I was thinking of two going into the scrapyard for information/buying a replacement ship, and two going to investigate that rock outcropping which the Jawas pointed out to us.

Aleena to the scrapyard, Barda to the outcropping?

Cadena will go with Barda, Sienna with Aleena. I suggest you have one of your characters suggest that IC.

To clarify, Cadena isn't against investigating the site, she just doesn't think they should focus on pursuing Gala. I'm trying to play to both of their Emotional Strengths/Weaknesses here, as Cadena is determined and stubborn while Sienna is enthusiastic and reckless, more easily swept up in the emotion of "save the person!" rather than the practical matter.

@Bellona , nevermind, I saw your IC post just before I went offline for a while and then forgot that you'd already posted when I got back. Sorry, I'll go ahead and post when I can get my thoughts together.

@RuusMarev , about how long will it take to get to Shadow's landing site?

Any sort of check there?

Just over a mile or so (2 kilometers for @Bellona :D ) uneven ground, covered in sagebrush-like plants once you cross the landing field boarder.

Easy Survival check with 1 Setback from brush and uneven ground. (10 minute walk?)

Ooo, Cadena removes a Setback and halves travel time with Outdoorsman.

What exactly would be the consequences of Failure? What does success get us?

Failure= rolled ankle? :D (maybe fell into a pricker bush)

Success= You easily navigate your way.. (multiple Success; you pretty much made a game of it and danced your way..)

Survival : 1eP+1eA+1eD 2 successes

Nice! Her experience in the Dathomirian outback has served her well. She makes it up in half the time with Outdoorsman. Hopefully she doesn't then have to turn and around and sprint back to Barda with fifteen angry [insert enemy here] on her tail. <_<

She could slow down and stay with Barda, but that's not her style.

The FaD Core was very little help with the difficulty/ consequences for movement across terrain.. unless I missed a section?

Nope. They leave it pretty bare.

You made a good call. For trying to go somewhere quickly, I'd use Athletics. For a long trek, I'd use Resilience. For something like this where it's just rough terrain, Survival is a good choice.

(besides, it makes Outdoorsman feel awesome :D )

For funsies, I decided to have Sienna roll as well: Survival : 2eP+1eA+1eD 2 successes
p-s.png p-s.png a-s-a.png d-f-th.png

Which comes out exactly the same. Interesting. I think that matches well, because she is more nimble than Cadena, but not as physically fit or strong. But with Outdoorsman, she's able to keep a pretty good pace over relatively long distances.

One of Bellona's PC's went a long with Cadena, correct?

Yep, Barda did.

Let me just get started (I just came back from a Mandalorian viewing evening) ...

(1 American mile = 1.6 km, IIRC.)

Big Barda in the wilderness ...

From Kiev spaceport to rocky outcropping: Survival : 2eA+1eD+1eS 1 failure, 2 advantage
a-a-a.png a--.png d--.png s-f.png

... Big Barda does not like the wilderness, apparently! :D

While Cadena moves twice as fast than normal through the wilderness, Barda moves twice as slowly than normal?

I'm not sure what those Advantages can be used for here. Maybe, while trying to get through the brush, she finds a hiding spot for later use? Or some interesting/relevant tracks?

Is this the start of a different encounter than finding where Gala's starfight was in the spaceport?

If not, then I need to add +1 Setback (due to the failed Fear check in the spaceport).

It would make sense, since you are headed toward where the Shadow man came from...

As for the roll...

We'll go with Failure = Barda rolled her ankle on a rock, but (advantage) managed to perform a quick movement/hop and just strained it, slowing her down... (Since I have had several first hand experiences with this very event, I think it's a pretty good deal.)

Mostly your pride hurts more than the throbbing of the ankle.

@Bellona did you build Barda as a Dathomir Human? (they have 1 rank in Outdoorsman standard)

Nope, I didn't because I'd forgotten that they'd been officially introduced into the FFG rule set in CotR (which has not been officially put into OD's character generator yet).

I'm perfectly happy with the benefits of a regular human, particularly the "+1 rank in 2 out-of-career skills" and the extra 10 starting XP for characteristics.

Added the very important underlined word. :)

fair enough :D

@RuusMarev , what's the nature of the "outcropping"? Can you describe it?

I'd also like to make a Stealth check for Cadena. Even if someone may have seen her coming, she wants to try and get a discreet look at the area without getting her head blown off, chopped off, or eaten. What would be involved in that?

Star Trek has been there multiple times, so why not us? :)

@RuusMarev , can Cadena make a Stealth check to get up and take a look without being noticed? I doubt she'll succeed, but I want to give it a try. :D

sure!

Easy with a Setback (from scrambling along a rock face)

Removes a Setback with Outdoorsman: Stealth : 2eA+1eD 1 failure, 1 advantage

Aww...
