AT-RT barricade climb/clamber

By Big Easy, in Rules

As a climbing vehicle, an AT-RT can climb like a trooper unit. So to step over a barricade, would it just move into contact with it, then spend one action or two (clamber or climb) to place it in contact with the other side? Would it just be difficult movement since it's less than half the height of the mini? Or would it have to spend actions to climb up AND down?

In the RRG (pg 9) it says that Barricades are ‘open’ terrain for ground vehicles. ATRTs can move through them with no penalty.

Out of interest how do you manage overlap with open terrain like barricades?

Do you have to move back until the front of the base is touching the barricade if you can't quite get past it with your movement actions?

There was an email from Alex saying you move vehicles back along the template so they fit. Same goes for comp moves and you do not suffer damage as a result. It's not official, but we also don't have an official rule on how to solve this.

Thanks

That ruling makes sense for, barricades, but might not work for larger pieces of terrain. The whole “base must lie perfectly flat”thing doesn’t make much sense with anything other than 2d card terrain.

I guess with larger pieces, the terrain will be classed as Open, Difficult or Impossible. In the event any other terrain is Open or Difficult such as barricades, but can’t have a base placed on it (I’m thinking Crates, Walls , Hedges etc.) you could apple the same ruling.
