Yeah, for whatever reason it seems our schedules are very non-compatible. We’ll keep trying!
mhd (1st player) versus @CaribbeanNinja , ends with a 8-3 for victory for mhd, MOV of 145.
We played capture the VIP with a pretty standard deployment with the Kittens moving right to left in a effort to cross the T on the hammerheads while the EngineTech CR90s moved to engage and sweep around on either flank. The action began turn 2, the Pryce turn, with jab of squadrons from the Gozanti to kill Tycho and prevent him from running amok in the tie swarm and assorted, sometime very effective, red dice jabs from the arquittans. Shara Bey slowed the attack of the squadron ball and took a tie fighter down with her but scatter aces just don't last that long against tie fighter aces with all of the fixings.
Unfortunately, the start of turn 3 left me with a dilemma, Needas Arquittan was down to 3 hull and no shields but had a clear shot to either finish off a hammerhead and escape, or explode spectacularly while the quasar was going to take at least one stiff shot from at least one Hammerhead, but it should be able to take the hit and not die immediately. Sloanes flagship was driving a little slower acting as a trailer, but would be swamped with targets too soon. I activated Needa, to dispatch an activation and to prevent myself from being tabled. As predicted, the hammerhead hit hard, but the Quasar lived with combined squadrons, direct fire, and a ram dispatched another hammerhead. It did not survive long as a TRC90 shot and then double rammed it for the kill, which was in turn shot and rammed down by Sloanes Arq. Which was then the primary target of a coordinated ram attack by the remaining TRC90s, it barely survived dropping the blast doors and getting inside the turning arc of one more Cr90 that died on turn 5 and picking up the VIP turn 6.
A super fun game against CaribbeanNinja who is always a joy to play and it really looked like he was going to win this but missed one ram attack by about 5 pixels. Otherwise, the game would have been his all the way.
Tokra vs. @BillHimclaw is over as well.
I won with a score of 400 against 139 for a MOV of 261 and a 9-2.
I picked first Player and we were playing Bills Station Assault. The 139 Points were the two stations and my two Transports.
He really suprissed me with a first turn bomber attack from rhymer, stele, Jendon and Jumpmaster on my Yavaris. Taking it down to 3 hull. But in the counterattacks he lost all the squadrons, without any further chance for a shot on a ship.
The two Interdictor died to the broadside from the MC80 (yes, ok, there were as well some squadrons,...) and the Quasar flew off the table. The Quasar was chasing down the Dodaris (Dodonna/Yavaris) and was not able to drift well enough to stay on the map.
The match was really fun. i don't think i have ever played against two interdictors. And Piet as Admiral is really a nice idea for it.

And next up we have:
Ginkapo vs NebulonB
First Player - NebulonB - 233 plus 30pts
Second Player - Ginkapo - 104 plus 75 pts
Objective - Precision Strike
I bloody hate liberties. Characteristically Raddus drops his liberty to take out Demo in a last first. Surprise surprise.
I clear out the shields on the lib and Quantum Storm fairly easily. Followed up swopping each other flotillas, but some tokens for me in the process. Liberty still refusing to take hull damage. Until the end of turn 4 where I have got 1 hull damage on both corvettes and the liberty. Here come the tokens......
Or not as Liberty activates first, and repairs the hull damage. Still, popped a corvette and seriously dented the other. Unfortunately that one got away alive whilst my other glad died.
7-4 and I bow out of the tournament.
@themightyhedgehog and I are the first to finish a game from Pod L8. I win initiative and pick his AG- I choose my flotilla and he his Assfrig. I take out his lead cr90 turn 2, the assfrig over turns 2-4, and the game ends on his concession turn 5 when his badly damaged flag cr90 was inevitably going to get eaten by unengaged squads. Final score is 472-28, mauler and valen were both in a bad spot facing the rest of his squadrons so I’m pretty sure they’d go down in a typical Imperial strategic sacrifice.
Thanks for the great game and good luck in the rest of the tourney dude!

apologies again for the slow play, you are a top tier player so thinking is surely a major part, but believe me, my command of the mouse and keyboard isnt fluid, and lag occurs. Still, apologies.
Thx also for the game. I was totally surprised by your aggressiveness with Thrawn and overall, was expecting a sort of slow roll. I also had luck with slicer, but I dont know if that made a difference for you, anyway. My dice also behaved well, that helped.

