Even more Custom YT-1300's

By ZombieHedgehog, in X-Wing

You are going to rule the commerce lanes.

:D

I know, right? The other smugglers will have to pay him tribute for protection.

So, hedgehog. About this imperial customs corvette. What's your price for freedom? On the outer rim, one can buy a blind eye.

Are we going to let him buy us off cheap? I mean our Imperial Customs Officers are accustomed to a finer life style than these lowly smugglers, after all...

;)

When our mighty ships are out of dry-dock, there will be some new big kids on the block, and duties had best be up to date...or else!

It can get lonely on strange planets on the trade routes. A nice villa in the core systems would make inspections more "tolerable." When last I checked, Romulan ale was still illegal. Sometime customs ships travel in pairs. Inspections and duties can be... Costly.

^_^ Indeedie do...

I think it's going to take more than a couple of cutstoms corvettes to put a stop to my smuggling empire!!

With a few modifications I don't think your Imperial lackeys will stand a chance!!

Sic 'em Bolda!

Your competetors have been interested in opening new markets in your smuggling empire.

If you will not join the dark side, then perhaps they will. Customs officers always have interst in local relations. It would be a pitty if local factions became embroiled in conflict. We might have to get involved. ;)

:D

do you sell them? I would be interested, this is not a skill I have?

I got a YT specifically to do a remodeling of it to put the cockpit on the port side.. I'm hoping it turns out ok. I'll also remove the dish as it's not standard on YTs, that I know of.. it was an addition Han put on the Falcon..

Kinda reminds me of the Diligent from Wing Commander.

how do you get the edges so crisp and straight?

I've got to say I was really surprised to see a few new posts on here today.

egudmunson: I do convert YT's to sell, I have sold pretty much all of my conversions so far, apart from my YT-1200. I would happy to build another custom YT if you are interested, please PM me with what you were thinking for a conversion. I actually have a couple of falcons waiting to be converting, just been waiting to find some time to do it.

Oneway: It will be interesting to see the cockpit moved to the other side of the ship, please post some pics of your progress.

LukesFather: Straight edges come with time and practice, a sharp knife helps as well, atience is key really.

I'll hopefully be able to find some time and get to work on some new customs.

I will, I have eye surgery this week and about a month of healing to do, so maybe I can work on it finally, or.. maybe just soon will work.. lol.. I have what I need to do it so it's just a matter of sitting down and doing it, with only vision on one eye it throws my depth perception off, some of the recent repaints have needed.. touch up. lol.. with luck I can get er done..

ZH- I sent you a message about a commission. I am really impressed with your mdeling skillz. Nice work on these conversions!

Jeremy: It would take a bit of work but I can't see if being too much of a job to do. I think I'd quite like to convert one now. Once I've got some commissions out of the way I think I'll get back to work on my Smuggler's Alliance and get a few Variant YT's together.

BorderGuy: Thanks, I have received your message, should be able to put together the YT you would like pretty quickly.

Well I found a falcon model laying around and wanted to get in to customising.

I went for something a little different with this conversion by having a windowed area where the dish normally is, thinking. That this could be a YT-1300 modified more towards transporting passengers more so than cargo

Not 100% on where to go with the paint scheme, just need to finish off the base colour first but I was thinking of a red pattern on the top of the ship.

Are you going to fix the Flacon's damage and missing body panels?

I've actually left the panels open with this one, nothing too drastic after getting back in to things.

I hope to start another custom soon as per the photo posted earlier, going to take a bit more work though.

My smugglers alliance will be back on track soon, should hopefully be attending a tournament on Saturday so will be spending time trying to get a list together and maybe some testing if I'm lucky.

Managed to get the latest falcon painted and is now on ebay:

I went for a not as clean scheme compared to previous customs. I also tried a different pattern on top for a change than painted panels:

I've started work on another custom falcon and hope to get some progress photos posted on here later.

I've really enjoyed getting back into building custom miniatures. I'm planning on putting together another YT model soon, I was thinking about a YT-1250.

I really like that paint scheme. I might just have to use it as inspiration for my YT repaint.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a link to your Ebay store so we can check them out? How much do you charge for your work??

I too would love to see this

- always been in love with it ever since I saw it in the old WEG RPG. Something about that cockpit - centered, raised above the mandibles, and I like the shape of it. It's a little more rounded than the Falcons cockpit, more like a B-wing. The whole ship just screams Hot-Rod to me.

Nice conversion.

Papamanbo, that model look really sweet, which kind of yt is it? or isn't a yt?

This is the Grand Prize for a local Store Championship this weekend. And I want it.

If I remember correctly, it is just a YT-1300 (heavily modified however). I'll have to dig through my old sourcebooks, as I can't remember exactly which book it is in (stock ships or trampfreighters maybe??) Or it might be in one of the old Adventure Journals. There were tonnes of very cool ships in those books.

The thing about the Falcon was that it was a heavily modified YT-1300 that was purposely modified to NOT look modified. That generally made it much less of a target for Pirates or Customs Agents (Imperial, CSA or otherwise).

Let me try and find some more info on the ship and I'll let you know what I come up with..
