Star Wars Clone Wars: Cyclone Squad IC

By Rabobankrider, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

"Well, let's not keep the 404's waiting!" Anler says, trying to sound heroic. "Move out everyone, and may the Force be with us."

Zombie would nod, yanking the white helmet he carried under his arm over his head. He looked out of place among the clones cadets with their grey armour, and their orange visors. 'Alright bucket heads, you heard the commander! Brief your squads, we are going hot in five minutes!' With that there would be a flurry of action among the troops, helmets being return to heads, weapons being fired up, and Law dragging squads away from the main body to make the flanking team. It was time to go to battle.

" Looks like we have new haircuts in our future boys, the commander needs someway other than our handsome faces to tell us apart" 9182 fell in line behind the Cyclones as they marched with the commander. ' Finally a big combat mission, I sure hope songbird is on defense...' 9182 gave off a wide grin.

Doc prepared everything he could for this fight. It was a training exercise, sure, but with prestige on the line, it might as well had been a real combat operation.

Doc wondered about Frogger and where he was at. Attacker? Defender? He didn't figure out where he was placed.

"Let's hope you don't fall flat on your face, buddy..." he muttered to himself before hearing 9182's shout.

"Didn't know there was anything new other than flattops and no hair at all!" Doc yelled to 9182, grinning.

"Sir, yes Sir." Clipper snaps off, "You could try a muatache, Doc. But as long as our commander here remembers that we all look better than you it should help." He readied his gear and gets ready for combat.

CT-5472 watches and listens, admiringly, as his brethren lay out their ideas before the new Commander. They are better tacticians than I am myself. A good squad leader knows when to be silent, and let his men do what they do best.. And the Specialist! An asset, to be sure. Something troubles the clone, however, about the force they're facing...

As the Major waded through the cadets, readying them and checking their gear, Law could be seen pulling squads to on side to make his flanking team. He had good taste,he'd already chosen the best the company had to other, at least those that the Major hadn't earmarked for himself. After a moment, a fresh faced cadet would hurry across to the Jedi and his squad, shouting out as he catches up. 'Commander! Commander! The major wanted me to ask if you want a second squad to go with you? He's concerned that if something goes wrong, one squad on its own won't be much defence'.

As the cadets speaks, Law had gathered his team, and ambled across with the men towards the Jedi. 'Alright commander, here's the breach team. What are your orders sir?'

Meanwhile, the Majors troops were ready and waiting for combat. A few of them looked nervous, bouncing on their feet, rubbing at non-existent itches, glancing around hurriedly. The major however did not look concerned. He was stood right at the front of his men, hand cupped over his visor as he peers through the sealed door in an almost taunting fashion. There'd be a light crackle as he activates his comlink, relaying a message to the company. 'Well boys, this may e tough, but it's no Geonosis! Alright, ready up lads, breach formation, let's go let's go!'. His men sprung into action, splitting into three groups. One went to either side of the door, while the smallest third group knelt down before the door, rifles aimed at those inside.

The major would turn, waving a hand to Cyclone squad as the comlink crackles once more. 'Alright commander, we're ready on your orders!'

Anler pauses a moment when the cadet asks if he needs more than the men from Cyclon squad with him to assault the enemy HQ. He realizes that the more experienced Major is hinting that he just may need it, so he decides to take the advice. He recalls that Cyclone squad is the third squad in their platoon and decided they might work best with their platoon mates. "Affirmative, send Acklay squad over here, they will attack the HQ with me and Cyclone squad," he tells the cadet.

He next turns to Law, who has gathered his men. "Set up over here," he says, pointing at the map. "I'll join you in a minute to cut through the wall and give you access." He then nods to the Major. "Everything is in place. I'll see you on the other side, Major. You may begin your assault when ready."

The Jedi Padawan attaches a tactical headset to his ear to allow him to speak to the others without using his hands to hold the comlink, consults the map one last time and then looks at the two assembled squads selected to follow him in the assault on the enemy HQ. "Are you ready for this Acklay and Cyclone squads?" When the clones give the usual yessirs he nods. "Start making your way up the dome, but make sure you are not seen by any surveilance devices they might have. I have a wall to cut through, I'll join you in the opening to the air vents."

He waits for any last minute comments or advice from the men, before heading to the section of the wall he needs to cut through. He waits until he can hear Zombie's men open fire as they begin the assault before igniting his bright blue lightsaber and cutting a hole large enough for two men to walk through at the same time.

As the 404th withdraws to take up defensive positions in the dome, CT-5472's gaze narrows.. not too familiar with the other regiment, but he recognizes a couple who have already distinguished themselves- which is, in itself, not an easy thing to do.

"That's Jam , kneeling there by the entrance. No better clone, when it comes to wiring." Sure enough, sparks fly, and the hatch closes, sealing them out.

"Ahead of him, I noted the swagger of his squad leader, Oss . Crack shot with that DC-15A of his, tricked-out with bipod and scope. Shrewd tactician, too, or so they say. I expect he'd position himself in the hangar.. Or the end of a looong passageway."

"Come on, guys. Let's see if we can't distinguish ourselves.. In a favorable way." The Cyclones, ready for action, await the signal.

Readying for the fight 8128 checks his equipment. He always feels better when he knows his DC-15 is in perfect condition.

Upon hearing the commanders order, 9182's grin disappears 'Acklay is Joining us... Well I guess I don't get to shoot Songbird.' He checked his Z-6 Rotary Cannon and moved closer to Songbird " I bet I can get more eliminations with my Cannon than you can with your sniper rifle. " 9182 stares at his rival awaiting for confirmation of his little challenge. Songbird has the best aim on Acklay squad and 9182 had the best on Cyclone, but both Clones decided to adopt different styles of weaponry and were always willing to compete to show each other whose weapon truly was the better one.

As Clipper walks by 9182and Songbird he hears the bet,"Careful 9182, don't give Songbird too many opportunities to sing, after all I just clipped his wings for you." He says, "But, you better get more eliminations then him anyway." Clipper was ready.

The fresh faced cadet would nod hurriedly as he runs back towards the major. Zombie would appear to make some frustrated gestures to the cadet, pointing him towards Law. Next the cadet would have to run back across to the flanking team to talk to Law. After a moment the squad leader would nod, and the members of Acklay squad would saunter over to join the Jedi.

Alongside Songbird, there were another eight cadets. Kee, Bonus, Break, Grorr, Poison, Gyo, Xym and Cloud. Together they made Acklay squad. At 9182's comment, Songbird would audibly snort at this. 'I bet you shoot yourself climbing into the vents with that daft cannon'. He'd say in a low voice, making sure to avoid a telling off from their commander. As Clipper joins the conversation, Songbird would shoot the cadet a condescending look. 'Your mate there should watch himself or I'll set Grorr on him' he'd say to 9182. 'Shut it' Grorr would snap at Songbird, smacking him over the back of the helmet with the flat of his hand. Perhaps it was managing Songbird all day, but Grorr had the shortest temper in the squad, he also packed the hardest punch.

Law would nod as Anler gives him his orders, turning to wave the team ahead to the marked location. When Anler arrived he would find them milling about, waiting for him to cut them their entrance. 'Ready when you are boss' one clone would call out as the Jedi meets them. As the hole is sliced into the side of the building, Law would move towards the entrance, poking his head through the hole into the black. 'Yeah, this looks like a storage room. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, a few sealed crates could be seen neatly stacked around the edge of the room. Law would move back, turning to the Jedi. 'I doubt they'll expect this. We'll make our attack when the major makes his move. We can make the most of the surprise that way'.

At the Jedi's command, Acklay squad would move unhurriedly towards the edge of the dome. On the way 9182 would get body checked by Songbird on the way as he shoulders his rifle, giving him two hands to work with. Cloud would sprint ahead, making an impressive leap into the air to try and grab hold of the edge, but would miss by a couple of inches. He would look up at the ledge, hand on hips as he frowns. 'Gonna need a hand here' he'd say, turning back to the others.

Once more, there would be a crackle over the comlink, and the majors voice would come through. Alright, commander, we are going in, in three, two, one, breach!' there would be a hiss of electronics, rapidly followed by the deafening noise of gunfire. I didn't sound great, the defenders were holding their own, and the majors force is struggling to make any headway. 'Get in cover, move it!' Zombie shouted at the cadets as he tries to lead them to victory

CT-5472 eyes the crates in the storage area, an idea forming. "CT-3478, Help me slide this crate over, and let's see if we can stack these others." Together, they manage to improvise a usable staircase for the squads to safely access the ledge.

