Star Wars: Revan's War IC

By Rabobankrider, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

Muu would be very excited for Master Vrook to finally announce he's a Padawan! The young Iktotchi was feeling rather accomplished up until the Master would pause staring at him in mid-sentence. " Was he aware of what took place in my trial? " he would question. Eager to board the ship after that awkward pause Muu would notice Huyang greeting the Padawans. " Wow, a droid lightsaber master! ". Muu would listen to Huyang speak as he look over the workshop in search of diagrams. The young Padawan was not as mechanically incline as the others however, sought to give his crystal life!

Muu would spend sometime having Huyang explain each of the component names and functions. He was trying to develop a utilitarian understanding of lightsaber mechanics. Meanwhile, observing internally if he was drawn any direction to the explanations. Realizing that he was having Huyang repeat himself a few times, Muu would take a breathe and quite himself. The Padawan would see in his mind's eye a hilt that would have more control in the palm of his hand rather than his larger than normal humanoid fingers. Muu would see himself swinging this blade with more precision and flexibility in unorthodox angles. Enthusiastically, he would move deeper into his mind's eye. Muu would see himself using defensive foot-work strategies, parrying with a crossguard, and disarming his opponents. As Muu returned focus to the workshop, he would try to describe to Huyang what he saw. Huyang would provide the young Padawan with a few suggestions on what would match his descriptions.

Muu would run to the shelves to see what was available in relationship to Huyang's advice. The Pawadan had to pick up each component and sense if any would resonate internally. Muu would abruptly hone into his precognitive ability. He would see a vision of his lightsaber being a crossguard with two quillon blades with one at 45 degrees and the other 90 degrees in comparison to the main plasma blade. As he returned, impressed, he would yell at Huyang " I'm going to need a splitter that can handle both 45 degree and 90 degree angle for my quillons! " not aware of being a hassle in the slightest. After running back and forth between the draws and Huyang multiple times, he would realize he would need a adequate power cell for a crossguard. " Will this power cell work? How about this power cell? Could this power cell work for my crossguard ?" discovering a final match the fifth try. Muu would further test Huyang's patience searching for a specialized power modulator as the splitter. "Wait, what does it look like again? Is this it? I know that is the magnetic stabilizing ringy-thing! Just testing" as he smiled. Muu would be drawn to a curved hilt during the search as if it chose him. The xeno-agreeable ergonomic handgrip provided the palm centric control he sought! Pausing conversation with Huyang he would say " Woooooooooo ". After a few minutes more Muu would discover all of the necessary components on the shelf and prepare for construction.

Optimistic Muu would sit at workshop reviewing everything Huyang had told him. Eagerly, Muu would attempt with telekinetics to assemble the construction of his lightsaber. The Pawadan would realize multiple times in creation he had misaligned the emitter matrix. "Nope! Scratch that! We can't have that!" appearing as a eight year old mad scientist talking to his creation. " Your an extension of my life and resolve, not taking it! " as he would disassemble it with telekinesis. Upon correction, Muu would run into the next issue. "Why won't these energy modulation circuits communicate with the blade and power adjusters!" laughing at how his crossguard quillions are bizarrely emitting. "Ahhhhhh, fixed it" as if the circuitry was nothing. Finally, with great focus, Muu would be moving his Ilum crystal into its crystal chamber. The Padawan would guide the crystal with telekinesis first into the crystal chamber and realize the precision required to place it on its mount with a curved hilt. "Almost most there.." . The Ilum crystal would move between the energy gates landing onto its crystal mount! Happy, Muu would gently pivot crystal within the crystal mount. The Ilum crystal would start to create this musical frequency as if it was singing. He would internally say " Cool, I wonder what I just did? ". Muu would seal all of the components in mid air realizing his lightsaber is finally finished floating before him.

The Padawan would hold his lightsaber extending his arm up and ignite the activation button. The crossguard saber would ignite a long central green plasma blade; the splitter would have two green quillion blades rise from the emitter shrouds at a 45 degree and 90 degree angle from a curved hilt. This would signify a extension of Muu's resolve; it was tool, a connection of the force he would wield in the trials to come. The completion would sweep a sense of harmony across the young Iktotchi boy. Where will he go from here?

“…Well, that just happened.”

Maybe it was installing the stabilizing ring a bit too loose. Maybe the power cell’s output was a bit too much.

Walden thought he had the lightsaber ready to go, but a press of the activation button only gave the sound of a short before falling silent.

As he takes the pieces apart, Walden sees sections fried beyond repair. Thankfully, the crystal was alright and Walden pulled it out from the dead parts with a disappointed sigh.

He had hoped that Huyang’s assistance was not needed, but it seems that help was needed after all. For now, Huyang was busy helping the others. So, Walden looks towards the stacks of cabinets that Huyang has. It had a vast assortment of parts, perfect for trying again…and an idea starts forming in Walden’s head.

“Maybe I can find some other parts…”

Rummaging through the cabinets, Walden finds nothing of notice. And as he starts to get frustrated again, Walden remembers back to how he found his crystal.

“Focus, Walden. They have to be here somewhere.”

And as he takes a moment to look, Walden sees a cabinet that is open on the higher sections.

“There. That should be it.”

