She already has the information from the PDF, then she left the bay to look for information about the current affiliation of the planet. (unless I'm confused about something?)

With the Threat, they will still have locked down the ship, and they have deactivated Kor and the other droids, but have not removed them from the scene by the time you get there.

Yes, there is no way to get it off without being extremely obvious about it. You wouldn't have the technical know-how to take it apart, and you don't have the clearance codes to get it off the regular way.