Dupy vs Ninja wraps up POD1! (Otherwise known as the JJ POD)
Dupy took 1st and my Intel Sweep. He setup his Liberty on the right flank, and I engaged it with my HHs. Meanwile, my Cr90s were busy pestering Dodonna's Pelta barge which was slowly rolling in with the GR-75s. Quantum storm slicer came in clutch IMO to stop the constant flow of Z95s. The Zs were seriously hurt by Mothma. When they got that lucky double I would evade it away. In the end, I got the two flotilla and the Pelta on the last turn, along with a few Z95s. Dupy got one of my HHs, and Shara, who heroically stood up to a bunch of fighters for a few rounds. I ended up with the Intel as well.
235-57 CNinja for an 8/3 178 MOV.
This POD was such a pleasure to play in. @JJs Juggernaut , @mhd , and @Dupy are wonderful opponents ALWAYS! Congrats to JJ, and MHD for moving on (Crush POD 8!)
Thank you so much for @BiggsIRL for putting this together again this year.

Why are we pod H8 to you ninja? What did we do to you?

Cue the sick electro-beat:
I saw that you posted this B8 real L8
But now that I’m here, allow me to elaboR8
It is no big deal, I’m not IR8
It is more that I think that POD1 is GR8
But now that you mention it I’ll look at POD8:
I see several friends I could never H8
TMHH was a fine POD3 M8
Met Maturin at Worlds while he had trouble with his G8
Met Rasp at Worlds and we’re pledged to squid F8.
Hmm now I see a Moose, nah you’re right it's H8.

@CaribbeanNinja was a great opponent and played a great game for the consolation prize in our bracket. That Mothma really hurt my limited anti ship firepower. Thank you.
I wish @mhd and @JJs Juggernaut good luck in the coming round!
To the dust bin with this fleet! Or, perhaps make em y wings instead of z's. I'm sure a y wing swarm hasn't been tried before.
And my game with @OutboundFlight is done with 8-3 win for me (251-107 MoV 144). I was a second player and we played Contested Outpost that i was able to hold for all 6 rounds. We both danced around outpost with OutboundFlight doing early round 3 alpha strike to kill my Demolisher and me being able to catch his Quasar with Cymoon round 6. I also lost Ciena and was able to flak down Dengar with two lucky accuracies.
My last pod6 game is over. Played @BillHimclaw yesterday evening and managed to take away a 8:3 with a Mov of 440:275.
I won the bid and choose his Station Assault. A classic 3 out of 3 for him as he told me.
Things started early in the first round. After i did Hondo, Titus and Pryce (Hondo just to trigger entrapment) he did his interdictor stuff (gravs and ozzel with fct) which with squall did a serious punch against my flagship and managed to bring down my front shields and land two hits on the hull, thanks to Speed 0.
After this the game speeded up!?! All ships were at max speed, his quasar with help from titus. My Flagship used token, command and entrapment to go to Speed 3. Massive shootings started round 2. The first volley nearly took out his quasar and put some major damage on one dictor.
The shootings lasted for the whole second and third round. After the third round my Motti flagship and a goz were dead, as were his quasar and piett Flagdoctor.
To round 5 i managed to get out a drive by shot to kill a station and finished his last ship.
This was a highly intense game and i want to thank @BillHimclaw for this. He was a great opponent and i hope that we can do another game in the near future!

A friendly reminder that less than 2 days remain for games to be played in the PODs.
Reporting the penultimate game of pod 4, when Aresius vs Neb ended 111:126, a 5/6.
I chose first player and we played Aresius‘ Advanced Gunnery.
Aresius‘ Bail Organa Lib targeted Admiral Raddus right from deployment and was in position in rd 3 to trigger Bail. In rd 2 I was hoping to escape with my CR90b as Raddus was out of long range, but adv gun meant the Lib could shoot twice on the CR...she‘s dead, Jim.
(Note to self: Dont be too hard on you, Neb, you knew from previous painful experiences what would happen with AG...and yet all better than the other two; massive deployment disadvantage didnt allow me to scatter ships so far away from each other that AG cant target / threaten 2. Ok, could have gone speed one on turn 1 and 2, then at least no long range shots in rd2)
Anyway, brought my Lib out near my doomed Raddus, wondered if I should totally go corner and try trap the other Lib, but never ever underestimate Aresius‘ navigating. So, for once, did the sensible thing, turned away from out-of-game enemy Lib, and threatened multiple ships myself (still Rieekan ships, though).
In the end, and after a stroke of luck when, finally and critically, an enemy squad missed, my second CR was safe and we tallied: Aresius lost 2 HHs, 2 GRs and an A, I lost my flagship HH and a CR90.
Many thx, Aresius, always always tough to play one pf the smartest Armada players I know.
Pod 4 commences tomorrow when Aresius plays Bantha.

