"Droids again, commander?" asks Ker'see.

Commander Cody replied Um General Ker'see, t he CIS doesn't have enough organic sentients in its military to wage a war. So it's a certainty that we will be facing primarily droids. What's unclear is how many organic assets of what types will be deployed along with the droids, but we can expect an organic general along with whatever else they throw at us.

"What intelligence do we have on the leadership? If we can take out the head the body should follow..."

"When do we expect to have a count - or at least an estimate - of the number of 'big guns', Commander Cody?" Mireska asked.

Jorin nudges Camouflage, whispering Are you planning on a preemptive strike?

"Kinda, I've thought of something right up our alley." He clears his throat, "Generals, commanders, if I may?"

When the landers stop coming down general. But within in an hour or two I could give you something like an upper bound estimate by assuming every ship in the separtist fleet was filled to capacity, with a typical load out, and they offloaded their full ground complements. However, that would almost certainly be a severe overestimate. The seppies are funded by bankers, the trade federation, et cetera, they're approaching this war as a business transaction, and a maximum capacity load out would be uneconomical. I'd venture that a large portion on their fleet is there for the sole purpose of driving off our fleet.

Cody nods.

"My squad's specialty, and Balyeg's too, I presume, is not sitting around waiting for them to come to us. Our squads might be able to significantly reduce their force with a strike at one of their landers. If we hit it just after it lands, we can prevent it from offloading its equipment, make it clear, and blow the thing to kingdom come. Plenty of ordnance packed on those things to take out the whole ship. I do have a few questions though for narrowing down which sites to hit. First, we need to take one alone, as I doubt we have the manpower to take two or even three once they begin to disgorge their droids to deal with an attack. Secondly, if they have more landers inbound on that position as a follow up, that might be even better as we could deal with one, and if a second lands, we could deal with it too. Thirdly, for my plan to work, we'd need to get there just after they do, or shortly before and just wait for an opening." As he talks, he continues scanning the map for a good site, "My men and I can get in and out fast on our jetpacks. My suggestion is that Balyeg Squad start a frontal attack as a distraction, drawing out some of the droid defenders. Then my men and I either sneak in quietly or jet in on our packs, depending on the surrounding terrain, storm to the control center and shut down the droids. Then we rig the ordnance in their AATs to blow, wait for more to come in if they're coming, and detonate it. Ridding ourselves of hundreds of tanks and thousands of droids."

"Maybe three Jedi could supply another distraction," Mireska suggested, ignoring Commander Cody's wince.

Camouflage also winces under his helmet, thinking "Generals? This is a high risk op, and it's only a fraction of the droid forces... We can't afford to lose them. And Jorin's place would be with the Jedi. That means he'd come along, and he'd probably want to stick close to me. Ah, who'm I kidding. He'd want to come along anyway." Outwardly, he simply nods. He knows they'd be helpful.

Thought I should add a clarification. Camouflage doesn't want Jorin along because he wants to keep "the kid" alive, not because he doesn't want to deal with him.

"What kind of distraction were you thinking, Mireska?"

"I'm not sure yet," Mireska answered, looking at the map. "Maybe a series of 'now you see me, now you don't' hit and run raids? I was originally going to suggest that we sabotage the big guns ourselves. Regardless, I'm definitely open to suggestions," she added wryly.

Jorin briefly looked at Camouflage, confused by him seemingly ignoring him, Jorin thought he would go along, he was their commander.. technically .

He turned his attention to the map, thinking about how Camouflage helped him.. what was the term?

Oh yes, Escape and Evade.

He studied the map, letting the urban sprawl blur, picturing heavy brush and plant life...

Masters, if I may.. he pointed out areas of the map, if we were to block these avenues of approach, we could... he looked to Camouflage as if remembering the word. Bottleneck them here, and here... placing them in range of our heavy cannons.

