TBF, Redline is impressive in taking advanced sensors boost-in-shoots lessons from 1st edition Corran, Kylo, and Brobots. I've tried the boost and shoot from the Grand Inky, but his turn-around maneuvers just don't cover the ground needed to justify that over the Supernatural way of token stacking.

What decent ship/pilot from each faction is "untouchable" and will exist in every format probably?

Also this is all out of my *** because who knows how many ships they will add, 4 just sounds like a safe number, and I went for base and gameplay variety id like to see just to make list building interesting

and as another note, my local store has been second edition format only and rebels are a lot better in the limited field, our tournament last month was 50 percent rebel ( I was the only one playing scum) it was basically Luke and stuff or tie swarm

you only need to drop traj and 5 more points. you can keep either seismic and abalative, or proton on redline. It's okay to just drop bombs out the back like god intended.

Protons maybe, or switching to a mine. But I am more of the opinion that points can be spent better than for a protonbomb on redline without trajsim.

Vader has more fans than any other character so he's the Empire's untouchable ship.

Luke and is also likely untouchable.

I think Boba Fett is the most untouchable Scum ship. He has tons of fans and is the only scum ship to appear in the OT.

Han is touchable purely because he exists as in multiple versions in multiple factions.

Probably Anakin and maybe Kenobi from Prequels. Poe and Kylo from Sequels.

Seperatists are unlikely to have "untouchable" characters.

I don’t know about that. Maul is very popular and they used his ship to announce the Seperatist faction.

Grevious is another candidate. He’s got a personal Starfighter from the movies and I’ve been seeing a desire for it to be in the game.

Maaaybe Dooku, though his ship is rather odd.

On the topic of trying "new" stuff with Rebels, this is what I've found out thus far:

• Something like Lando/Luke looks cool on paper, then you put it on the table and it doesn't do enough damage and burns to the ground too quick. I have zero faith in in the large freighters and/or low ship counts for Rebels.
• Most people seem to be going with torp alphas for Rebel lists because it's the obvious stuff, just like most of the Imp/Scum stuff has been fairly obvious stuff. I think a torp carrier or two is good, but relying too heavily into them is a mistake. If you can't get the torps off or the dice crap out on you for those torp shots, you're boned.
• Leaning into the "Good Rebel Stuff", the below list has been doing pretty good with more testing to follow.
  • It brings a lot of red dice to the table which don't really rely on each other and creates some target priority confusion
  • Arvel hasn't triggered a ton, partially due to me not being that great with him and partially, as my opponents tell me, he creates area denial which they are avoiding
  • Okay, yeah, I get it...Sabine is great
  • Blount is no slouch at 30pts
  • No one ever shoots that BSE early, so his 3-die attack stays in the game until the end
  • It bleeds MOV
  • It spreads damage
  • I've not played against any meta lists yet, so it might totally suck

The problem is rebels have to go up against the other two (and soon four) factions, so the comparisons are valid. It doesn't "work" if there are numerous border line strictly better alternatives

With your salad, that could actually just be strong enough anyways. In conjunction with Wedge, you can cast a pretty big wide net of "Don't Go There" and your opponent could run out of places to go. Focused fire will be tricky, but you have the advantage of possibly forcing errors.

I get that. It was really just intended as a jumping off point for discussion on things Rebels might do differently than we've seen thus far.

It's more an expression of my bitterness than anything. I read Arvel's ability when the conversion kits were spoiled and loved the change. Instantly thought of intimidation and was looking forward to trying him out. But having tried it twice now the only feeling I get is that I wish he was a tugboat and costing 40% more certainly doesn't help with that.

Beyond that though I feel like he's the weak link in that list. Wedge is, while not the Rebel savior, solid for the cost, same with Blount, Sabine is amazing, and the U-Wing is I think one of the underexplored Rebel ships that ends up being more flexible doing more work than initially appears. It seems like there should be something else, something better, you could slot in for 39 points. The sad fact that I cant think of anything is a symptom of where the Rebels are at the moment
