Vengeful droid for Scum offers the possibility of using the M3 as the blocker and not the Z95.

I feel like it's a trap. A Binayre pirate with Feedback Array is cheaper.

Shenanigans with R5-TK seem like fun but it's a waste of slots and attacks and kind of lures you into otherwise suboptimal builds. Generally seems not worth it, especially with how easy it is to avoid...

By dominate I mean what is given as secondary bullet point. The specific numbers are 100% not the best cut offs, but they are a start for discussion.

And I just checked my top51 back in May 2019 to correct my gut feeling for diverse/mess. What I don't consider to be a mess:

What I'd count as "mess":

  • Few lists dominate cuts
    • up to 5 lists have a cut conversion rate of 2xbase conversion. For example, if 20% make cut then 40% is seen as dominating. Taking that list doubles your chance to make cut.
  • Few lists/ship combinations dominate the field
    • less than 20 ship combinations that were played 4x or more often make up more than 66% of lists (swiss and/or cut?)
  • A single playstyle (maybe two) dominate
    • maybe more lists, but all with the same playstyle. Efficiency spam, aces, swarm, control, 2ship lists
  • Two factions dominate
    • more than 50% of cut factions are from 2 factions.
  • Few pilots dominate
    • more than 40% of lists in a faction have a certain pilot (note that this was the case for Wedge, Lulo, Kylo, Anakin. And they definitely dominated their factions).
  • As consequence, listbuilding is a large part in determining the outcome

Thoughts? Do these qualify as dominating or do they seem too/not enough strict?
Just as reminder, GhostFenn was at around 15% of the field two years ago and considered to be everywhere.

how are you supposed to move the goalposts if you lay down strict criteria?

Double post.

Zizi Tlo, Boba, possibly Fenn, Luke?, Ten Numb?, Leia, Kylo are the current candidates, I think?

Forgot Zizi. That's a definite yes, at least from me. Probably the best-value piece in Hyperspace as far as I'm aware, but I guess that remains to be proven.

I haven't seen many top-performers in Resistance that haven't had her, and I don't think I've seen any good RZ-2 lists that don't use her.

When in doubt just shout "extended has more options!" and run away.

The next time we do content i'll badger to get a guide on setting up moving goalposts, cuz i have no idea how @GreenDragoon will move the goalposts to avoid ever admitting they're wrong later

That's the secret sauce, I am always wrong ;)

You don't need to R5TK. You just block with him as you would with a TIE fighter and be very annoying with him. He's not going to be shot at all that often when he's blocking because the person who suffers most from the block is eating a crit. And when he's not blocking, the opponent has a tendency to think that it's the time to shoot at him, as opposed to what should be shot at. It's like Proud Trad in that offering your opponent more decisions with no good options (just the bad option and the neutral option that should be taken) you give your opponent more windows for bad decisions.

Warning: Fireball drinking game if you get paired with me at Adepticon.

This might just be a lie.

It's good to have a secret, and it's even better if that secret is wrapped in consistency, trust me.

Will there be Wave 6 ships to buy at the UK SoS, we are arriving Friday evening and there is no chance I can grab a Fireball before Saturday.

Failing that, is there a kind soul that is willing to buy one for me before and I can send them the money right away, and I promise to buy you a beer at the SoS :D

@gennataos SAME TEAM, but mine is single-player. I down one for each time Kaz dies.

I do agree; that is optimal use.

It's just that a FA Z-95 does the exact same thing for 24 25 points. You could argue not as well, but it's a little more in your control and combos with Kath for extra fun. Still probably not good, but seems a little better.

You probably know better than me though. Most people do.

Edit: Price of FA

When I tried it, I ended up with a bunch of fireballs getting half pointed and ran out of time :(

Guess I just have to be more aggressive?

What about Origins? Can't make Adepticon this year but have Origins plans.

When the fireball high aggros, it tends to SLAM, which can over commit. In flying trip Silencers or 2BAs + Silencer, I find that slow rollers tend to cast the nets that require the most patience and disengaging. If a net has an over-eager flank, too fast a charge, or any disunity, its effectivity plummets, exasperated by obstacles.

I can only imagine just how hard efficiency lists are to master. Thus I have no idea as to what is a good efficiency list, only knowing what people say are good efficiency lists.
