Reach of the Empire IC

By Edgehawk, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Beginner Game

"That ship has no capacity for that kind of defence. The discharge needed that close would play havok with the magnetic coupling. Unless its an experimental addition?! What's your security clearance!?

"Inquisitorial Clearance." the Fourth Brother says looking to his pilot and the Engineer who was questioning him, then turns back to Veitra waiting for her to speak.

As he walks to join the Task Force, Evon silently asses the group. As the argument between the pilot and the engineer is cut short by the Inquisitor, he thinks: "Great, I don't even need the psych-eval to tell that pilot is Corellian. That should be fun, I should double on stimpacks, just in case."

He goes over to the group, eager to get more information on the task at hand.

As Briar delivers her order, Den responds with a short nod as he steps towards the wounded prisoner. "Yes boss" he would say as he reaches down to drag Poros to his feet, forcing his arm up behind his back. "Come on, let's find you a nice comfy cell" he would grunt into Poros's ear as he half marches, half drags him out of the room.

He bites his tongue as he hears Cani's comment, for now. There would be time for that later. As Dyson heads away to deal with his duty, Den's mind races for a moment to try and think of a comeback. Just before he is out of hearing he shouts after him "bigger head means more brains!"

Evon starts the questioning of Porel. He thoroughly prepares the drug for the interrogation and spends some time arranging needles, other ill-colored substances and a bloody laserscapel, just for the show.

Stirring one of the harsh-green vials, he says: "Now you are going to give me everything we want to know." He objects, but Evon interrupts him. "I wasn't asking, I simply stated it." - raising the bloody scalpel - " You have information the Empire needs, and I will cut it out from you, if need be." Then, he puts down the scalpel, and administers the drug cocktail, designed to dull his mind and ease up the questioning.

Porel is talkative, but something is not right. Evon's senses telling him, he is telling the truth. Porel babbles for a while, confesses his love for Venlana, how she is stuck, because the Consortium doesn't recognise her abilities. He ellaborates on his plans to overthrow the Pirate Queen, and placing Venlana in her place, who is going to raise him to her side, as her most trusted aide.

So he started leaking information on behalf of Venlana, and planned to advocate her, when the Queen is finally set aside.

But something still doesn't add up for Evon, Porel is too focused. He can't understand how Venlana can't see his genius plan and why she shut him down. He is furious, she betrayed him to the Empire. At that moment, Evon comes to the revelation that he made a mistake! "For the Emperor's sake you rookie, you haven't give him enough sedatives, like a first day cadet! Ah nevermind, it's in his system, it will kick in soon. I feel like there is something he still holds back, but the Inquisitor will get it from him. The drug will make it easier."

V raises a brow as she watched the Inquisitor.

I’m afraid I don’t know who you are...

she then crossed her arms.

Inquisitorius or not...I only report to one person... the Emperor.

Drogos would raise an eyebrow at her comments. “ I do not order you, I ask to be briefed on the situation at hand and your progress.” He was confused by her unwillingness to answer his questions.

After the Doctor was done with Porel, The Fourth Brother made his way into the cell. Using the force to make the air feel cold and himself look more menacing he began his work at uncovering what Porel Knew.

The Queen herself... the force sensitive.” Drogos says in a pensive stance. “ Very interesting. Do you have anything else?” The question hung in the air.

As the team draws closer to their destination, Lieutenant Somar presses ahead to scout it out. Speed and sensors are limited while utilizing the stealth-tech, so he takes the Phantom in for a closer look.

Approaching the coordinates for Saleuquest Overland Expeditions, he spies what looks like a feed silo rising some twenty meters above the rim of the crater. A number of platforms and hive-like buildings are built into the wall inside the crater, typical of Saleucami architecture in general. Several nondescript trucks and trailers occupy one of the platforms, and there appears to be movement on some of the others, but the overhanging foliage spilling over the lip conceals further detail.

