a growler should work okay? BYOB FLGS's are based, the problem is that you gotta drive pretty much everywhere in Houston.

Yeah prob a growler would work for a small game night, but it's just less work to yank the keg from the keez on the way out the door than it is to counter-fill a growler, plus if I could get a more fool-proof dispensation system I could provide beer for a decent sized tourney.

Yeah luckily I got a girl who will DD for me on BYoB nights. That and not living in Houston, basically good life choices all around :D

I've so rarely needed to move the turret on the Falcon I almost wouldn't care if it couldn't turn the guns. Just turn them sideways and circle the board in boring spirals... It seems to hypnotize opponents into bad choices.

And that is now back in the bin o' neglected ships... I'm going to play with Scyks for a bit... They're bad, but... I love those little guys and I'm not exactly competing for anything right now.

I do the same thing keep turret sideways, I think in 10 games with decimator I rotate turret 1 time. I'm gonna do my best to make the decimator work in know itll take alot.

Wait, where can you drink at the stores in Houston? Am I going to the wrong store?!

Good luck. I tried and it wasn’t to my taste and didn’t see much success either... Scyks were fun and good tonight though

Looks like FFGCon is back

If only they hadn't spent the last 12 months saying it was invite only, I might have been able to save up and go.......

You can drink beer anywhere in Texas. If someone trys to tell you otherwise remind them that "Texas is a free country" then start singing Deep in the Heart of Texas

Asgard has a bar in the store, and i believe BTD is BYOB

The VCX seems really good. Below list is 197 pts.
Can swap Magva out for a Turret and Toys, or can drop Wedge for a cheaper 3rd ship.
Tons of options, all of which are pretty solid.

Luke Skywalker — T-65 X-Wing 62
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 62
Half Points: 31 Threshold: 3
Wedge Antilles — T-65 X-Wing 52
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 52
Half Points: 26 Threshold: 3
Hera Syndulla — VCX-100 Light Freighter 73
Magva Yarro 8
Leia Organa 2
Ship Total: 83
Half Points: 42 Threshold: 7

I guess there was a reason all the Hyperspace Trial stuff had VCX art on it...
This is the other VCX list I find interesting. Sure it could just be 3 U-Wings, but 2 Lothals should do just fine.

Luke Skywalker — T-65 X-Wing 62
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 62
Half Points: 31 Threshold: 3
Lothal Rebel — VCX-100 Light Freighter 68
Leia Organa 2
Ship Total: 70
Half Points: 35 Threshold: 7
Lothal Rebel — VCX-100 Light Freighter 68
Ship Total: 68
Half Points: 34 Threshold: 7

Its weird to say but turretless VCXs are kinda cool and I dont hate them?
I absolutely cannot believe how good their dial is and that they are allowed a K-Turn which seems out of place.

vcx-100-light-freighter.png

More VCX things: Probably wont fit soon but still shows how well priced these VCXs are.

Wedge Antilles — T-65 X-Wing 52
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 52
Half Points: 26 Threshold: 3
Lothal Rebel — VCX-100 Light Freighter 68
Leia Organa 2
Ghost 0
Ship Total: 70
Half Points: 35 Threshold: 7
Braylen Stramm — A/SF-01 B-Wing 47
Ship Total: 47
Half Points: 24 Threshold: 4
Lieutenant Blount — Z-95-AF4 Headhunter 30
Ship Total: 30
Half Points: 15 Threshold: 2

My mate went 6-0 at the birmingham System Open with Hera/Wedge/Norra.

The list just has so much jousting power! We had a mess around game where we just straight jousted, (I played the Ketsu/Teroch/Cobra list) we both felt I rolled better and he still won the joust and the game.

He got knocked out in the first round of cut by 4 phantoms but (according to him) it was a crazy close game

Oddball is fun, but not good.

Yeah so much dps at I6 and I5 takes initiate killing to another level.

Sad Separatist Droids :(

Torkil Mux, protector of the little guys...

Changes in late June took me by surprise, we have HS tourney coming up on June 29th.

What do I do now when I don't even know what will be available?

Practice Archetypes not lists and one or two of the untouchable movie Aces.
See Luke, Poe, Anakin, Fenn etc.

Seconding @Boom Owl - practice tactics and playstyles. Don't worry about the exact list. Learn dials. Learn ships that are presently bad that could surprise you if the points flip them. I'm not flying Scyks because I believe they are secretly good. I'm flying Scyks in case Wave V lowers points on them to the point they are good.

I played two Quickbuild, 9 threat build your opponent's team games yesterday.

Besides being possibly the most raw fun I've ever had playing X-Wing I got to play with and against some absolute jank, and now two of those ships have been referenced here:

Oddball Torrent was in one of my lists, and his ability was surprisingly good a couple of times!

Same game, I gave my opponent Torkil with Stealth Device and Siesmic because 2 threat lulz...

Torkil was a beast, even without Crow (well, thats only because of the format)

I5 is like the minimum for "probably won't get initiative killed" if you're not a slab of beef.

It's weird, I've played a lot of i5 pilots that don't feel op or anything, but maybe that's because I'm playing a lot of other i5/i6 stuff. I guess there's might be some "fair" i5 ships, too.

There absolutely are some examples.

Darth Vader — TIE Advanced x1 65
Afterburners 6
Ship Total: 71
Half Points: 36 Threshold: 3
“Duchess” — TIE/sk Striker 42
Ship Total: 42
Half Points: 21 Threshold: 2
“Countdown” — TIE/sk Striker 44
Ship Total: 44
Half Points: 22 Threshold: 2
Tomax Bren — TIE/sa Bomber 36
Barrage Rockets 7
Ship Total: 43
Half Points: 22 Threshold: 3

Its pretty much a slightly worse version of Luke/Wedge/Thane/Jake, but has some strengths of its own. When I5s are forced to run at 200 pts and have minimal "free" double mods they genuinely can feel balanced. Its that sweet spot of no to minimal bid, very few upgrades, very few passive mods, not enough HP or Regen to get an extra shot from High Hp + the extra shot from High Init.

Kylo lists are in general a great example. He is very good but because the stuff around him is mostly balanced you run at 200 pts and have to compromise in list building. Have to remove upgrades/words. As much as I am a First Order fanboy I wouldn't want it to become to much easier to list build (exception is Tie FOs/Blackout ) otherwise it would take away from some of the fun I have been having running Kylo. Not trying to be a snowflake but when list building is frustrating the game is better.

Thats why I hope most of the 2nd round point changes are just increases with very minimal decreases.
The architects must suffer.

That's a sound advice, thanks! I trained Guri+Friend in preparation for the changes, but I haven't realised that Starviper might get cut from Hyperspace to make space for Wave 5 additions, so I panicked. It's probably time to put some Jedi on the table. Or Inferno Swarm.

While I'm sure that some people are frustrated when they have to make a choice, I think most people would agree with you.

The architects thrive when the "right" thing is nebulous! What is this suffering you speak of?

Wave 4. And scum isn't getting anything. They might still rotate though.

I meant Wave 5 in which Scum will get two ships - Jumpmaster and Scyk. It'll be part of the next Hyperspace season, so they might cut Starviper to include the Jumpmaster, as everything else has been released for 2.0... Or they might not, it's FFG after all, so what pains me is the uncertainity.
