Fledermausen video is up on FTE now…

http://www.front-toward-enemy.us/2013/02/dust-tactics-ho-347-video-preview.html

Hope you enjoy.

It will be a while before we're back to regularly scheduled video posts, as I'm still recovering from my illness.

If you have any questions post them here or on our site, and I'll do my best to answer.

Cheers, thanks for that, great review. I think there is one error though, you mention dropping 3 bombs on the SSU heavy tank to take it out in one pass, the plane only has 2 weapon lines so can only drop 2 bombs.

Is it by weapon line or by the number of bombs on the model like multiple Panzerfausts in a single unit, there's only one Panzerfaust weapon line, but you can fire as many as you have check boxes for. Right?

Like I said still getting over a flu maybe my addeled brain is missing somthing.

You could if you had a full squad of models, but if there is only one soldier left, then he can only fire 1 panzerfaust, as there is only one model plane, it can only drop one bomb per weapon line. If he could drop as many as you like there would be no need for two weapon lines. Keep taking the Lemsip and keep upthe good work :)

Thanks Major that makes sense, I'll keep it in mind in the future.

I don't think he said "3 bombs in one pass ", did he? Only that you'd need to chuck 3 bombs at the tank to destroy it.

Dropping twin weapons to single should really only reduce the dice by one, the 88 should not be worse than a single 17pdr.

Actually in 1944 the British introduced the ADPS round for the 17pdr. Gun making it as effective as a 8.8cm guns mounted on German tanks of the day like the Tiger I.

Within the avarage engagment ranges of the day a Sherman Firefly which sports the same gun as Pounder was able to take on heavy German armor like the Tiger, Panther and Panzer IV ausf. H. With a maximum effective distance of 2000 meters.

While the Tiger I effective range against heavier armored vehicles like the Churchill was limited to around 1600 meters.

So in my opinion an 8.8cm would be slightly less powerful then the 17pdr. Gun of the late 1940s.

We're continuing our video series with more on the command squads… Remember these videos are geared toward beginners.

And here is every DT unit name, item number, and point value currently known to me in a pdf file, its 11x17 though.

Also here is a DT tree I've been working on.

The unit list is very nice, Miah!

Thanks for the effort!

Thanks, It took a couple days to pull it all together.

Can't open the unit list on my iPad, probably a conflict between iOS and Google

Did you try downloading the original? There is a button in the upper left of the Google Drive page.

I don't own any i stuff so I can't be much help, sorry.

Nice vid, thanks, and loving the models, shame about the ridiculous stat card, rules and pts cost.

I actually think the units would be balenced well so long as the same rules as the Axis teams applied and the Artillery Reaload rule was applied or not applied as the case may be more logically.

So in my opinion there's nothing worng with the units themselves, just a series of weird FAQ rulings.

As for point costs keep in mind Armor 1 is a serious disadvantage.

In fact I played two or three games before the latest FAQ was out and while the Marines were weaker, they were still very useful, and I liked them fine. Once I played with the new FAQ changes the Marines were stronger but I don't think overpowered.

Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with the unit, it's just the rulings that are wonky.

- Why have two different rules for how a wounded single-base squad works? Have all of them fire all weapons until they're eliminated (just like a vehicle) and be done with it.

- Artillery reload. Good lord, what a mess. Nikita doesn't have Reload, but needs to reload. Leathernecks doesn't have Reload and doesn't need to reload. Vladimir Lenin has Reload and needs to reload. Future units will have Magazine Reload, which will allow their artillery weapons to not reload, even though that's exactly what the Leathernecks already do without that skill. 2nd edition can't come soon enough to clean up all that mess.

- Flamethrowers only roll a single die against a 4-men squad on a single base. WTF?

Good god I forgot that last one, my mind must have blocked it out. Official rulings like these make me glad I don't play DT to win tournaments.

And I too hope the 2nd edtion helps fix this. Personally I hope it imposes a if it's on the card then it's there, if it's not on the card then it's not philosophy, or a set of corrected card need to be included.

Don't the rules say the opposite?

A: When attacking a squad composed of multiple figures
attached to a single base, Incendiary Blast weapons roll
one die per + symbol listed against the target squad’s
armor class.
