Sharkbelly's Star Wars Minis

By Sharkbelly, in Painting

Hello!

I am getting into Legion, and will share my painted models here. At the same time, I am re-basing and touching up some old WOTC Star Wars minis at the same time. I have "lifted" the bases by adding a coin to the bottom of each.

(L to R) Male Human Fringer, Warhammer Imperial Guardsman, and Cerean Jedi

The blaster on the far left has been painted using a recipe that others shared. Thanks for the tip! I like how it turned out.

Really like the human fringer. The color combo is strong. Never would have thought of the coin thing.

Thanks! Yeah, we just happen to have one here that fits perfectly. And costs only about a penny each, conversion-wise.

Here is the next set. Two more warhammer figures and a Palace Guard.

Three more minis re-based yesterday.

Twi'lek, Rodian, and Human

that's a short looking rodian,

"Aren't you a little short for a Rodian?" He's kneeling.

I finally picked up my new Legion stuff and have packed it up for transport. This will be my 2019 painting project.

The Wooks are going to be the first unit painted. They have been flocked and are ready for primer. I thought that these guys should paint up quickly and get the ball rolling. 🙂

Here they are with the base colors in place.

The wookiees have gotten some drybrushing and I picked out the metal objects on them as well. Next all the non-fur stuff gets a wash of Nuln Oil.

While working on them, I painted up four vaporators as well.

Up next are the Emperor and his guard.

I decided to go with pallid flesh tones with a wash of purple. We'll see how it turns out!

Here is an update on the Emperor. The skin received a dry brush of pallid flesh, and then I cleaned up his robes with black.

I took a quick break from painting this morning to order the Imperial and Rebel specialists. They can now jump in line at the back of the queue!

Nearly finished with these guys! I'm also trying to paint up a little terrain with each unit.

Here they are all finished.

Do you plan on basing your objective pieces? Do most people base them for that matter?

I don't plan to, so I can use them in all sorts of settings. Anyone else want to chime in?

I base them because the small base is the exact same size as an objective token. So it will play as a literal token.

Alternatively you could just keep using the cardboard tokens and just put the consoles right next to them as thematic scenery.

I suppose I could even paint up the bases in a bright color and use them to designate what the objectives are.

Vader and a squad of Stormtroopers are on the board now. The STs have had a wash and a dry brush so far.
