Why Succesors are better

By Tunnelhckrat, in Deathwatch Rules Questions

I noticed in ROB that the succesor chapters all had something cool about them, Black Consuls had last man standing, Concecrators had better gear ect. But where is the love for the original chapters they came from? This doesnt apply to space wolves since they now get counter attack at creation. But the smurfs should have like Peer (adeptus astartes) or something along that line, Dark angels could have nerves of steel (or last man standing), Storm wardens should get something to help them drive or something ect. Does anyone see this as an imbalance?

Only if a minor numerical adjustment matters more than roleplay to the player.

Most of the modifiers for successors are either minor (woo: Common Lore: Imperial Guard. Stop the presses!) or countered by a disadvantage. And many have no disadvantage. And for that relatively minor advantage you trade away First Founding bragging rights! And we all know that the First Founding chapters are generally the coolest.

I agree with Siranui, the additional "benefits" are not that great, and I prefer the bragging rights of first founding.

I agree. First founding bragging rights are entirely worth more.