Commander Cody, Generals if you're going to do hit and fades you'll need fast transportation. A LAAT is is too big of a target except for quick insertion and extractions, if it loiters it'll be shot down, and it's easy to see on sensors because it's up in the air without cover. But if you were to take a pair of barc speeder bikes, with a side car gunnery pod on one for the commander to give you a bit extra firepower, terrain such as the large crystal outcroppings and damaged city structures could hide you from their sensor so they wouldn't know you were there until they saw or heard you.

Good thinking commander. A few well placed explosives could bring down these two buildings blocking this path. Explosives could also take out these 2 bridges. Not sure how we could block the other route you pointed to, which eaves three routes not counting going all the way around the city and approaching from the other side.

"How long have we got before we need to enact the plan?"

The deadline is up to you, General , but I'd expect the currently proposed plan to be effective for a day or two

Camouflage nods, impressed with Jorin's plan. He suddenly perks up as another idea occurs to him. He takes a closer look at the route Jorin and the Commander had discussed and smirks to himself, "Just crazy enough to work..." he mumbled to himself. "I have an amendment to suggest to my previous proposal. If the situation is such that we can't lay a trap for future landers with our target, we can try to use the targeted lander as a barricade." He traces a path on the map with his finger, "We take off, fly over to this route, and land the ship. Then we either deactivate the tensor fields, allowing the wings to collapse under their own weight, or blow it up as previously suggested. Maybe both." He then turns to the generals, "Generals, with your authorization, I'll prep the men and consult with Lieutenant Condor, then come back to the command center to select a target." Turning to Cody, "Commander, what should we take for a transport? BARCs like the Jedi? We'd need quite a few of them, and I can't promise you'd get them back."

I was thinking you and your men would use your jetpacks and condor and his men would take 3 barcs with sidecars.

"Okay people, we need to get moving," ordered Ker'see seeing the need for action. "Get those bikes fueled up! Make sure you've all got your ammo packs ready." The Devaronian turns to her CTs. "CT-2999 and CT-3004, go get the Duchess ready. It's about time she saw some action."

"I'll see the Quartermaster about the sabotage charges, and meet you at the garage," Mireska said. She left in the direction of Logistics, already speaking with the QM on her comlink.

Jorin looked around as everyone prepared for the coming assaults. He reached his hand out to Camouflage.

I guess this is where our paths split for now. Go to the Quartermaster and pull any gear you will need for your mission and I will see you on your return. Good luck... and May the Force be with you.

Camouflage nods to the commander, "Okay, hope our fuel lasts."

He shook Jorin's proffered hand, "See you on the other side, commander. Good luck. And... may the Force be with you too. You're the one who uses it after all."

Camouflage turns and leaves the command center, walking quickly on his way to meet the others.

He goes first to his men. He talks for a couple minutes with Anakkona, his second-in-command, informing him of the plan and instructing him to prep the others while he talks to the commandos.

Then he went to Balyeg squad and conferred with Lieutenant Condor, explaining the plan and getting him on board. Condor expressed his intention to outfit the BARCs with some bigger guns. If they were going to be a distraction, they were going to be a big one.

He then returns to his men, who are now fully geared up, and fully briefs all of them before getting the rest of his own gear and returning to the command center. "Commander. Any promising sites yet?" He says, saluting quickly on his way to the holomap.

Jorin made his way back from the Quartermaster laden with the additional gear he had requisitioned, most of which fit nicely in the modular backpack. He absently made slight adjustments to the fit of the set of armor that left him thankfully, largely unburdened and provided unhindered movement. He self consciously poked the earbud comlink buried in his ear, afraid it would fall out, even after the Quartermaster's assurances it wouldn't. Lieutenant Camouflage? It's Jorin, testing my new comms....

"I'm sorry, you're breaking up badly. Who is this?" he says, clear (or at least, it should be clear) from his tone that he is joking.

"Reading you loud and clear, Commander" , Thank you Lieutenant. Jorin grinned, I followed your advice and picked up some armor and an M8, I'll look into a blaster when I have a moment.