He uses the other cabinets as a stepping stone before getting to the cabinet in question. And in there, not only does Walden find replacement parts, but finds a couple of parts that don’t seem to have any significance at first.

Walden thinks about the parts, but something pulls him towards those parts, as if the Force itself was telling him to grab them.

And so, he does. Making his way down, Walden is ready to remake his lightsaber all over again.

Unfortunately, he forgets that cabinets should be closed after being open, and everyone hears a thud in the room. As for Walden, that knock to the head should remind him of that lesson.

After making sure the cabinets are closed, Walden asks for Huyang’s help in building the lightsaber. With the parts and Huyang’s help, he tries again.

Despite the pain being a distraction, the parts swirl around the air, and fly as the Force puts them in place. The lightsaber floats, ready for Walden to grab it. As soon as he grabs it, Walden notes that the hilt seems to fit perfectly in his hands. Those extra parts were quite useful indeed. As soon as the switch is flipped, a blue beam of light shines out of the hilt. It may not be the most impressive lightsaber compared to the rest of his compatriots, but to Walden, it’s still an important achievement.

“With this lightsaber, I can protect those who need it now..."

"The lightsaber is an extension of ones body." Tiberius remembered his master saying as he gathered the nessecary parts for his saber. He also decided to grab a few counterweights to better balance the saber it woould rnnder it more accurate and easier to co trol allowing Tiberius greater prescicion in hs attacks.

Tiberius saw that some of the other padawans were crafting crossguard sabers and briefly contemplated the idea before setting his heart on what he believed to be the best design for him. A regular saber coated in white beskar plating, a slightly longer than normal hilt, and finally weights placed throught it to balance it.

With help from Huyang, Tiberius was able to build the saber to the best of his ability. It handled better than he could have dreamed. He ignited the saber and a black blade emerged, scared as he had never seen a black lightsaber before, Tiberius quickly extinguishes the blade and clips the hilt to his belt.

As Svae goes about creating his lightsaber he carefully holds his crystal like the dear friend that it is.

With Huyang's help Svae successfully creates his lightsaber hilt. Svae inserts his crystal into the hilt and flips the switch.

The saber hums into existence. Oh Perig. There you are in all your glory. We'll have many adventures together.

As they come to the end of the expedition clips Perig to his belt and Svae prepares for the years ahead.

Assembling the hilt of a lightsaber can be a complex task for younglings. Some have to try multiple times, or so Gunda is told repeatedly by Master Huyang in one of the lectures he insists on giving before the initiates are allowed to begin the work in ernest.

When it comes to it, assembling the hilt of his lightsaber comes easy for Gunda, and he is fairly certain he wouldn’t have needed Master Huyang’s assistance in assembling a perfectly serviceable hilt. He selects a solid dark durasteel-metal alloy for the hilt itself, using the Force to assemble the components inside the cylinder. He insists on installing a button with a selector switch. In the normal setting he can activate the saber by keeping pressure on the selector, which will cause the blade to retract again when the saber is dropped. But when the selector is flipped, the blade will stay on even if dropped, which Gunda thinks might come in handy one day.

After finishing his work in mere hours, Gunda is satisfied and ignites his saber for the first time. The pale blue blade that extends exactly one meter from the emitter looks deceptively cold, but Gunda can feel its destructive power through the Force. As he tries his new weapon, sparring against droids and even against other pupils, taking care not to injure anyone, he slowly comes to appreciate the connection he has with the lightsaber, thanks to the crystal he found on Ilum.

Gunda tries to be modest, but he does allow himself to be proud to have finished building his lightsaber in such a short time. Well, and in the fact that the advice and guidance of the Jedi Master may have allowed him to build his weapon a little quicker than he would have been able to on his own, but that he would have been able to construct the hilt by himself regardless of the assistance.

OOC: This reflects the fact that the two ability dice rolled would have succeeded against the two difficulty dice ( see roll here ). Also the fact that the two proficiency dice resulted in three advantages, cutting down on the time it took Gunda to finish, but not affecting the success of the outcome.

Matt once looks through a manual on Lightsabers and notices one that calls to him, a cross-guard. he gathers the necessary tools and parts, gets Huyang for assistance and builds a cross-guard that is more customize able than most sabers. when he ignites it it is white. his vision comes back to him. why! at every turn it comes. fate just wants to taunt me. there's no hope for me.

Kataddik spent the entirety of the trip studying manuals and schematics trying to figure out what the different parts did, and how they worked, asking questions when he didn't understand something (which was often), practicing various construction techniques, and simply learning the ins and outs of the electronics and crafting techniques needed before finally attempting to build his lightsaber using a shaft of black Worshyr wood as the hilt. It took him two tries, but it finally worked. The style was very archaic looking, large, with a D-guard along the hilt. He hit the activation plate, igniting a pale, almost white blade with only the slightest hint of blue.

As The Crucible returned tot he mighty temple of Corouscant, the Padawan would undoubtedly feel pride fill their chests. They had achieved what only a fraction of the galaxy could even dream of doing, they have proven themselves worthy of becoming Jedi. From this day forth, their actions had the potential to send ripples through the galaxy that could be felt for hundreds, even thousands of years to come.

