Let's do FFG.... I think I can be there around 2:00

You can count on another contestant soon! 6 days and I'll be moving out there with a bunch of decks to try out

Looking forward to having some fresh blood! Look for our Facebook group too- Minnesota SWLCG.

Awesome, we look forward to having you!

Thanks! Days are ticking down, Can't be more excited. This tiny town in NH I live in has little to none for gaming population. Yu-gi oh and magic are strong (lame), and X-wing was doing alright but has dwindled to 4-6 at any given day. This town just doesn't care for Star wars sadly.

Hey All- we are planning on gathering a small group tomorrow evening (3/27) 5:00 to close to play. Most of the chatter can be found on our Facebook group... hope to see people there!

Are people meeting at FFG?

Yes we are! Will you and your lovely wife be up for a few games?

Not sure. I have meetings in the afternoon that could run into the evening. I hope so, though.

We had 7 players show up last night for casual gaming and trying out some new decks at the FFG EC.

Tentative tournament scheduled for Sunday, April 19...

Do you all meet every week? My wife and I just started playing (we're in SD) and, as far as we know, there is no organized play anywhere in our part of the state. We come to Minnesota somewhat regularly to visit family, and would love to join in on the fun!

we don't have a regular night anymore, but have actually had several sessions during the last week. Most of the conversation about when to meet has moved to our facebook page. If you and your wife are coming to visit family just mention something here ahead of time and I'm sure we can get people to show up and play!

Awesome! It took us a requisite dozen or so games to get all of the rules and things-to-watch-for down, but we're enjoying the two sad little decks that the core set + first Hoth Cycle expansion allowed us to make, and are looking forward to playing with new cards in the near future as well as meeting other players who enjoy the game!

I'd like to add to your post and to what Mac said... We use to play on Friday nights, then moved to Monday's, then settled on Tuesdays, but now are not sure what our "night" is. I'm leaning towards Friday's again myself... Hope to see you and your wife there sometime!

Friday evenings are the most doable for me.

Hope to see a ton of people at the EC this weekend for the Regional!

We have three coming up from Madison (maybe only two, one player is non-committal).

See you all there!

We had 18 at the FFG regional today. It was a long day of cards. Shad took the finals to a 2nd game and had to play finish things out with his DS. The nickname for the game at our regional became “Star Cold Wars”. Eventually a turn 1 Zekka was detonated with the dial at 11 sealing things up. Congratulations Shad!

Way to go Shad! I had a fun tournament and can't help but feel a little vindicated that I was swept by both Shad and Jens in a few close games. Congrats to both for game play and the nice deck builds.

Also, thanks to Mick for the update!

Nice. Way to go, Shad! One of the game's finest players and definitely deserving of the title! Congratulations!

Bumping this thread to let people know that there are indeed people in the Minneapolis area who play!

What happens at the Fantasy Flight Center on Tuesdays?

I will be in town on business and put the game center on the list of things to visit during my downtime at night. I was checking out the center's website and they have a Card Game Night on Tuesdays, just wondering what that is all about.

Tuesday is their LCG night. Star Wars has been very small and usually doesn't take place, but there is a regular group that plays Thrones, Conquest and Doomtown. Sometimes Netrunner, but I think that happens more on Mondays.

If you're in town this week there will likely be a lot of people at the Event Center because I think Thrones is going on sale tomorrow (Tuesday)

Shad and I won the 2v2 tournament at worlds today. Games were a lot closer and a lot more fun this year. I thought Nathan Ferraro and his wife had us dead to rights despite us keeping their board clear the whole game, but at the last moment Shad remembered something about Qu Rahn's ability and not being able to split objective damage from a single instance of protect. They were kind enough to let us try to recreate the board state and said if we had the answer in our next hand there was nothing they could do. Shad top decked a black market exchange and a vehicle to sell so Maarek Stele could go crazy on the Executor.

In the final against Scott Egan and Tom Melucci they realized they couldn't control us looping Lightsaber Deflection and Let the Wookie Win with Chewbacca getting healed every turn from Last Minute Rescue. So they decided to go super aggressive as DS and pitch their hands each turn to set the board up and dig for a core set Tarkin to blow up 5 objectives sending them all into one victory pile skyrocketing the dial. We weren't finding a lot of blast, and despite drawing Luke Falcon and Cloud City Operative were still falling one bomb short. That's when Tom Melucci NEW WORLD CHAMPION pointed out that we could play Let the Wookie Win try to cancel it with a Trust Me that was already at 4 damage blowing up the objective ticking up the dial to unfocus Obi Wan with a Force Cleansing on him to go in for the final bomb. Crazy crazy format.

The FFG Store Championship was held today. 8 people in attendance so 3 rounds of swiss no cut. Shad and I were both undefeated going into round 3 when we faced off against one another. A late appearance of Ferus Olin got me the blast I needed and sealed a long game where he nearly decked himself. In the second game Pilot Han jumped on a Rogue Squadron X-wing pushing out my most relevant defender each turn. He took one objective then built a board. When he finally went in he did so with Home One, two corvettes each with an astromech droid on them and Han pushing out my Rancor. I was not able to defend the trench. Not sure all those capital ships fit in there, but with a Target of Opportunity and Resupply Depot he got the 10 blast he needed to win the game. Shad took the tournament base on SoS.