A glint catches the pilot's eye from atop the silo, and the pilot knows he has been spotted. Could just be a pair of macronocs, but could also be a scope. A single figure can be seen.

"TI-4433 to Stormcrow , target acquired. Hostile are active, possibly preparing for action. Please advise."

Upon accessing the datapad and seeing the contents, Briar thought That's not good Getting to the cockpit as quickly as she could, she arrived shortly before Lt. Somar's message. "Fall back, it may be a trap, there might be more of them there than we originally thought."

"Imperial shuttle and escort, welcome to Hellhound Crater, home of 22nd SpecCal, Special Cavalry and Armored Test Unit. We're tucked away down here beneath the Saleuquest operation. Drop on in- you are cleared to land on Platform Besh."

"Anything you see here is under a strictly confidential basis." Cani states sternly.

"Regardless of any sense of superiority given by a hokey religion" That last part was said somewhat under her breath.

"Orders?" Sergeant Arkmeda has the stick in the shuttle, and is unsure how to proceed. Are the crater occupants friendlies? Hostiles? Neither? Both?

"You were given orders Sergeant, bring is in, platform besh. Or are you requesting reassignment?"

I'll grab the heavy weapons, just in case.

"Meeting up at pad Besh."

Glancing at the other stormtrooper as he moves to collect his weapons, Den would nod to him. "Heavy weapons are the best 'just in case' for most scenarios, if you ask me". As he talks he readjusts his grip on his own rifle, looking back down to give it a cursory glance over. He couldn't see anything that had changed since the last mission, it would probably be fine. Besides, if it wasn't, he had plenty of back up options.

Evon prepares his medkit. Double-checks the contents of it. Then, he shuts it with a quick motion. He glances at his blaster to make sure its charged, then turns to the Stormtroopers. ,,Ready when you are."

Haha! Stay behind us doc, if this goes south, we'll need you in one piece!

As the Stormcrow and its accompanying Phantom approach closer to the crater, they can make out a figure in desert robes atop the tower, and he is in fact armed with a long rifle- but he is no longer tracking them with its scope. A dizzying array of antennae, more fitting for a remote military outpost, rise up from the top of the silo. Signage advertises Saleuquest Overland Expeditions , and indeed there are platforms with numerous beasts and other methods of conveyance, trailers and howdahs. Mostly dewbacks and happabores, but also a Bantha and perhaps other creatures unseen.

Dropping below the rim and down beneath the outfitter, a platform is presently extending from the wall of the crater. There is a large " [|] " symbol in the center, and enough space for shuttle and starfighter to both berth. Also on the platform is an LAAT/c with an AT-TE prepped to go. The tank commander and pilot are standing a short distance away, and they wave the Stormcrow in and await the task force's disembarkment.

"We fear our communications may be compromised," the tank commander leads with. "I'm First Sergeant Fitzsimmons. We're getting ready to deploy, but heard you might be heading this way. To be honest, we could use the assist. We have a scientist and a gunnery sergeant missing. Didn't think too much of it at first, thought they had sort of a thing going... but they've been gone two days, along with a prototype walker we've been calling the " Varactyl."

Well, sounds like the situation is going north. Oh well, I guess I still might need this though. *pats his Z-6*

The Fourth Brother was deep in meditation as the shuttle landed, when he feels the shake of the craft as it lands he awakens. Stepping out he observes his surroundings. for now he just watches the tank commander address the group.

Evon taps Hale on the shoulder and says: ,,Sgt. Hale, if things do go south, you will sure need me to sew you back into one piece!" - then with a wink at the trooper, Evon steps beside the Inquisitor.
,,Sir, does this means we have new priorities? Or are we still requisitioning the beasts?"

Disembarking Briar listens to the first sergeant. "So, let me see if I understand this;" she addressed the first sergeant, "You just let staff take experimental prototypes out for 'romantic trips' through the country side?" she said with an obvious accusatory tone in her voice.

"I'd do it..." Somar whispers to himself under his helmet.