However, these Jedi were not the only ones that could change the face of the galaxy. The Mandalorians had grown restless, they wanted battle, battle for honour and for blood, and it was under the indomitable leadership of Mandalore the Ultimate, they united under one banner. Mandalorians had always been a violent warrior people, both the Taung and their followers, but it was under Mandalore the Ultimate that they begun to get brazen with their efforts. They had been attacking planets in the Outer Rim for years, baiting the Republic into war. When they chose to ignore the efforts, the Mandalorians would not accept this, and their attacks became more violent and closer to home. As the boot heel of Mandalore moved closer and closer to Taris, finally the armies of the Republic stirred for war. The Republic quickly realized exactly how outmatched they were, and petitioned the Jedi for help. The council refused, not wanting a religion based on peace and balance to be dragged into war. They had no choice, at least that was their view.

Unsurprisingly, many Jedi disagreed wholeheartedly with this, and under the charismatic leadership of Revan 'the Revanchist', great swathes of the order marched into war. Those that left did not return from this war, exiled by the council. Even if they survived this bloody conflict, they had nowhere to return to. Finally, it seemed that the tide of battle had changed, but only just. The Mandalorian's still were winning the war, slowly but surely, until the battle of Malachor V, the battle to end the war. At tremendous cost to both sides, a terrible weapon was used to turn the planet into little more than storm-wracked rubble, surrounded by a ship graveyard. It was a victory though, and the Mandalorians accepted their unconditional surrender. Mandalore was lost to Revan's blade, his mask hidden away to prevent a new Mandalore rising. The clans were systematically disarmed, Basalisk droids destroyed by their own hands. It seemed that it was all over, that the Republic had peace, but Revan was not convinced. He took almost a third of the Republic fleet into the unknown regions claiming to hunt the remnants of the Mandalorian forces. That was almost two years ago. Since then the Republic and the Order has begun to repair, rebuild. There is a lot of work to done, and none could have predicted that they would have such little time to do so.

The Padawans that had passed their trials on Ilum had quickly gone their separate ways, now free of the temple. Even if they did not join the war, there was still a lot of work to be done. Now, two years after the end of the war, their masters recieve a message from one Master Vandar, council member and resident to the Dantooine Conclave. It seemed that the Padawans were to receive a mission from the council. Perhaps an opportunity to go on a mission alone? Such things at this stage had been rare. With the war and the abandonment of the order by so many, even the most reckless of masters had been keeping a close eye on their Padawans. They would each arrive over a period of one week with their masters on the truly stunning grassy planet. Their masters would leave them to their own devices, free to wander the Conclave as they proceeded to a number of secretive meetings. They each had a comfortable, if a little barren room to sleep in for temporary stay. Finally, on one day as the sun rose, they were awoken by their masters, instructed to proceed to the Conclaves Dock for an important briefing. It was a pleasant day today, a warm breeze blowing across the grassy planes as a few fluffy clouds passed lazily overhead. When the Padawans arrived, their masters would be waiting for them.

Gaze again lets out a startled cry as his Master let out an ear piercing bellow in the confines of his quarters. "Bwah!!!" Gaze flips over, tangling up in his blanket momentarily. Even after so many years, the Master still seemed able to catch him unawares. Gaze suspected he used the Force to predict the most opportune time to startle his Padawan. He glowered at his Master. "I'm awake!! I'm awake!!" He threw his pillow at his Master in annoyance, not at all surprised to see it stop several feet from his Master's face, and go hurling back at him. "Oof!" Gaze let out, as it thwapped into his head.

" Awake is not enough" Master Plah Nahk replied, his Ithorian voice sounding especially smug as he dolled out another bit of "wisdom". " Up, alert, and doing is also required. Now prepare yourself and head to the Conclaves Dock. There is much to discuss"

"Yes Mas---oof!" Gaze began, stopping as his pillow animated again and smacked him in the back of the head. "I hope you get laryngitis!" He cries out to his retreating Master. "With four vocal chords, I bet that would be the worst! And I wouldn't heal you by the way!" He mutters and grumbles, never one for mornings. He sighs and gets up, going about his morning ablutions. He puts on his white/tan garments and white concealing robe. The robe has red trims along the cuffs of the sleeves, and along the inside of the hood. He leaves the hood down, letting his close cropped hair stand out in the morning air. He gathers his equipment and heads to the location in question.

In the years since Terlyn Olbark, the Jedi Knight Gunda saved from a cell on Nar Shaddaa, had requested the Dug as his Padawan, Gunda only asked him once why he had chosen to make him his Padawan. The two had one thing and one thing alone in common. Both were thrill seekers, eager for danger and adrenalin. But where Gunda’s love was fast speeders and starships, Terlyn thrived infiltrating enemy outposts, spying on those suspected to work against the Jedi order and getting away undetected.

When Gunda asked his master why he had chosen the Dug as a Padawan he had finally become frustrated enough with his teaching methods (or, in Gunda’s opinion, lack thereof) and the endless risks the human seemed to love taking. His master, still high on the rush from a narrow escape, had smiled at his Padawan and told him that it wasn’t his intention to train a replacement. He considered it his role to allow Gunda to find his own path and develop the talents he felt were needed in his line of work. He told him that he had never expected the Dug to be helpful infiltrating a social gathering or hack into a security system. But he did admit that he found it useful to have a getaway driver for some of his riskier work.

