The big question for me is will the Scum & Villainy faction be mercs like they were in the Star Wars minis game? If they are then we can have an Azameen Firespray pilot flying for the Rebels, maybe we'll get some more freighters like the Ghtroc flying space turtle which could give the Imps more turret options etc

A even bigger question is will we get a fourth and fifth faction and more? If not will we get subfaction upgrades so we can have pure ZC or Black Sun fleets?
Just an example the Zann Consortium could have a requirement that your fleet only have named bounty hunters, Star Vipers, Rihkxyrks, A/B/X/Y wings and TIE Fighter/Defenders/Interceptors. If so you can use Mr. Zann himself and have every ship upgraded with buzz droids.
They should do 1 point point of damage to unshielded ships the bump into.
Also, I like the precedent being established that they might introduce cards/tokens for an old ship in a new pack - I can hold out hope for a Chewbacca Lambda pilot and a Shuttle Tyderium title card.
No. Chewie flying the ship ONCE, and not even firing a shot, is not a reason to take an iconic imperial ship and hand it to the rebels. I'm sure EVERY ship has been flown by a faction at least once.
Just say NO to a rebel Tyderium.
Just say NO to a chewie driven AT-ST in any Star Wars ground combat game.
Just say NO to Chewie in general. He's busy playing Grand Theft Wookie while the galaxy is at war.
I don't think we need more scum factions. The entire "Scum and Villainy" faction isn't going to be Black Sun, that's just the theme they went with to start. The beauty of a "scum" faction is you can put in a ton of stuff that is cool, but not really worth having a full faction for.
The "Scum" faction acts as a wonderful "catch all" and really eliminates the need for more factions unless that faction is a major galactic power with it's own distinctive look and feel.
I doubt we'll see another faction myself unless there is one in the Sequel Era. Because they only need to hold out another year and a half till new ships start rolling in, and they have plenty of stuff now to release before then. After that it will go crazy, because we'll be getting a new movie every year, the Rebels series, and a ton of new novels, comics, and video games.
But for the next year and a half, it seems like FFG has everything they need.
I'm kind of "meh!" about the new faction - but updates to the Y-wing will be very welcome
please tell me that the new Y-wing will have a modification for a bomb slot
I don't know what they could do for a forth faction, vong were never that popular and they fly rocks, and other rebel force can be covered by s&v, chiss only have one fighter I know of.
There was that alien race that trapped souls into droid fighters but they were only in one book...
Not saying they can't just not sure what they'd choose.
On display!

What am I looking at exactly? I recognize the z95 and y wing. what are the rest?
The fighter from Intimidation is the one in front. The one at the back is the IG-2000, IG-88's ship. The starlike one is the StarViper. It's a heavy Mandalorian starfighter first used by Prince Xizor (the Virago) and also popular with criminal elements.
Edited by LagomorphiaStarviper is the x shaped one on the left, behind it is the bounty hunter vessel for ig88, in front is the scyk fighter.

Can this thread please stay reasonably confined to discussion of the actual Scum and Villainy faction, and put the homebrew elsewhere?
Has anyone seen the stats listed in the other thread? Someone took snaps of each screen at the panel. Just speculation other than that bcuz they're subject to change. Some of it is hard to make out, but it's interesting
IG2000
3/3/4/4 focus TL Boost Evade
Star Viper
3/3/4/1 Focus TL Boost Barrel Roll
M3-A Interceptor
2/3/2/1 Focus TL Barrel Roll Evade
Lots of agility in the new faction, and the IG2000 is going to be a beast to take down.

LETS GET SOME BOARDING PARTIES, TRACTOR BEAMS AND PRISONERS UP IN HERE!
And a chiss clawcraft with me as a pilot, that would be sweet.
Not sure how well a Grand Admiral would fit in with the scum of the galaxy though...

Unless you have members of an alien race you've ruined the planet of and forced into working for you for years serving as your personal bodyguards next to you on the bridge.
Then your pretty much screwed.
Anyone else noticed/cares that the S&V box logo is Mandalorian? Are the clans joining the fray?
(its probably just me isn't it)
Also I emailed FFG begging for a StarViper so you all have me to thank lol, just looking at it is making me wet! ![]()
Next on my list was the Skipray blastboat. Ya know it makes sense! ![]()

I wouldn't read too much into that. That symbol has been the defacto symbol for any bounty hunter/smuggler affiliation for quite awhile now. This has been especially true for FFG games.

I think Juggler already crunched the numbers to confirm that the IG-2000 is going to be the toughest ship in the game, before you consider the arc-dodging potential of the boost. Unless the dial is absolutely horrible it will be insanely good.
The Viper looks like what happens when you throw an X-wing and a Squint into a blender; relatively tough with great arc-dodging potential and high agility. Provided it has a decent dial it will be a hell of a ship.
The M3-A is basically the pirate answer to the TIE Fighter/Z-95 (which is strange, since they're actually getting their own Z-95s). Should be pretty cheap, but it will be interesting to see how it fairs given it will likely be in direct competition with the Z-95.
Next on my list was the Skipray blastboat. Ya know it makes sense!
Of course. Imperial/Fringe, 6 different pilots on 8 cards- 2 identical Imperial/Fringe version generics, then 2 Fringe and 2 Imperial named pilots, with the Fringe Ace as Mara Jade.

Almost always been used for the Fringe faction, although the StarViper is Mandalorian...

With those stats here's my first guess at cost. IG2000 is probably off, the system I use is only accurate (usually within 1-2 points) for smal and huge ships.Has anyone seen the stats listed in the other thread? That's pretty close to what I had been guessing actually. I'm not sure if they're going to actually come down at 12 points for the PS2 Scyk, simply because it seems objectively better than both the TIE and the Z95, but that might just be me. If they decide to go with an 11-point PS1 Z95 generic pilot, then 12 for a Scyk feels right, otherwise it feels a little too efficient. Unless they're compensating for not being able to field the TIE/ln as the Fringers!
The Star Viper at 25 sounds spot on, where you can just barely field four (like the Phantom) but it really isn't as good an idea as buffing three.
How did you arrive at 37 for the IG-2000? Don't get me wrong, it feels like it's right or very very close, but it's kind of funny that it's basically a Defender with both a Hull and Shield upgrade. Do you feel like the native Boost action and the large base cancel each other out? Or that the dial will have negative connotations?
I think the M3-A will have a cannon slot, and a dial closer to a TIE fighter/interceptor, which will be what distinguishes it from the Z95. It will be the first ship to gain a real benifit from the Autoblaster, and Ion cannon will be common too, but HLC may be seen by many as too high cost/risk for such an easily destroyed ship.
The Star Viper will be the S&V answer to the B-wing and TIE Defender, but with the maneuverability of an A-wing/Interceptor.
IG-2000 sounds like it may be a very different concept from what we've seen from large ships. It's the only one so far that was designed as a proper star fighter, so it should rival all the other in maneuverability, especially taking IG-88's personal modifications into consideration. My guess is it will utilise spending stress tokens and offer a wide range of secondary weapon slots.
