Sharkbelly's Star Wars Minis

By Sharkbelly, in Painting

Thanks! They are mostly gloss black with a few other details.

Next up are Bossk and Sabine.

Looks great! You know a simple trick for weathering vehicles that you might like? Grab a bit of sponge (even cut up a kitchen sponge, whatever, as long as you can get one with the smaller holes you can find) and get a bit of silver or brownish “rust” colored paint, and then dab around edges of vehicles. It gives a nice worn effect! Here is a pic of my AT ST... you can see where I did this along the top edges of the head and legs in particular.

That looks great! I might have to try that. Most of my vehicles look "show room" new.. 🙂

Well you looked like you were doing a bit of weathering already... they’ve got some texture! Just thought it was a useful and simple trick:)

Okay, these are not Legion models, but I had the idea to convert some GW Terminators as Zero-G Spacetroopers.

What do you all think? C and Cs welcome.

I just ordered the Clone Wars set along with Dooku and Rex. I can't wait to get started on them. In the meantime, I'm painting a few more 40K models to use as Star Wars characters.

Bossk & Sabine look really good. I hadn't thought of it before, but that kroot would make a great bounty hunter for Legion. I might have to dig out my copy of him out.

I don’t know how possible it would be but maybe stormtrooper heads on Space Marine bodies might work?

That's an interesting possibility!

Meanwhile, here is another Warhammer 40K model painted up as a character for a party of Star Wars heroes.

Primaris maybe?

Hmm... that's an idea. I might have to check that out.

In the meantime, I finished assembling my Clones.

So Luke is no longer Luke. He has become Ezra.

Here are the Spacetroopers next to a Legion Stormtrooper. I think the scale is pretty good!

How do the gun and the antenna fit onto the squad leader?

There's a slight curve on one side of the antenna mount that fits against the round part at the back of the left shoulder,

The gun fits on the other side, I believe there is a slight slot that the mount fits in.

Okay, thanks for the info. I think I figured it out!

I finished putting Grievous together. I went with pistol and three lightsabers...

I added a couple of removable head swaps so these can be used as RPG characters.