There was much need to Jedi of Terlyn’s talent in the buildup to the war, and that need only increased after Revan went to war with so many Jedi from the order. With the Jedi order on the sidelines of a galactic conflict, all they could do was watch and gather intelligence. And nobody was better at that than Terlyn.

After the start of the war, the Jedi Knight and his Padawan increasingly found themselves surveying battles and battlefield, fleet buildups and transit points from The Rowdy Nexu , a tiny shuttle which was little more than a small cockpit, a single bunk and a refresher bolted on to a pair of oversized engines and a better hyperdrive than was normally available for such small vessels. It did have powerful scanners and transmitter, which Terlyn used to good effect surveying fleet movement.

The pair would frequently be called upon for planet-bound missions as well, since they were uniquely suited to breaking through planetary blockades with Terlyn’s talent for tactics and Gunda’s impressive piloting skills. They were frequently called upon to survey battlefields and the aftermath of battle. More than once they had to fight their way through when they were discovered, but thanks to impressive fighting skills and particularly insane piloting they always managed to return to the Jedi Temple, more often than not with valuable intelligence.

Gunda can’t help thinking about the last mission, as he responds to the summons by Master Vandar. He is, as usual, dressed in his piloting suit, but as he is headed to an important meeting he has also put on his dark-brown robes. Keeping up appearances is important. Or so his master always told him.

On their last mission together, less than three weeks ago, they had boarded a heavily damaged cruiser that was, for a time, Revan’s flagship. It was a broken hulk, floating through space at the time they boarded it, following a hunch his master had that there might be information in the navicomputer or any personal logs still left that might give some indication of where Revan might have taken his followers. Gunda shudders as he thinks about the dead bodies of the crewmen still floating around in the abandoned ship, frozen in time for years.

He tries to shake the image from his head as he walks to the location where the meeting was to take place. His master is waiting there, and with him are other Jedi Knights and Masters. Some familiar, others less so. Gunda does see a familiar face amongst them, and nods and winks at Gaze as he passes him by and walks to his master. “Master. It’s a shame the boffins couldn’t find anything useful on those drives. But we saw how damaged they were. Getting something was unlikely, even assuming there was any information on them in the first place. Unless there is something you’re not telling me?” Gunda whispers to his master. But Terlyn simply gives him a look that he has seen many times before. The look tells him to drop the subject and concentrate on the matter at hand. Which Gunda does, standing almost patiently with his master, waiting for Master Vandar.

Kataddik spent his morning as he always did, practicing his sword katas. He'd started combining the single blade techniques he had learned in his youth with his sword more and more in combination with his lightsaber, wielding both in fluid defensive motions ideal for deflecting blasters, combined with the powerful blows naturally provided by his great strength. Since he was essentially learning an entirely new style, practicing these new techniques took time, and thus, his actual offensive skill didn't improve as much as he'd like. And, while his skills with the Force haven't improved much, he had managed to learn several new combat techniques particularly dealing with targets at range, as well as tricks to "dissuading" opponents from a fight. It would be hard-pressed for someone to call it a "form", but it suited Kataddik fine. He had also taken time for some much needed education in the art of weapon-smithing, not much, but it was a start. His master had been the Jedi who had initially freed him from his captors. The Jedi had refused to even allow Kataddik to swear the traditional life debt, cutting him off before the big Wookiee could even utter the words. Instead, he had taken Kataddik as an apprentice, and, as he was want to do, had decided to basically "throw him into the deep end", so to speak, having him enter the gathering trial. This "sink or swim" style seemed to be his master's preferred training method, and would continue throughout Kataddik's "training". To this day, Kataddik still doesn't know what story his wily old Master had told Master Vrook to get Kataddik into the Gathering trial.

Now, he was here on Dantooine. Heeding the call, he finishes his last Kata before heading to the enclave's docks.

' I wonder what the council is planning sending Padawans on a mission... As of late this is very uncharacteristic behavior from them' Zoroku would think to himself as he stared in the expanse that was the plains of Dantooine, His Master was told by the council that he had been selected for a mission and needed to report at once to Master Vandar on Dantooine. ' Xira made it seem as it was urgent and she was never one to exaggerate. Maybe the Jedi were spread thin. This would make sense since the war has left a great scar on this part of the Galaxy.' He turned to face Xira before she even entered the room, he had become close to the woman he called master and could tell when her presence was near.

" Good Morning Xira, I see you are finally awake, we can now commence travel to the Dock." He said in his standard cold tone. " Morning Zoroku, we will be heading out as soon as I'm ready, I don't know how you have so much energy with how little you sleep. " Xira said with a smile, she was dressed in her robes but she still had the look of someone who just got out of bed.

"Xira, Do you have any idea why Master Vandar would summon the aid of Padawans?" Xira's face told Zoroku all he needed to know, the heat signature and her expression told him that she didn't know, however knowing the manners he had been taught by Xira he would let her finish her thoughts in stead of finishing them for her. " No I wasn't briefed... just told I should come to Dantooine and bring my Padawan". Zoroku knew she would likely know if she had decided to take the council's invitation to join them, it still baffled him that she would refuse to sit with them. " I find it odd that he would choose Padawans to do any task..." Zoroku now folded his arms in front of him and scratched his Chin. " Doubting your skill Zoroku?" The Smile leaving her face as she assesses her Padawan's words, though she had known him for seventeen years his lack of emotional inflection in his voice made it hard to pinpoint his feelings in just words.

