The Evening Lamp OOC

I'd say there's not enough to do that to begin with. Would probably fall under some kind of social check to get it out of him anyhow.

How about a blue die on the next social interaction with him, as I notice his binders were chaffing his wrists and adjusted how they fit and salved his wound?

If you want.

@Magnus Arcanus , you want to try to interact with him, or should I? I've tried to feed him and chatted him up a bit, so I could try for some good cop, but it's your boost die to do with as you will, so feel free to try bad cop. :)

SB go for it. All I can really do is threaten him (Coercion), and that doesn't really fit with me being nice to him to get a boost die.

Good deal. @Blackbird888 , what's the difficulty based on what I just wrote in my latest IC post? I'm aiming for Negotiation (a name and some cooperation in exchange for loosening the binders), but I can see this being considered Charm, too. Let me know which you'd prefer me to roll, and what the difficulty should be.

it would be Charm vs. Discipline (YYG), with 2 Setback due to, y'know, antagonism and such.

OK, I'm going to use Sense Danger (my 1/session incidental) to remove the 2 setbacks from the check. And I'm adding in the Boost from Bralane's Perception check:

Charming a prisoner : 3eA+1eP+1eB+2eC+1eD 1 success, 1 threat
a-a.png a-a.png a-s.png p-a-a.png b--.png c-th.png c-th-th.png d-th-th.png

Yikes. By the skin of my teeth!

You get him to answer, but you're not sure if what he tells you is accurate or mocking. I'll make an IC post with the response.

Any chance a Discipline check can tell whether he's lying? Zik has Nobody's Fool, but there is that 1 Threat from the Charm check. I can see it going either way: the Threat is to require the second check (Discipline), or the 1 Threat is that we just can't get his name this way.

The latter option.

Hey, folks: I'm about to head to the airport for a couple of intercontinental flights. I may have Internet access at my layover airports, but I may also be incommunicado for 24 hours or so. If the impetus is just to march to Gilgal, you probably don't need my input, so please soldier on!

I guess the next step would be to start on Gilgal. Does anybody want to wrap anything up here, or should I make a post moving everybody along? I don't think there will be any checks necessary to move along, so we could maybe just jump ahead, if everybody is okay with that.

I thought we were just awaiting Phoon's return to camp?

Otherwise, okay by me to move forward.

I thought I covered that when Shisa said that he was fine.

If we don't go anywhere Chadrik will just go back to sleep. So I suppose we'd best get going before he dozes off. :)

Yeah, fast-forwarding to Gilgal sounds good.

I'm cool with moving forward. At this point Kamoa will just be socializing with Shisa. So if moving forward is what she does, he will continue.

After everybody packs up their belongings, the group sets out. The path back down the mountain is the same as it was ascending, and soon they are on the main road. Phoon rejoins the group partway down, and Shisa trades walking for riding on his back . Progress is steady though slow through the forest road. Shisa and Phoon alternate between leading the way with some of the others, but the pair stays close to the front. Amanojaku--for lack of a sure name--remains near the middle and offers no resistance, though he doesn't speak again and ignores any more offers for food.

Okay, big dog. I have no idea why I was imagining miniature poodle size.

We are talking about an animal that ripped out the throat of a full grown. I mean, yeah, a miniature poodle could probably do that, but not easily.

Sheesh, I'm glad Chadrik and Phoon get along well.

I'm so sorry for my absence, everyone. I'm helping my mom with moving, which involves helping her cleaning out the accumulated junk of four people in one house for two decades. I'm going to try to get back into a regular posting rhythm.

I should check in, too. I'm currently out of the country in a place without reliable Internet access. I'll post when I can, but I may be a bit touch-and-go until I get back to the States on Tuesday.

So they finally caught up with you, eh? You should probably avoid posting on the Internet when avoiding the law, but whatever.

Sorry about that delay. I was contemplating how best to progress for longer than I'd like.

Unrelated, but is anybody interested in a really good beef stew recipe?

This really made me LOL. Let's just say I'm getting more inspiration for Zik. Whether that's his storyteller side or his mistrust-of-the-law side, I'll never say. :)

And beef stew recipe? Yes please.