Preparing for battle was easy for CT-3478. Strap on the DC-15S sidearm and put his vibroknucklers on. He's ready. This is gonna be fun!

After getting to the dome he hears CT-5472 ask for help. "I've got you." CT-3478 helps him move the boxes so everyone can get into the vents.

"Here we go!"

Cloud would laugh at 3478's excitement, slapping him on the back as Acklay squad begin to form together, letting the Commanders squad take point. 'Nice to see someone get excited for combat!' Poison would shake his head at this, sighing slightly. 'Shut up Cloud, Drummer will hear you through the walls you're that loud'. Once more Cloud would laugh, turning the face his squad mate. You worry too much' he'd declare. Poison and Cloud made an odd pairing, both never seeming to stop bickering but both were inseparable. Poison was the squads computer technician, and enjoyed subtly and quiet, while Cloud played with grenades, and wasn't truly happy without something hectic happening, preferably on fire. 'Alright commander, we're ready when you are' Grorr would say over the comlinks, looking up into the rain at the large curving dome, it's grey metal shining from the water.

"See Cloud, you should use your head not just your muscles, they don't seem to cut it anyways" , CT-8128 teases as he climbs up the makeshift steps onto the dome.

Cloud would chuckle, bouncing on the soles of his feet. 'Watch it Cyclone, Grorr will eat you alive!' Cyclone squad could hear Grorr shouting at his squad mates as they climb. 'I'm not eating anyone! I don't know who started that rumour but I'll kill them!' 'Kill them by eating them?' Songbird would retort, resulting in low laughter from Acklay.

"Alright, jokers, let get up on the roof, now." Doc says in jest as he makes his way up the steps. With the rain not letting up, it would be quite the effort not to slip on the dome.

"Watch those steps, the rain's not letting up."

" Hey watch where you put your toy gun Songbird, you almost hit me in the head with that thing. " 9182 said with a smirk on his face as Songbird passed him by.

" I'm not scared of Grorr, 3478 is about as strong as a Gundark I'm sure he's more than a match for him." He said as he climbed up the stacked boxes, " Hey 3478 how bout Gundark, that sounds like a good name. "

The rain was pooring hard, 9182 made sure to keep his Z-6 Cannon on his back so he could have use of his arms for balance.

Clipper stayed silent and focused soley on climbing.

CT-5472 follows his fellow Cyclones up onto the dome, proper. Well.. the slope is not so bad, but it's going to be slippery going, from here..

Anler carefully cuts the hole through the wall, cutting at a slight angle with his lightsaber to make sure the section of the wall falls towards him and the clone troopers rather than into the room. As he cuts, he directs a few clones to stand ready to catch the large wall section to keep it from making a noise as it falls. The clones put down the wall, careful not to touch the hot edges, with a low thud. They then join the formation again and surge into the empty room, ready to attack when Major Zombie gives the word.

The Padawan is already moving at this point, jogging towards Cyclone and Acklay squads as they assemble boxes to allow them to climb to the roof. Anler follows the clones up, passing some of them on the way up. He's content allowing the clones to get there first but wants to be close to the front when they reach the vents, just in case he needs to cut his way into the ventilation system.

"Everybody up! Move it or you'll be face to face with a Gundark! Hahaha" CT-3478 waits until everyone is up one the roof then goes up himself. "Right behind you Commander Paddie!"

Acklay squad would follow the Cyclones up the curve of dome, the soles of their boots squeaking in the rain as they clamber, cadets slipping every so often. Cloud would try to run up ahead towards the front of the squad, only to slip well and truly, landing on his front before sliding back down the dome with a cry of surprise. Fortunately for Cloud, Kee is able to grab him by the wrist as he slides past, and with a loud grunt stop him short from his sudden drop. 'Careful Cloud' he'd mutter through gritted teeth as he pulls the cadet to his feet.

Eventually, they would near the top of the large dome, the sound of gunfire begun to quiet as they gain height. As they near the top though they would be met with a surprise. A full squad of cadets with black shoulder patches making the precarious journey down the dome. At their head was none other than Oss, and the surprise on their face most likely mirrored that of the attackers. 'What the-' one of the clones stuttered before Oss begun to shout. 'Shoot them! Quick! And someone warn the others, now!' It seemed the Jedi and his squads were going to get their first taste of proper combat.