" No" , Zoroku said ' I doubt His judgement... ' Xira smiles again reassured that her apprentice had faith in himself, when she leaves the room Zoroku goes about gathering his belongings so they may leave as soon as possible to the Dock.

Tiberius and Shaal walked side by side through the halls to the dock. "Master, if the council is so rich, why do we have to use public transportation all the karking time?" Shaal just smiled his annoyingly smug smile, "It builds patience." Tiberius just looks at him through the small slits in his helmet that serve as eyeholes, "The other Jedi I have met since my return say you were more than willing to fly a starfighter during the war." Shaal's smile vanishes, "Well, don't believe everything you hear." The two share a chuckle as they disembark from the transport. "I'm just glad you didn't go full Mando with your armor." Shaal mutters, "We'd be dead the second we stepped on that thing." Tiberius laughs, "Well I couldn't have that happen. How would that look to the council, your first padawan dead twice?" Shaal just gives him a look and their conversation stops as they continue on their way.

As they walked through the halls to the council, Tiberius could feel the hate and anger and resentment radiating from the others. It seemed not all wounds healed in time, or at least two years. He and Shaal entered the turbolift leading up to the council docks and waited in silence.

Muu gently awakens to his Master's presence without either speaking a word. With his eyes still shut, he could hear Master Zear sniffing around his room. Muu would think to himself " Is that sneaky Shistavanen already on the prowl? " aware she was trying to identify where he's been by scent. Muu would often walk in unusual environments with bizarre odors and greet others on purpose to generate a complexity of aromas for his Master. He preferred if she would just ask Muu rather than pick up the scent however, in response, turned it into a game. Master Zear would pause from her investigation quietly. Muu thought to himself " Busted! She must of heard a shift in my breathing pattern " with a grin forming on his face. Muu would snarl " Master " in shistavanenese. He would return to basic " Is it not a little early to begin collecting rocks on Dantooine? " as his sarcastic grin would grow opening his eyes. His master had a rather extensive mineral collection and together Muu would help add to it. Master Zear would give her "pupil cub" the look. Composed, she would bark " Master Vandar has summoned us to the docks " in shistavanenese. Muu had requested his Master to speak primarily in shistavanenese as a youngling. He thought it would be best for him to clarify Master Zear's "opinions". She had the tendency to communicate in a offensively opinionated manner to the other Jedi. In return, Master Zear always appeared to be aggressively growling, barking, and snarling at her apprentice. Muu would just sit there seemingly unaffected by her tone in a calm manner.

Muu would respond " Yes, master. Oh! Do you mind handing me those robes in your hand? " maintaining his sarcastic grin. Enthusiastic, he would get dressed quickly and spend a little more time on his appearance. Muu had a decorative Pawadan silka bead braid with charms he had collected on his adventures. The boy soon noticed his Master looked nice as well. Muu was always impressed when Master Zear was not in her survival "clothing".

Together both would proceed outside to the docks. Muu would observe the huge clouds roll by before noticing other attendees at the docks. Muu would snarl in shistavanenese " Master... " then basic "' Please don't insult or intimidate the other Padawans " Muu would pause thinking... " Or Masters ". Master Zear would not respond to Muu's comment and both would continue together to the docks.

The day always starts with meditation and it's always just before sunrise. Master Muund always says, " Stars, and therefore suns, are embodiments of the force. Givers of life on planets otherwise desolate. We would do well to reflect on the force in their light. " Sometimes Svae meditates with Master Muund and sometimes they meditate separately, but Svae's faithful Loth-cat Gwode always sits with him. He found her injured on the plains of Lothal when Svae and Master Muund were there studying Prairie and grassland ecosystems. They also happened to be on a diplomatic mission to Lothal at the time, but knowledge always comes first.

Today they are together inside Svae's room. They are up before the rise of the sun by about an hour. As the sun rises over the plains and enters in through Svae's window, Master Muund speaks. " We have been summoned to the docks for a briefing. We should leave now as it does not do to be late." "Yes Master"

They both rise along and head towards the docks walking at a calm measured pace with Gwode trailing just behind Svae.

At the plains of Dantooine, Walden Albright is practicing his swordsmanship with the lightsaber that has been there since his trip to Illum years ago. Rocks come towards him, flying from multiple directions. With quick, efficient movements, the blue blade slices through some rocks while Walden moves his body slightly to dodge others. To train with Soresu was to be in the eye of the storm, able to keep cool under pressure. It helped that Walden had trained his senses to anticipate the trajectory the rocks were taking. Unlike many others, who developed their Force Sense to read the thoughts of others, Walden used it to figure out when strikes or shots would come.

"Reading minds can give you an edge, but the mind is imperfect and can be controlled. You may think you have an advantage, when you may have lowered your guard, Walden. Focus on what is, not what will be."

The rocks still come, yet Walden prevents them from landing a hit on him.

And some distance away sits a cross-legged Hanji Sellas, strumming along on a stringed instrument that sits across his legs. He plays a tune while Walden practices, seemingly just enjoying himself on these plains. But one notices that when a string is plucked, a rock flies towards Walden. Practice and pleasure, all at work.

"So, my young Padawan, after this, Master Vandar wishes to speak to us at the docks." Hanji says, still strumming along.

"I see." Walden replies, slashing through 2 rocks while dodging a third one. "Any particular reason why, Master?"

"Not in the slightest." 3 more rocks come and fly towards Walden, who dodges them easily.

"Maybe it's another law enforcement or peacekeeping mission."

"I doubt it. Plus, I'd rather avoid repeating Serranos again, Walden." More rocks sail towards Walden.

"Oh come on, my flying wasn't that bad." Walden cuts through more rocks while switching his positioning enough to dodge the rest.

"I don't recall bumping the sides of a freighter into asteroids being regarded as 'good flying'". More and more rocks come flying, while Hanji's tune speeds up into a pitch.

"Then it's a good thing I'm training to be a pilot, right?" The rocks still rain, keeping Walden on his toes. Talking, slicing, and dodging is difficult to do, all at one time.

"Perhaps. Still, I don't think my good friend Nory will let you fly his freighter anytime soon." The tune went into its climax, punctuated with rocks coming in from all directions.

Walden senses the timing of the rocks and prioritizes which ones are important. In a few seconds, the tune ends and Walden stands, not a scratch on him.

"Still, you did do well on that mission." Hanji says, propping the instrument up on a nearby rock. He dusts himself off while getting up.

"Couldn't have done it without Nory's daughter, you know." Walden replies, turning off his lightsaber and heading towards Hanji.

"Ah yes, Kisa. Takes a bit after her father, now. Still, both of you working together are the reason we're here now, is it?" Hanji picks up his instrument and moves towards the case where he usually puts it . Hanji finishes packing the instrument and gets ready to move out.

"Oh, by the way. Nory says she's got a thing for you, Walden." Hanji says, out of the blue.

"Wait, what?" Walden was taken back before a smack to the back of his head took him out of his shock.

"Got you." Walden rubbed the back of his head, realizing something: dirt. "Good thing it wasn't a rock, huh?"

"Ah, blast it." Walden said in embarrassment. Of course Master Sellas had something ready. Hanji would just chuckle before telling him, "Don't get too relaxed, my young Padawan. Even the safest places can be dangerous in a flash."

The two would walk the plains and head towards the docks, ready to accept the call, all while talking about random stuff to make the journey less silent. Still, Walden had to ask.

"So...is that true?"

"What's true?

"What you said before. About Kisa."

Hanji walked, looking towards the sky, before he looked at Walden with a smile on his face, not saying anything.

"...Great." To Walden, that smile meant one thing: "I'm not telling."

Matt was in his dormitory studying his book on foresight. He wished he could see good visions. But it felt like the force was still punishing him for using the dark side that day. Ah, I see your studying this caused him to jump, he used the force and..... are we going on a mission master, to dathomir? right on the first maybe on the second, I don't know. But we had better be getting there before they leave without us and off they went to the docks

I just thought it would be fun narratively to use forseeing to guess what were doing. If you don't what that than i ha d better change that.

As the sun rose on a truly glorious morning, Master Vandar would be stood patiently out in the open of the dock. It was a large circular area, big enough to fit a single large freighter with space for mechanic crews and such. Opposite to the entrance of the enclave to the dock was a second door where traders had set up shop, hoping to tempt any travelers that came this way into buying their wares.

As the padawans and masters arrived one by one they would form a large group before Master Vandar, the masters partially separating themselves from their padawans. 'Good morning all' he would say in a croaky voice, looking up at the newcomers. Master Vandar was a short individual, shorter than even Svae. He was short and green with pointed ears, and most likely one of the oldest Jedi in the order to date. He wore simple flowing robes dyed blue with a pale yellow lining. 'It has been a long time since you all were together I can imagine. This would cause a low murmuring of agreement from the masters as they listen. 'Still too soon for my taste' Master Not would growl in her own tongue, resulting in a sharp nudge from Master Olbark as he smothers a smile.

Master Vandar would continue unphased by this, focusing his address on the padawans mostly. 'Your masters have told the council how your training has come along remarkably, you have all proven yourselves to be more than worthy of the tile Jedi'. At this a sounds of disagreement would emerge from Master Nahk, most likely a dig at his Padawan.

'Since the Mandalorian war has finally ended, there is much work that must to be to repair the wounds it has created. Planets need rebuilding, societies to be brought back into balance, order to be restored. This roll will largely fall to the Jedi, both masters and padawans. He would step foward at this, gesturing to the padawans assembled before him. 'First, we must ensure that the Republic is never left in a position where it risks destruction. Although the Jedi cannot enter into war, we can help the Republic to defend itself. The council has decided that as padawans of the order, you are to go to the Foerost system. Foerost is home to one of the Republic shipyards, and a key contributor to the naval restoration of the Republic. We need to you oversee the restoration work and ensure everything is going as it should'.

