The Wookiee slams his gloved fist with all his might into the droids chassis, discharging its full shock capacity as he does so. The sparks coming from the droid are satisfying to Grrawlryyhl.

As the grenade sails harmlessly past the Wookiee's head, Pango's probability subroutines make a stark prediction: The match is probably lost. As an energized fist connects with his chassis, the numbers get even worse. The droid draws an armor-piercing grenade and attempts to activate his counterattack module, but... What's this? The jolt from the blow seems to have knocked it offline! Pango desperately tries to reboot the system, but in the meantime, he digs his treads into the sand in preparation for another attack.
Completely overlooked that Coordination Dodge. Not sure how I could ever overcome having to roll 5 uncanceled Successes to connect with an attack either way, though! Not much I can do but wait for the inevitable end. I'll draw an Armor-Piercing Grenade and take a Guarded Stance, adding +1 Setback to your next attack. I'll also spend my 1 DP to upgrade your attack, as well.

Ah, you're right about Sidestep. I'll trade that in for Guarded Stance (which, unfortunately, costs me 1 more Strain to use). (Thanks!) With the Threat, how about +1 Setback on your next attack, as well? That adds up to 4 Setbacks (heat, Threat, Defense, Guarded Stance) and an upgrade (DP).
Actually, strike that. 3 Strain to give you a Setback isn't worth it in this arena, I think. Your attack is at 3 Setbacks and 1 Upgrade.

Yep! One Strain over my threshold. Don't see how I could have won against your Coordination Dodge unless the DP roll had come out all Light and no Dark and I'd hoarded. Those two blank negative dice didn't help anything, either.

The blows come hard and fast. With each pounding on his chassis, Pango's self-repair subroutines strain themselves to keep the droid's systems online. But then one too many blows lands, and with a final whine, the droid shuts down.

Turning the droid upside down to reduce the drag through the sand, Grrawlryyhl takes it back to his downed speeder. He removes all the grenades from the droid before powering it back up. <Want to get off this rock? You help me fix my speeder, I'll take you to Nar Shaada and give you a couple hours head-start before I collect on your bounty.>
Oh, dang. I just reread through the fight and recounted; you're right; I was at 15 Strain, not 16. I feel like I've already forfeited, but here's what would have happened:
Being at threshold means I can't spend any maneuvers at all due to the +1 Strain thing from the heat. That means all I can do is throw the grenade that's already drawn:

That's enough to activate Blast and get I think 2 damage through your Soak (EDIT: 4 damage, thanks to Powerful Blast). Not great. Even with Master Grenadier for a reroll, things don't get better:
