jyn and new troops
Wasn't personally a fan of Rogue One, but pathfinders are neat
So are they a Corps unit or a Special Forces unit? Kind of surprised at these if this is real.
well i got these pictures from my local retailer cuz preorder deadline is 11/23/18 and i am surprised that there was no news on it so far
Hm. Another trooper unit is an odd choice, but who knows. I'm a fan of rogue one so we'll see.
If this is real then surely Krennic and Death Troopers can't be far behind.
Edit: Jyn as a commander though? eh... Didn't seem like much of a leader in the movie. Would've expected her to be an operative.

Thanks. I can quit digging through my usual sources.
So looking forward to Pathfinders. We will see about Jyn as she didn't really lead any battles.
Well I hope this means we will be getting Shore Troopers as opposed to a "Super-Sized" version of the Rogue One Death Troopers recently released for Imperial Assault.
My wish was that we would see a squad release of Imperial Navy Troopers. I want more than just the one coming in the Imperial Specialist expansion. I want at least 2 squads regardless of abilities.
For those who are interested, @Skullforge has pretty much created the entire cast of Rogue One in his Shapeways shop. Jyn, Cassian, Saw, Chirrut, Baze, Bohdi, K2-SO, Krennic and Tarkin. He even created Pathfinders and Troopers as replacements for the 1.4F and E-Web. Skull Forge Studios also has Shore Troopers, Death Troopers and Pathfinders in multiple poses.
@melminiatures offers a squad of Death Troopers in his Shapeways shop as well. Mel Miniatures offers a variety of poses and are an accurate scale and realistic detail. Fans of the Prequels and animated series can find some amazing sculpts and replacement options.
Edited by C3POFETTRebel Pathfinders
QuoteSpies, saboteurs, and assassins, the Rebel Pathfinders are the most elite—and the most deadly—of the Alliance’s soldiers. These grizzled combat veterans need unwavering dedication to their cause in order to endure the horrors of their operations and missions. Those for volunteered for the Battle of Scarif in particular were willing to sacrifice everything for the dream of the Rebellion. With the Rebel Pathfinders Unit Expansion, you can sneak behind enemy lines and hit the Empire where it’s most vulnerable. This expansion features six finely sculpted Rebel Pathfinder miniatures, enough for one special forces unit. You’ll also find a unit card and an assortment of upgrade cards, inviting you to outfit your Rebel Pathfinders for any operation.
Jyn Erso
QuoteThe shadow of the Death Star looms across the galaxy, threatening any planet that doesn’t fall in line with the Empire. Only those brave—and perhaps foolish—enough to stand against the Empire can hope to save the galaxy from this technological terror. Raised by the extremist Saw Gerrera and on her own from a young age, Jyn Erso embodies both of these qualities. Reckless and aggressive, Erso is nonetheless a brave leader who can contribute to your Star Wars: Legion battle plans in many ways. Within the Jyn Erso Commander Expansion, you’ll find one finely sculpted, easily assembled Jyn Erso miniature to lead your Rebel army into battle, complete with three new command cards. Along with Jyn Erso, you’ll find the associated unit card and four upgrade cards for you to enhance Jyn Erso and your other units.
They mention "behind enemy lines"... I wonder if there will be some deployment shenanigans.

Sorry, forgot to post the link. Was posted to Reddit.

Sounds like Pathfinders will be Special Forces.
So I'm going to assume, after reading that product description, that Jyn is a Commander because she "led" the raid on Scarif. Probably has some rules to synergize with whatever deployment shenanigans the Pathfinders can do. Kinda "meh" about more troopers but could be fun mechanics with these two.
I think those that are gushing about Krennic/Deathttoopers after this are probably correct. Would make sense. Although I would chuckle if they released Shoretroopers instead of Deathtroopers. Lol
As for the rest of the Rogue One crew, I would guess that Cassian Andor would be an Operative. Cant really think of any Imperial counterparts to him from Rogue One so perhaps they will start releasing more of the classic bounty hunters as Operatives.

Krennic could be in fact an operative, he is given the mission to build a combat station, he uses subterfuges like kidnapping and threatenning to achieve his goals, even trying to fool Vader... not much like giving orders in a battle, at least no more than jyn... and the Rogue One commander could be easily Moff tarkin instead!!!!
Is this legit? Either way, it would make sense if so- we see a death trooper in the fragmentation grenade picture so we know that unit is coming to the game and would be a mirror to these pathfinders.
I was hoping to see more vehicles sooner but I could get behind Krennic and death troopers. ?
Edited by Jman444I'm not a fan of the same releases for each faction, just asymmetric in abilities. I hope this is just because the game is "new", but I have my doubts. This could be the way they release units the entire time. I'd rather see releases for the factions based off what the faction needs/ what makes sense thematically or most popular...it doesn't have to be the same units released each time

Very good point. I hope that after these first few units are released we will get more faction diversity.
So.... how are pathfinders different to commandos?
I though commandos were introd with the 'spies, saboteurs, assassins ' line.
I’m hoping for Shore troopers and maybe Tarkin or Krennic. Krennic would go better with deathtroopers but they’re more special forces. For pathfinders i just want a squad of dudes with these cool helmets.

Well, not definitive, but the two product codes in the first image (SWL31 and SWL 32) are the next two in line after the premium bases (which are the current highest product codes on FFGs site).
Quote
Specialists are 26 and 27. Premiuim bases are 28 and 29. So we are still missing SWL 30 if I'm not mistaken.
But since it is a single code, probably it will be something neutral or some game accessory
So what Heavy Weapons do we think the Pathfinders will have?