At this, Master Muund would step forward with a soft smile as he takes over the briefing. 'Of course, the Foernost system is almost a weeks journey away with a class 1 hyperdrive. Not a journey to make on Republic transport. As if one cue, there would be a tremendous roaring noise as a ship soars overhead before slowly coming to a gentle landing with the hiss of hydraulics. It was a very similar ship to one they had journeyed to Illum on, though this ship looked to be brand new, the latest model of ship the Jedi had access to. It could be seen that there was a black brass panel on the front of the ship where a name would often be seen, Muund would turn back to padawans, a satisfied smile on his face. 'We thought this would be more appropriate to your needs'.

Gunda listens intently at the beginning of Master Vandar's speech, but soon loses interest. This sounds like a boring diplomatic mission, he thinks to himself as he tries to look interested. His master nudges him with the toe of his boot and gives him a disapproving glare. The Dug redoubles his efforts to look moderately interested.

His ears perk up when he hears the engines of the starship landing and he peers up as it comes in for a landing. "Snazzy," he says approvingly. "Not a bad design, for a cruiser. A bit too large and a bit too slow for what I like to ride, but it will do," he says to nobody in particular.

He takes a few step towards the ship as the landing gear thuds on the ground, and then looks back at his master. "Try to stay out of trouble while I'm gone, master. Without me to pilot you out of the mess you always seem to get yourself in you could get yourself in real trouble," he says, grinning at his mentor, before turning and getting on board the ship and heading to the cockpit.

"They had better not have a problem with letting me fly you, my lovely," he mutters to the ship as he walks, letting the toes of his left foot run along the wall as his powerful arms carry him towards the cockpit.

Walden and Master Sellas listen to Master Vandar's words intently. Another peacekeeping mission, it seems.

However, the mention of not taking normal transports, followed by the appearance of the new ship, surprised Walden. If their Masters were willing to give them a ship, then this was very important indeed.

"Whoa."

The cruiser reminded him of the Crucible , but this had a number of differences, most notably the large engines on the rear. No visible weapons, though, meant that unless a starfighter or two was waiting in the bay or they would get a chance to outfit it, it'd have to rely on getting away...or getting lucky.

"Well, this is a surprise. I'm assuming you're not going, Master Sellas?" he says.

"No, and not just because you know I greatly dislike flying." Master Sellas turns to Walden, nods a bit, and sighs before continuing on. "I have business to do, Walden, but now is a good time to say it."

Straightening up, he spoke not in his usual laid back tone, but the serious one for when something really needed to be said. "Soon, you and I will part ways. You will no longer be a Padawan, and I will no longer be there to mentor you. Ever since I picked you up from Contruum, you've grown in ways I never thought you would go towards. Today is yet another time to grow, for you will have to be the one to teach yourself now."

Walden stays quiet, listening to Master Sellas' words. "I've trained you for this moment, Walden, and I've seen your bravery happen. You will be fine."

"Master, I-" Walden responded before Master Sellas shook his head.

"Enough. I know you do it, Walden. I just have one more thing to say: be aware of the surrounding around you... and within you. You wish to protect those that cannot protect themselves. That is good. But the heat of the moment can blind you to rush forward, and that could end up leaving others vulnerable."

"...I will keep that in mind, Master." Walden replies.

"Good. Now, take care of yourself, Walden Albright. And may the Force be with you." Master Sellas says, patting Walden in the shoulder before taking his leave.

"Always." Walden says, not knowing if the words were heard. And soon he makes his way towards the other Padawans.

As he's walking, Walden notices Gunda heading towards the cruiser. Walden has heard of Gunda's exploits in piloting, although from what he's heard, the Dug was more into piloting craft smaller and faster than this cruiser. Still, while Walden would have liked to pilot this ship, it was a bad idea taking Gunda away from the pilot's seat. Besides, Walden thought, Gunda was most likely a better pilot than him anyway.

Gaze blinks a bit in surprise. He knows nothing about overseeing a shipyard. He's never even been in a shipyard. He looks over at his Master. "Are you pranking me again? If this is like that time on Prozalec IV I'm going to lace your food with sneezing powder for a week." Master Plah Nahk raps his cane across the back of Gaze's head. "Ow!" He says, rubbing at his head.

"No runtling, this is no joke. This is your first..." The Master pauses, acknowledging the large number of other people going. "...ok well not a SOLO mission perse, but you get the idea." He places a hand on Gaze's shoulder. "You have been a fine student these many years Gaze, and I have the utmost confidence that you will be able to handle yourself out there." His tone is warm as he says that, but it turns serious. "Always be wary, you have seen the damage that can be done by those who seek destruction, you've seen more of it than most think." Plah Nahk comments, referring to their time in the Mandolorian Wars. "Keep your wits about you, and find those in need of healing, either of body or mind." With that, the Master cuffs him on the head by way of farewell, and steps away from the group of them.

Gaze isn't sure what to say at this, and simply nods his understanding, his emotions too strong to trust his voice. He moves towards the grouping of Padawans, tilting his head that they all have been recalled for this.

Zoroku perked up once he heard that they were going to oversee a shipyard a warship shipyard to be exact ' Interesting... This will be most helpful, if I ever want to propose the Republic and Jedi as better allies than the Sith Empire I will need to know the capabilities of their ships.' Once the Masters stop talking and present the ship the group will be traveling in Zoroku turns to his Master. " It's an important job Zoro, after the war and the disappearance of Revan and his half of the fleet the Republic needs to rebuild a defense fleet to stand a chance in war. " Zoroku shakes his head at her, " I never understand why you shorten my already shortened name..."

