He's about as fragile as a Jumpmaster, and not substantially more maneuverable. He has fewer blue options, and while he can turn right, he's always starved for actions. Either he can't reposition, or he's stressed. He has to choose between modding attack or defense. The only double-tap build starts at 14 points and can't attack the same ship twice.

I have yet to hear any significant complaints about Dash from anyone who has actual experience with or against him in 2nd edition that is not Roark/Han Dash. Every time I push on it, the people who object ultimately admit they haven't played or played against him in 2.0 except Roark/Han Dash, and that does NOT count.

To be perfectly fair though, I think he's priced somewhere around correctly now. Still a hard pill to swallow and a ton of points that can disappear on one bad turn, but there's enough room for at least one competent wingman. Curious to see what this season in Extended turns out.

I think its really important to note how much "irritation" people have with Dash. I wanted to say "hate", but its bad manners to poo poo something people adore. (There I said it...)

Sadly, I think Dash represents a LOT of different things that a LOT of people dislike for different reasons.

You're right to note people haven't tried it. Would I even be willing to try it? No. I'd rather ignore the problem altogether, and I'll tell you, I'm not one to say that about problems usually. (Shows an extent of how much I don't like it).

The main issue is I think he really should have a 4 die gun anymore in 2e. And the whole run-away 2ship long range sniper play just has tons of places where its frustrating to play against, what makes it worse then, is finding out that people find joy (or seem not to care) in causing me/opponents/other people misery.

A way to think about this is Dash is not really a logical problem anymore, its quite heavily influenced by emotion due to various reasons. Therefore its illogical to approach it as only a logical problem.
