Also... we now have a place for all of those "Old" and "rusty" and "outdated" prequel ships to go!
Ohohohohoho yeah. can't wait.

I posted the same thing in the prequel thread.
Considering that most if not all of the third faction ships were active or first created around the prequel era, they have no excuses now not to include some prequel ships.
Just waiting for the Uglies to pop up now.
I have to say, I was hoping for an Imperial huge ship, just to even out the sides a little.
The big redeeming factor I see in this is the Y-wing buffs. I seriously hope they make it more usable, because I, for one, love Y-wings. I don't hardly care about the rest, but will probably be picking it up so the collection stays complete.
Y-wings better get bombs/crew upgrades.
The new question is will Wave 6 be exclusive to the 3rd faction, or will we also see Imperial and Rebel ships as well?

I have a feeling that Rebel Aces and Wave 5 are the last rebel/imperial stuff we'll see for awhile, other than some stuff having crossover use like the y-wing/z-95 pack.
They were kinda getting tapped out on those two factions anyways, so now they can focus on the new faction for a little while. Obviously any upgrade cards that aren't third faction specific will get lots of use by rebs and imps.

My reading of it is Wave 6 is the "Most Wanted" set (2 x Z-95s, 1 x Y-Wing, new cards and cardboard for Slave-I and HWK-290)
then three more ships:
Star Viper, M3-A, and IG-2000.
And that's it. Nothing for Rebels or Imps (except upgrade cards, potentially crew, etc).

See, it's bittersweet. But... I think the whole two-ships-only-this-wave, Wave 5, should have been a warning of that.
But we're getting more anyway. It's interesting, and saddening at the same time. I don't think we'll see much more for the Rebels and Imperials after this.

I think part of the point of introducing the third faction is to allow them to slow the rate of introduction for new Rebel and Imperial content--not to stop it entirely.
It is possible that some of the new ships could be dual-faction, like if the IG-2000 were usable by the Imperials or S&V.
Y-WING ACES! YEEE HAAH!
Doesn't say anywhere that it is a third faction though. But if it is, dual faction ships are now a thing. An awesome, awesome Y-wing aces thing.
FFG, colour me impressed. Didn't think it was doable.
Edited by LagomorphiaGotta stall for REBELS and the New Trilogy stuff to come out... good way to do it that can also get some of that prequel stuff people are asking for...

Let's hope...as I states elsewhere the conversion packs are a good idea and leads me to believe the current factions will not stagnate. We may just get different faction versions of the same ship in some cases now. The power creep will simply need to be kept on check...which I have no doubt ffg can pull off. They have thus far.
Also, I like the precedent being established that they might introduce cards/tokens for an old ship in a new pack - I can hold out hope for a Chewbacca Lambda pilot and a Shuttle Tyderium title card.
Does the Y wing get a crew slot??? if not Y bother..lol

We'll see more, but not a hell of a whole lot.

hmm.. yes. I think FFG is trying to extend the lifeline of the game. I think i speak for us all when I say we'd all like to see this game keep releasing content for years and years to come.
You don't need new Rebel / Imperial SHIPs to get more Rebel/Imperial Content.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Y-Wing had lots of useful cards for either faction. Maybe a Bomb upgrade that would also be useful for the TIE Bomber?
There is virtually no limit to how many UPGRADE cards they can produce, but there IS a limit to how many SHIPs they can release, so this way they can really space out the ships, while piling on the upgrades. Everybody wins.
I'm wondering about the pilot cards for the Firespray and the HWK. Will they be exactly the same just "re-branded" for the S&V faction or will they alter the cost or ablilities? I can't imagine they would alter the stats of the ships but who knows.
Personally, I hope they stay exactly the same with the possible exception of giving Fett a new ability.

I expect new abilities for lots of cross over pilots!
I could also see a "Slave Transport" Firespray with some more shielding, 2 crew slots, and only 2 dice...be like the outer rim smuggler or something.
Depending on where they take 3rd faction design space they may have to recost ships to keep them from being too comboriffic. I'm ok with that.
I dunno, i dont need constant new stuff to keep me into a game.
a good game is a good game.
wave two of monopoly still hasnt come out and im still playing that occasionally.
I play loads of old games that have not been updated for years (rogue trader, necromunda, BFG) and they dont stop being good because you stop being punched in the wallet on a quaterly basis ![]()

Yeah this makes sense. Wave 7 can be 2 Neutrals, 1 Rebel, and 1 Imperial.
