you loose .... That's the fun part.

It's unnecessarily expensive, you waste a lot of money on junk you don't want to get what you do, it creates a secondary market that rams up the price of being tournament competitive and completely destroys your ability to plan purchases. If this game were a CCG model I would not ever have started playing it.

I always hated the Battletech CCG. I really *wanted* to like it as i love battletech but it wasnt a great game and the true 'randomness' of the pack contents meant it was really hard/expensive to field a force you actually wantes/liked or was themed.

Quoting you to agree that i would not have touched Xwing if i had to buy blind (i've run out of my allotment of likes).

What pulled me into the game was seeing how well painted they were as prepaints tbh. I also like being able to look at four or five of a ship to check im not buying one with a misaligned decal or paint job.

I checked out five tantives before choosing mine.

Ugh the worst worst worst line in that movie! Vader wouldn't have squealed like a manly sound girl! He would have crushed the entire room with the force! Picked up the medical gurney and tossed or some such! What utter crap....I did enjoy seeing the death star at the end of that movie though. Now that I'm older...what was I thinking watching the prequels....*Collects self* back on topic, ummm no if I wanted random boosters I'd play heroclix again or MTG (but not likely as I hate that game).

As a Star Trek Attack Wing player, I can say with experience, that this is a very bad idea. There are already people leaving Attack Wing because of random ships and exclusives that they can't get. I'm thinking of dropping Attack Wing myself. It's just too frustrating to not being allowed to buy the ships and cards you want unless you pay ten times the price on evil-bay.

At the risk of coming off as a rectal sphincter, do you work for WotC? What good is there in random packs? Random packs were one of the main reasons I quit playing Magic. Get a case of boosters, and wind up with a stack of junk cards 9x the size of the stack of relatively useful cards. Thank you, no.
