Being trolled by Geordan Builder?" Starviper Expansion??

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

Well, this squad builder has been right before and in early possession of news.

Xizor was close to the Emperor in his book, so an imperial allegiance would make the most sense rather than an unaffiliated third faction which could be used by either group.

I'm glad he thinks it's okay to call people names, accidentally or otherwise, and then blithely blow them off instead of acting like an adult.

I'm sure all the Jewish grandmas were shocked by reading that word.. lol..

I imagine most people don't appreciate being called stupid in any language, especially for not making the same asinine assumptions as we've seen this past day or two.

The fact that Blail Blerg happened to view the site he is bringing to our attention, while that sites owner was doing some updates, and that these updates included heretofore unreleased X-Wing Expansions; providing yet more visual verification with the card art from FFG: you must be a real schmuck to not admit that a new faction is coming!

That's kind of harsh, man.

Also, even if that site designer has some knowledge of what FFG plans to release, you're taking a leap saying it's a third faction ship rather than an imperial.

Not meaning to be harsh buddie, just gathering the visual verification that a new faction or new Pirate/Hutt ships are coming, which for the people like us that care will consider these new ships as the base for a third faction.

The ship was used by Pirates not unlike Z-95 Headhunters and so forth.

I'm glad he thinks it's okay to call people names, accidentally or otherwise, and then blithely blow them off instead of acting like an adult.

I call trolls trolls because they're trolls. You just called everyone who doesn't agree with your point of view an idiot. See the difference?

Me so evil... evil...eee-villl!!!

So, for all of you who grew up on Shadows, was it really all that good?

should I get over my old-man 'that ain't no Star Wars' knee-jerk reaction to the StarViper.

(Btw., yes it does look like something out of Babylon 5, a show I did love. But it ain't no Star Wars.)

I read the book once upon a time, and I can't remember a thing about it.

StarViper=1 word...

...Black Sun=2 words...

...1+2=3...

...third faction confirmed!

And Half Life 3.

Woah Woah Woah, not that fast cowboy.

We are still on the 21th century.

Well, calling people schmucks isn't exactly friendly, lol. But even if there is some visual hints, they only point to the possibility of a Starviper and a Scyk, but there's nothing to indicate they'll be for a new faction.

Cool Brother... just zap me if go to far off into crazy land.

;)

It is just silly to me to see people I have a lot in common with being cool normally but then they get so dead against a third faction when it is going to insure that our game continues to stick around.

I should think that it will make things better for you...

Nah... that wuz for you and you aloneies...

:(

I really dislike the idea of a pirate/crime/trader faction. As said before I do think it dilutes the nice polarization in the Empire vs. Rebellion -setting. Besides those factions are so small compared to the current factions that they would seem insignificant. Unless they implement some sort of "you may use this many points of either faction ships as you please"-rules in which case we are already close to the point where 40k is now. (Yes we have force organization limitations but if you want, just take what you want lol!!) :(

HOWEVER

I reserve the right to like or dislike the new faction IF one is added.

But that is not necessarily a true statement though, it could have wide and various effects. Not saying it WILL destroy the game, but that is something that could happen.. and the opposite is possible as well. I and a few others are just saying that we don't want it and it adds nothing to the game.

this game is about two sides duking it out. good guys vs bad guys. there is no need for a third faction at all. add in some new cool ships, but give them to the factions that exist and be done with it.

So not only are you too immature to realize that you used a pejorative, you also don't understand the concept of a blanket statement. Do you know the difference between a child and an adult, Joe? Adults know when they've done something wrong, even if they don't offer an apology for it.

it was fairly well written, and over all it was a decent read. it did have a couple issues I didn't care for, but I got over them. Xisor was a good badguy.

and we could get some cool new ships for the game

I wasn't a big fan, but I never played the game. The book was a bit of a mess to me, as much of the EU can be. There's stuff at the imperial court with the Emperor seemingly trying to play Xizor and Vader off of each other and Vader getting stuck in some political machinations which was very out of character for him. But at least we found out how Leia got her disguise to use at Jabba's palace, even if it was in a throwaway two lines near the end. I'm a bit vague tnough, it must've been a good 15 years since I read it at least.

Reminiscing about old sci-fi books, I can't help but think about Dune. Well, the first 6 anyways. The ones that matter.

Personally more partial to the Paul trilogy rather than the Leto/Duncan books but anything is better than what Brian did to his father's legacy. The concepts in Dune are so massive in scope that I was definitely too young when I read the first one for the first time to fully appreciate it.

But still petennial favourites and books I reread every couple of years. Just like, say, Cities in Flight or half the Heinleins.

Joe, you're starting to act like a petulant child. Don't respond or respond in words, you'll come across much more mature. You like to make broad boisterous posts and sometimes you step on toes when you do that. Accept that and acknowledge when you do so unintentionally.

I didn't particularly care for being called a schmuck myself.

I think I liked Messiah best myself. The Duncan arc was compelling (and let's be honest, who doesn't want to knock boots with hyper-sexual space nuns?) but nothing beats House Atreides' first triumphs on Arrakis.

G'night! Sometimes it's just best to step away from the keyboard, I must have trashed thousands of posts in my lifetime before posting them.

I suppose that beats trashing your keyboard.