" Because it's catchy and it ruffles your feathers! " She smiles, acting like the older sibling Zoroku never had, "... I agree completely on the importance of this mission, Without a standing Navy of capital ships and fighter craft the Republic stands no chance of surviving another war."

" Oh I thought you were hesitant this morning? " Xira says with an eyebrow raised. " That was before I knew it would be a mission which would interest me. I do believe that the training I had in the Ascendancy Naval Corp will help me even with the short time I studied there. " Zoroku folded his arms behind him.

" You do know you aren't there to be a military advisor, now I know you have an eye for strategy and tactics but this is about the construction of the ships themselves not using them in battle." Xira says. " Xira you should know that the smallest details can turn the tide of war, whether in a duel or in a massive battle of fleets, any input I have should be given to better prepare the Republic for its next defense."

" Well just don't get kicked out because you annoyed the construction crews Zoro, I would be embarrassed if my Padawan was the one who got in trouble because he was nosy. " Zoroku sighed upon hearing the nickname that his master loved using, it irritated him somewhat but he knew was all in jest. " If I do remember Correctly Xira, It was you who got us removed from the Gala in Alderaan." Now Xira was the having her feathers ruffled, "Hey it wasn't completely my fault that I suspected that the Duchess was a Mandalorian... I don't keep up with courtly fashion." Zoroku smiled at Xira's expense, when she collected herself the two of them parted.

Zoroku made his way toward the ship and toward the other Padawans inspecting the ship noticing the lack of armament, ' While many of the Mandalorians disarmed It would be unwise to keep this ship without suitable weaponry.' He joined the others who were already in front of the entrance after making his cursory inspection

Tiberius is filled with disbelief. Apparently the war had made them go loopier than he thought: sending eight or nine padawans to sort things out. This would make Malachor V look like it was game in a sandbox. "Master Manon, are you sre the council here hasn't fallen to the darkside?" Shaal looked at Tiberius quizically, "Why do you ask?" "Because they're letting a bunch of padawans take this thing," Tiberius gestures to the ship, "on a mission. Without a master or knight for supervison." Shaal turns to look Tiberius in the eye, Tiberius's helmet being in the spacer's duffle that held all his posession, and Tiberius saw what looked like a tear by the Nautolians eye, "You may not be padawans much longer. May justice be swift and merciful." Shaal said, giving Tiberius their typical farewell. "Yes master, may justice be swift and merciful." Tiberius turns and walks to the ship, catching up with Walden, Gaze, Zoroku, and Gunda before slowing back down.

"Long time no see." He says, time to check for the lynching of the Mandos.

Extra sylablle in Zorku's name removed

Muu would listen to Master Vandar speak of restoration, order, and the rebuilding of the Republic. The speech was inspiring the young eager Padawan. Master Vandar would next mention his duty is to oversee the restoration of the Foerost shipyards. Muu would pause to think " Shipyards? ". A impressive Jedi Starship would approach the docks nearby shifting Muu's focus for a moment. As it landed he was unable to make out the name on the panel.

The young Jedi was to set forth on a new adventure with this being his first Jedi leadership role. Muu would approach Master Zear Not, "My Master desires for me to superintend a shipyard and administer fleet production?" with polite curiosity. Muu would continue " And here I thought Master Vandar was going to have us tree hurdling together in the Unvena system " with a smile.

Master Zear would huff at her Padawan's words. It was never easy for her to part away from her pupil cub. As confident as she is in Muu in comparison to the other Jedi, he was still untrained in her eyes. Master Zear would speak in her native tongue " Remember to concentrate on the living force. Sense the moment, don't over anticipate, and use your pack instincts dear Pawadan " appearing as if she was tearing the boy a new one. With her naturally aggressive visage appearance, she would smile showing all her teeth. She would continue " Within the living force " as customary farewell. Muu would reply back" Within the living force " before boarding the ship.

Muu would radiantly catch up with all the other Pawadans. " Long time no see Tiberius! " wondering if the pirate rumors were true. Deciding to pick a more upbeat conversation starter, Muu would begin " Don't tell me you crafted that phenomenal armor your self! ".

"Svae, I know this may not sound like a mission that you are suited for, but you will find a moment where your skills are needed." Master Muund says. "Your empathy for others and understanding of the natural world are beyond any of the other padawans, but don't let that go to your head." Muund says as he taps Svae's head, "There are many who are skilled in other ways. Trust in them and most of all trust in the force."

It was amazing to Svae how well Master Muund could read Svae's mind. Svae was just thinking that he wasn't suited for shipyards. He belongs in the wild with the animals and trees not with metal beams and welders, but Svae's master spoke wisdom and Svae would do his best to adhere to it.

Master. Svae says using telepathy, Thank you. I will do my best and I will not let you down.

"Come Gwode" Svae motions for Gwode to follow him and Gwode climbs up Svae onto Svae's small shoulder. Svae then bows to Master Muund and joins the other padawans walking to the ship. The ship's familiar style remind Svae of Perig and Svae, without knowing, puts his hand to his lightsaber on his hip.
