I won this 3D Printed Dice Tower/Terrain thingy in a league. First time painting a 3D printed thing.

That came out good. Needs a chopper in there though. Congrats on winning the league.

Well our Painting Contest was a lot of fun. The challenges we did were:

• Paint with your non-dominant hand. 1 Hour Limit.
• Paint with a large brush. 30 Minute Limit
• Grayscale only. 1 hour limit.
• Only paint in different shades of the same color (Blue, Red, or Yellow). 30 minutes.
• Paint the best mini you can. 30 minutes.

And because everyone asks, here is my responses to the most frequently asked questions about this figure:

• No it's not based on Luke from the Storms of Crait comic. I just like Crait, wanted to give him a cape to stand out.
• The colors are loosley inspired by Chopper from Rebels.
• I got the acrylic rod for the lightsaber at recreatorstudios.com
• To create the base I did the following:
  • Paint base red
  • Apply Citadel's Agrellan Earth
  • Let it dry
  • Drybrush/paint with a super light gray until there is no more brown left
  • drybrush on some white over that
  • touch up some details with more red (like the foot swipe).

This is awesome! I'm planning on doing my Rebels as the Alderaan Rebel Cell on Crait as well and was planning on doing this very technique! I'm really glad that it appears to work very well!

Wait wait wait... In the picture, next to Han Solo, are those crates - on Crait?!?!?!?!? ?

hard to tell in the pics but the blaster craters are actually 3D. heated up a scredriver and pressed it into the base. not super happy with how it turned out so probably won't be doing that again.

Colors for this one based on Captain Rex.

I just shaved down the peg/hole so I could rotate it how I wanted.

The first thing that pops into my head will always be "I'm sure this is probably your first flight, and it's uh, mine too [ha ha]."

Added a vulptex to my turret. Did my best to make it as shiny and sparkly as I could. Doesn't show up on camera that well.
