Since he only had his one list, everyone was just straight scooping before they even played him because they all had fun lists and didn't want to play against that any more. He seemed miserable I and felt bad for him, but at the same time he chose to bring that to the last 1.0 Worlds where no one even cared anymore.
That's too bad - I brought a few things but I ended up only doing 1 hanger bay with my World's Squad to get 20 tickets. I really didn't care and played fast and loose.

In his defense, he had no way of knowing 2e would be announced and no one would care anymore, haha.
I'm surprised he didn't borrow things though - wish I'd have known, we had extra stuff in case of last second FAQs and such, surely we could have assembled SOMETHING playable for him...

I'm not all that surprised. I asked the nearest three people for a Phantom dial at GenCon 2017, but that's as far as I took that direction. I was more willing to buy another ship than to ask around strangers - but FFG didn't have any in stock at the time.
I realize there are people more than willing to help, but it's... um... socially awkward? I don't know, people are weird. I'm more than willing to help a stranger out, but don't like to ask a stranger for help myself.

This is also correct, he couldn't have known about 2e. I had almost all my stuff there as well and offered to let him play something else. He declined. For all I know he was enjoying just raking in tickets for no real effort, but he did still seem miserable.

He probably was - almost everyone came to play, even if what they came to play is to present puzzles to their opponent (not this guy, just saying in general).
Even when someone correctly knows to not engage, they generally dislike it.
Such a shame that we didn't get an over/under for the upcoming points. I still don't know if they're going to go with hilariously over-costed for Jedi a la pre fix E-wings or hilariously under like Redline and friends. I mean, I think that FFG would want to sell as many expacs of the new sets as possible, so maybe x5 Jedi with named pilots and good upgrades is going to be a list.

Branching off this (and this is not an indictment of the developing meta, it's fine), but things still feel somewhat like this (to me). It's mostly the Rebel beef/alpha, TIE swarms, 5 Yion (and 4 phantoms in Extended)...I feel like there are some definite brick walls I have to approach and figure out how to circumnavigate to be successful. Some, it just doesn't seem feasible to do so, wherein my best hope is to chip off a couple bricks (MOV), then stay away.
The Murray Trial final is a good example of this in play. Matt was the brick wall and Jordan had to figure out how to get around that wall or chip it away to have any hope (outside of 2-die disadvantage on final salvo). Leia actually turns that wall into more of a brick tower, since he can flip everyone around at will.
Again, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It will just lead to a lot of early jockeying for position until one side either gets bored or a mistake is made. May the most patient player win!

Simplified even more, it comes down to burden of execution. I would imagine that recognizing who has the burden of execution in each game is on par with knowing your win condition.
My first guess for the new meta...4 104s and a torrent. Starting with the cheapest torrent you get 7 points leftover and everyone is I2.
Judge!
Anakin and R4P17, I get to choose which effect is first "After you fully execute a red maneuver, you may spend 1 to perform an action, even while stressed." and "After you fully execute a maneuver, if there is an enemy ship in...", right?
Supernatural 7B Anakin and Obi-Wan is 204....
...Why even live?
Official squad builder lets me put 10 vultures in a list, who are you to tell me that isn’t a legal squad?

Yes
Also afterburners and the ship ability. Have fun!
Not sure how real because, you know, official squad builder, but hyperspace format added more ships to each faction. I'm personally waiting until I see the PDFs to be sure.

Quiet, I want to believe.
Apparently Starvipers and TIE Bombers are now hyperspace legal?!
AND INTERCEPTORS!
Rebels got A- and B-wings
Edited by GreenDragoonIf true, new players can escort themselves out the door.
Have fun finding those 1.0 packs.

How is Dooku, who while less reliable is also more versatile than 1.0 pre nerf Palps, only 9 points? While costume change Palps is 14?

"balance"
It looks like Vader crew and Ciena Ree have been added to Hyperspace along with the Bomber, the Interceptor, the rebel A-Wing, and the Star Viper. Not sure if there are other upgrades added. The squad builder is tough to navigate on my screen. who knew?
