Tales from the Fringe Anthology IC

I look at him nervously. Trying to see if I get bad vide off him. It seems he pick this up pretty quick. I know he's good but maybe to good. I have it here on my data pad.

"Let's take a look!" He grins, rubbing his hands eagerly, and scoots his chair over next to Raxle. He pulls a wire out of the droid head's neck and plugs it into one of the datapad's outputs. "Tinny, work your bagic." He explains to Raxle, "He'll udscrabble the junk data so we can ged to the real stuff." He pulls another datapad out of his utility belt and pulls a second wire out of the droid's neck, plugging it into his datapad. He begins studying the information as it streams across the screen.

"About our payment..?" the droid head asks.

Don't worry droid. Sorn knows how this works. He helps me and then I help him. Maybe Sorn needs droid reprogramming.

Sorn laughs and the droid says, "Well I never ! How rude."

The server comes with Sorn's drink, and Sorn indignantly complains that the order was wrong. The server insists that it wasn't, and Sorn repeats the order. The server throws up his hands in irritation, telling him that that's what it is ! The droid finally decides to step in, translating the actual order to the server and explaining the misunderstanding.

After that situation is sorted out, the Sullustan keeps working on the datapad. After a few minutes, he plunks it down on the table. "Data tradsmissiod coblete. I saw sob fabiliar fingerprints , if you bill, in that bess, but I can'd identiby dem off the tob of by head. I'll take this hobe with be and ged back to you toborrow if I hab andthig. Soud good? Sabe tibe, sabe blace?"

I was hoping you could figure this out tonight. Maybe I could come over and we both could work on it? I know R1 was looking forward to some time off the ship.

"I'd rather nod. And I'll only be cobarig this with by records anyway, nod much for you to do. I'll see if I cad finish it tonight dough, for old tibe's sake."

Ok. So is there anything I can do for you while your working on this?

"Credits." the droid head interrupts. The Sullustan raps his knuckles on its dome, "Shush, Tinny. I don't hab anythig now ... but I'b sure I cad cobe up with somethig further down the line..." He grins widely, chuckling.

Thank you again and good luck. Let me know when your done.

"Sure, sure, no probleb. You god a cob number I cad call?"

I will give you R1 comm link contact info. He will know where to get me.

He accepts the contact info and chugs down the replacement drink the server just delivered. Finished, he hauls himself upright and bids Raxle good night before heading for the door, arguing with Tinny as he walks.

I guess now we will have to wait for Sorn's contact. R1 let Ro0k know to head to the ship. We will wait for a little while and then we will meet them there. Before I head back I will need find a good place to change my appearance.

As I walk back to the ship following R1. I was able to change my appearance by ducking behind a delivery crate. Basically a normal looking human not to draw to much attention. During the route back I did not notice any one following R1 or myself. I should be happy that I didn't notice anyone. Right. But I have a bad feeling about this.

When RO-0K and Bestin arrive back at the ship, they find the prisoner just where they left him, but unconscious. He appears to have been attempting to get out of his cuffs when he passed out, the exertion having been too much for him in his weakened state.

Only a couple hours later, Sorn Dom sends R1 a message for "Will Kramer": "I think I've got your guy. Come to the Rockwall tapcafe. Corner of Third and Duin streets in the Sullustan quarter."

I turn around to Ro0k and Bestin and say. Sorn said he has our hacker. We are to meet up with him at a restaurant in the Sullustan quarter. I don't totally trust him but I don't think we have much of a choice. We could leave R1 with the prisoner and ship to guard them.

RO-0K nodded, That will be acceptable.. Will R1 be able to perform piloting duties if required?

I would say R1 is can move a ship around if we need to.

Bestin nods his agreement, patting his holster meaningfully.

R1 stay with the ship. We need to head to the meeting location. Ro0k and Bestin please trail me there. I will change into a Sullustan. To avoid detection. Once I see him I will duck out and change into my normal human form. Then make the meet up. You guys cover me. R1 be ready to rescue us.

Ro0k you could stay will R1 if you want to help? I believe Bestin can cover me if it goes bad.

Raxle changes into a Sullustan. Raxle leads the others to the bar. I planning on being as normal looking as possible during the travel to the bar.

Darn here comes some cops. Better to address them head on then run for it. Hopefully Bestin see this and slip by them without drawing attention. Now I just need the cops attention.

Hello officers can I help you?

Having noticed Raxle poking around as he searched for a good pick-up location, the pair now stride towards the oddly-proportioned "Sullustan," "You looking for anything in particular? Lost?" The policeman's voice is deep and mildly distorted by the mask meant to hide his identity, but he sounds distinctly suspicious. The second policeman casually moves around behind Raxle, keeping him hemmed in if he were to try and run, but glancing around for any accomplices.

Not really. I'm new to area and wanted to check out the Rockwell Tapcafe. Heard they like to serve Sullustans. Is that still true?

"Yeah it's true enough. This is the Sullustan quarter, after all. Aren't you a little tall for a Sullustan? Let me see some ID." The officer holds out his hand expectantly.

My people had some human blood line in it. I better hand over some of my " False Credentials" docs. Is this really necessary officers? Oh well, here you go.
