I'm not exactly sure why but scale of terrain being somewhat smaller than scale of miniatures often looks great. Exactly in-scale terrain sometimes looks way too big.

I agree. Terrain scale is a weird beast...what looks beat is quite often not actually correct.

Ill be experimenting with several scales to see what works.