It's all coming down to the wire for the remaining games!
@Maturin and I are scheduled for tomorrow 8pm pacific
@rasproteus and I are getting our game in now!

And completed. I tabled @Maturin for a 400-26 win. It really hinged on my Liberty scoring two acc's against his AFM2 and pushing through 3 damage. That combined with a little bit of damage from the CR90B just beforehand and a xx-9 Dodonna to pull a structural and take him to 1 hull, which I was able to ram away. Barely.
After that, his MC30 was forced to chase my Liberty. He hit a rock, I found a structural, and a CR90B ET tagged him to finish him off.
All in all, a great game against a great opponent. It would have gone quite differently if I had not managed to get the perfect roll/damage against his AFM2 before it could Bail activate again the next turn and kill my Liberty. I would have been completely out of position and forced to drag my CR90s through his fighter screen. And Admo.

Updated to here!
@BillHimclaw and I have just finished our match wrapping up the games for Pod 6.
The game ended 440:74 in my favour with one Station destroyed meaning 40pts each of tokens.
MOV 366 for a 10:1 win for me.
I had the bid and chose to go first picking his Station Assault. With his 2 grav wells I deployed all my ships at speed 0 in order to stay away from the asteroids which he could move with Grav shift and also get a chance to his at least one of his Stations.
Bill used Ozzel, FCTs and Squall to launch an Alpha strike on my Toryn+BCC GR75 taking it out whilst still at speed 0. It would end up being the only thing I lost.
Having lunged with his squads I then split my squads into two groups, one to take on his squads and one to line up for his first incoming Interdictor. I kept my ships out on one flank meaning his came at me one by one and between my Pelta and Yavaris fire and bombing runs I was able to kill each ship as they came in. Yavaris survived on just 1 hull but was able to keep just out of range of his flagship on turn 5 before taking the last of the enemy ships at the start of turn 6. Once again I managed to fly my Pelta in for a blocking move causing his Quasar to block his flagship which then kept Yavaris out of range.
Only Jendon managed to escape in the end.
Bill was a really fun opponent to play against and we kept ourselves entertained whilst tackling connection issues with plenty of nerdy jokes
Now it's time for a potato party!
@rasproteus and I have finished our game, ending 460-124 in my favor. I won initiative and chose his contested outpost, and used GSR to pull the station to my side of the board. He bum rushed me with everything he had, but squads were able to whittle down the two rammers before they could fire and ram, and then my full list was able to turn towards the Liberty. A misplay with my quasar (he had no reason to come out from behind his Dictor bulwark) let Rasp get a medium range shot on it on the Bail turn. Dodonna and xx9 is nasty, and allowed him to fish for the structural to bring him down to one health and then finish off with the ram. The dictor and squads were able to grind down the liberty and then the last cr90.
Game finished with a table round 4 and 3 tokens to me, with him killing the quasar, gozanti, and gaining a token of his own. Thanks for the great game Rasp and good luck with the rest of your matches!
@Maturin and I just wrapped up 400-15 to me. I had the bid and chose his hyperspace assault. I was able to take out the HH turn one, and then Admo dropped in the middle of my formation turn 2. His bail turn 2 squads lit Maarek up, but he survived with one hull (lucky!) and was able to move down to start working on Admo with the rest of the fighters. Maturin gave up a side arc shot into the Dictor in favor of flak shots, but missed the critical shot on Maarek which allowed him to keep pestering Admo, eventually killing him top of turn three before retreating to the station. Game wrapped up turn 4 when Gallant Haven took a serious whack from squads, the quasar front arc, and then a ram, leaving it at one hull. With help from the Dictor the Quasar survived the Frigates counterfire and forced it to self ram to death. Thanks for the great games in our pod guys!
Congrats on the clean sweep, @MandalorianMoose . That’s impressive.
