Compiled Resources List

By Nate, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Bobmoranne,

Thanks for sharing that. I put it toward the bottom of the list with the other foreign-language resources.

Hey. So the link for the expanded starship repair rules has gone down. I was wondering if anyone has a copy or another link so I can view that information for an upcoming session. Thanks.

I didn't see these listed. The books The Jedi Path, Book of the Sith, The Bounty Hunter's Code and the just released Imperial Handbook - A Commanders Guide. I have the Imperial Handbook and the Bounty Hunter's Code. They have quite a bit of info for both the player and GM for any Star Wars RPG. They can be found at your local bookstore or on-line.

Apparently, those are all declared to be “Legends” now, and even if they were Canon, they’re not produced by FFG or for the game that FFG created.

So, potentially interesting/useful non-canon references, yes. Belongs in this thread? Maybe.

EDIT: Please note, we do actually use these books in the games I’m involved in, and if it were up to me then these would definitely be considered to be Canon. But it’s not up to me.

Well, since the Bounty Hunters Code is the closest thing we've got to a Bounty Hunter sourcebook right now, I'd say they fit.

Also, there's links to WEG productions converted to FFG systems here, so they have about as much validity as those do, since the WEG products are neither canon, nor produced by FFG or for the FFG system.

Sure, they're converted, but then the books he listed are just background and sourcebooks, not any kind of rules, so they don't "need" converting.

Wow. That would be such an amazing prop to present to my players (who I'm certain have no idea such a thing exists). Sadly now we can no longer play in persona nd have to play online it wouldn't work. But I'd love ot hear of the player reactions if any GM ever presents one of these to their players as an in-game artefact and let them open it up.

The guys at my FLGS really liked the ones I brought in. That’s the kind of thing I would want to see on permanent display at the store, the problem is that the mechanisms would break inside of one or two days. And then it’s an expensive door stop.

That I can believe. But I like bringing real props into my games. At the end of a D&D game where the players were given a chest of gold by a golden dragon, I rewarded my players with an actual wooden treasure chest full of chocolate gold coins. They were very impressed and more excited than 30 year olds have any right to be. I've also given them weathered maps I've made and similar. I had already been thinking if any or my EotE players became a force user I might end up giving them the Jedi Path book as it's already designed an presented as an in-universe artefact.

Only problem with them and FFG Star Wars is that they're written (or rather, the comments made by different in-universe characters are written) after the events of EP VI, so they don't really fit the timeline.

Only the annotations, and only a problem if they sit there and read it at the table... which wouldn't be a great game experience for everyone else. Would work great as a prop, and then you just summarise the contents and game effects of finding it for the player in game.

So, bizarrely, one of my players has just acquired a copy of this book in-game. He asked to spend a few days in an underground market searching for anything about the Jedi or that might help him learn how to fight with a lightsaber. I said ok, roll Negotiation or Streetwise (this being an illegal market I figured it was one and the same). Either way it's just 2 green for him. I set the difficulty at 5 purple as these things should be super hard to find just by looking in shops. 1 success and 3 threats. O_o

So, somewhat caught on the spot, I grabbed my copy from the nearby shelf and now he has a copy of The Jedi Path and thus has "unlocked" the Specializations from Force and Destiny. Now he's teaching himself basic Lightsaber forms and started buying into Shi-Cho Knight spec (he's not a force user though). Shame that someone reported to the Imperials that a Wookie was asking after Jedi artefacts and give his description and that of his ship...

That's a good idea, RusakRakesh; thanks.

I used this for my last campaign awhile back, and am currently writing a new one where I'd love to use it, but the links are broken now :( . Does anyone know where I can find this now? Thanks!

I've got some older Set Piece resources on my PC from 2013 - not the latest v1.9 that Theo's signature relates to on the d20radio forum thread, but at least it's something!

I've popped them all in a Dropbox folder which I'll try to keep up for a while. If anyone has more recent files, I'll update the folder:

FYI, the DOCX files are in A4 paper format (since I'm in the UK).
