I agree ovi needs to give more reason to vote GNIP than what he's given.

We've heard from all the non-voters from yesterday. Caldias and Forty seem potentially towny, but Jabba's post seems a little off.

For one thing, he usually posts more, and I'd expect him to be guessing who could be scum by now. His posts yesterday were pretty worthless, and today he just drops a warning to avoid a certain scum role, but still I don't know who he suspects.

It also seems odd that someone would submit the same scum role Biggs had last year. After all, the role is kind of worthless if you don't have the element of surprise on your side anymore.

This is awfully daring of you, is it not? At least Cal hinted at a role without revealing it. You came out and basically stated your role unprompted (granted vaguely, but at least we know it's watcheresque). Did you see anyone else? Could you have?

Revealing myself a little doesn’t worry me nearly as much in a upick, because everyone’s presumably a power role, we don’t know what those roles are (not individually), and it gives a player a little credit if they’re forced to fully claim. In this setup I prefer playing to the players over the mechanics, and that means being more open.

As to the specifics of my ability, I aim to keep that to myself until given a reason to do otherwise.

I don’t have a suspect list yet (still reading through things), I just gave you what I was given. As for the Biggs role, it’s this post that gives me suspicion:

The connection is not a in-game mechanic rather than the knowledge our friend Ebon has about our master of ceremony Pod.

Coal was mentioned in the start of day post, gift wrapped. So, either ovi is telling the truth, or he is using the clues in the post to claim a role. If the latter, he ought to be counterclaimed by whoever put the coal. Short of that happening, I am inclined to believe him. That doesn't necessarily mean he is a good Santa, but at least we know he in unlikely to have been the one to kill Matt (why visit him AND kill him?).

Ovi has claimed Santa, and admits to visiting Matt, who is significantly less alive then he used to be. This is pretty damning, except he didn’t really have to claim this. Its possible he’s giving us as much truth as he can so we believe the little lie he needs us to (in this hypothetical, that he’s town). Its also possible he’s just giving us as many of the facts as he can.

If he is, I’m curious about Jabba. He gave us some very cryptic information. He didn’t call out a specific player, just a description of the role. If we flip Ovi town, I think we’ll need to take a long hard look at Jabba. If Ovi wasn’t the killer, why didnt he see a second player? Why off this little bit unprompted? Even if Ovi flops scum, I’d be concerned. Theres a lot of questions there.

I’d also like to know why Ebon would know Ovi’s innocence, none of that seems to make sense.

Finally, while my lens isn’t on Cal for the moment, knowing I’m town doesn’t exonerate him of anything. Scum would also know that.

How long do we have until night falls? I think I know Ovi is lying. if it requires me to claim in order for you to believe that then I can, honestly I think knowing my role might help town.

Hopefully to me I already pointed my role at the start of the d1. So it's not something I'm making up right now. I also sent him a gift card. If any role may recover stuff from dead people I can proof that quoting the content.

Hey guys, I'm going to have to be driving for the next little bit and don't know how active I can be. For the sake of getting information out there, I think I'm just going to go ahead and claim. I'm sorry if you guys think this is a poor idea but I think it explains a lot it might help others that can be active solve the puzzle. Last night I busdrove Matt and Mads. So if Ovi is saying he targeted Matt then he actually should have blown up mads if that was the case. unless there's something I missed or another role interaction that might have monkeyed with what I did.

I don't know if you typically get notified when you get Roleblocked but it's possible I was maybe Roleblocked then? If you don't normally get notified about that then I suppose it doesn't 100% clear Mads if I was indeed Roleblocked. Anyway, hope that's helpful. I should get home around 4:30 Eastern time and can pick up the rest from there.

You are definitely either lying or were role-blocked. All people who have claimed to have done something last night claimed that their target was Matt, and this is borne out by the results. Nobody is confused as to why Matt got, say, a lump of coal when they wanted to send it to Mad, or vice versa. Your claim affects at least four people: Jabba, who claimed to have seen the Santa figure leave Matt, Ovi, who claimed to give Matt the coal, the killer, and the person who left the invite. Of those 4, two have claimed to have intended to visit Matt, which implies the other 2 also so intended, since a busdriver is an all-or-none role.

I do not claim to have done that, for the record. Not that I necessarily disagree with your point overall, but that leaves Ovi as the sole person claiming intention to visit, and he’s being pressured by Cal in the first place.

Well I'm a moron, I somehow missed the lump of coal and "ho ho ho" in the day start post (thanks to GNIP for pointing that out).

Unfortunately this doesn't raise my suspicion of Jabba in the least. In fact, I'm even more suspicious, because everything he supposedly learned from a PM was already there in the thread.
