I Have You Now - Not-so-new (but still opinionated) Armada blog

By Green Knight, in Star Wars: Armada

I am, as always, fashionably late to the party.

This time it's the Blog party I'm late to.

Here I intend to share my thoughts about all things Armada.

I'm opinionated. Fortunately I'm also almost always right (except when I argue with the wifey).

Expect a slight Empire bias - I don't think its a better faction per se, I just find Imps more fun to play.

Without further ado:

I haven't quite figured out how often I will update, or what my main focus will be, so for now I'm just writing a bunch of different stuff to get into the swing of things:

Welcome: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/welcome.html

Upcoming local tourney: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/local-tourney-11-feb-2018.html

A little bit about Worlds 2018: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/last-time-i-went-to-any-kind-of-worlds.html

Something concerning Vassal and TTS: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/online-armada-vassal-tts.html

Good luck with it! I will follow you up!

Nice work, Greenie.

Well you could have been a guest author on Archive of Ossus, but noooooo.

Also why is this not gitgud.com?

Is that like... a real blog?

Oh, yes it is.

Oc, I knew that.

The home of Ackbar SDs.

Duh me.

Maybe I can cross-post something? As in if I ever write an really interesting article?

Unlikely, but if the Force wills it...

I will make a post about skill having an effect on the outcome of games... both general Armada skills and practice with a specific list/against likely archetypes.

Just buy it and redirect to steelstrategy.com.

I've begun working on some wave 7 articles:

Some general wave 7 stuff: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/armada-wave-7-grand-admiral-arrives.html

The Chimaera expansion specifically: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/armada-wave-7-grand-admiral-arrives.html

And the first entry in the "upgrade" series, where I take a closer look at individual cards, sharing my experiences and doing some heavy theorycrafting!

Instructor Goran: https://armadaihaveyounow.blogspot.no/2018/02/wave-7-upgrades-instructor-goran.html

(the Goran article is an updated version - released a "test" version yesterday)

I love it when people actually get the quotes :)

Also Toryn bloody Farr.

Bank a bunch of those instead of publishing them right away. You'll thank yourself later, when you find you haven't written anything for a month. When you found you just banged out two columns all of a sudden, bank them if they're not news or time-sensitive, and release the two oldest article from the bank. A blog needs a steady stream of new posts, even if the writing isn't completely fresh.

The bloom will come off the rose and writing for the blog will feel like work, instead of fun. Prepare for this!

It's a good tip. THE best tip in online "serials".

It never worked for me. Not when I did other blogs, not when I did serialized novels and novellas.

But you know, I'll try it again this time.

I'm saving SOME stuff for later... I just want some basic content now that I've begun. And wave 7 has me all eager and giddy.
