How come this game is unavailable?

Here we go again (this question is asked every other week, or even more often, around here; it's a bit of golden oldies of questions on the forum, heh heh). The game is fine and available from everywhere but FFG. There's a licensing deal in place that prevents FFG from selling IA themselves, so you'll have to make purchases through other retailers. Everything is available elsewhere

Not Available != Out of Stock. FFG webstore just can't sell the game due to their agreement with Hasbro. FFG's physical game store does sell the game just like a myriad of other stores.

I recommend the Risa expansion with all its pretty beaches. The Commander Riker ally pack is one of the best available too.

I started playing pretty recently.

My question: Why do not of the main characters have back stories? I don't want to role play!
