The Evening Lamp OOC

We have two more goes before the bad guys act. Assuming @KungFuFerret is willing to go last, I can boost him before the enemies act, so you should be golden. If he's not planning on pressing the attack, I can go last and use Influence to try for some Strain damage.

I'll just go ahead and attack. BlackBird, any defenses or upgrades I need to know about before I make my brawl attack?

Eh, as much as I want to punch someone, Kamoa wouldn't leave her side. Feel free to do whatever you want, he'll just take last action slot.

Question from me, too, @Blackbird888 : What range are the enemies at for those of us by the lamp? Short?

Medium (whip) and longish.

I think @Magnus Arcanus wanted to know if there's any upgrade on her attack on whip man. I'll wait for her to go, then I'll act depending on what happens during her turn. That will lave Kamoa for our last slot.

Sorry. Adversary 1 only.

Cool thanks. Bralane will take two maneuvers to aim, and then I will make a brawl attack.

Brawl vs 2nd in Command : 1eP+5eA+2eB+1eD+1eC 2 successes, 4 advantage
p-s-a.png a-a-a.png a-a.png a--.png a-a.png a-a.png b--.png b-s.png d--.png c-th-th.png

8 Damage (6 Brawn +2 successes) before soak. Since this a brawl attack, it adds Disorient 1 and Knockdown qualities to the attack, so I will spend all 4 advantage to activate one of each.

Zik can't really do much at this range, but I don't think he'd leave the girl's side (like Kamoa). I think he'll turn on his collar amp (allowing him to be heard normally out to long range) and try to convince the two remaining baddies to surrender. His style isn't to threaten them, but rather to convince them to see reason that they're outnumbered and would be better off giving up. But I'll let you decide if that's Coercion or Negotiation, @Blackbird888 , and what the difficulty will be—if it's possible at all, that is.

At this point, it would't be possible.

3 damage after soak. Not down yet.

Well, I mean, he is DOWN, 'cause she just Knocked him down, but I know what you mean :P .

EDIT: Also, I note we haven't seen the IC post for Kai's action after Takane came to back him up :) .

That's too bad. Everyone just keeps yelling "yield!" so I thought I'd add some fuel to the fire. I still think it's what Zik would do, so I'll narrate it and essentially forego my turn. :( I'll post after we get Kai's and Takane's IC actions.

Just so I know who to post after: Do we need a post from @Edgehawk or @Blackbird888 before we finish out the round?

I have been waiting to see how the Leader responds to my attack before narrating it... I was hoping the swoop & swarm combo would take him down, if he had no means of parrying the blows.

Has it moved back to the NPC slots? I'm having trouble keeping track.

No, we've got one more slot (mine), but Edgehawk says Kai's attack on the leader hasn't been resolved.

Perhaps we could implement a system of indicating which slot in the roster we are taking. Specifically stating the number slot we are using at the beginning of our OOC post describing our action. That way, knowing ahead of time that the NPC's are *whatever numbers for that encounter), we could know how much is left in the turn order. And it could help you know when it's your turn to take action.

That could work. Let's try using numbers for turns, and letters for rounds.

Is the leader down after Kai's 17 damage against him, @Blackbird888 (it was two strikes, one for 10 wounds, the second for 7)? My next action depends on whether we're up against one enemy now (just Mr. Whip) or two.

OH, I see it now. Somehow I looked at it and it didn't register.

Yeah, the leader is officially down.

Round 3 / Slot 6:

OK, cool. Since Coercion and Negotiation aren't options, I'll:

1) Use my free maneuver to move within Short range of Mr. Whip, who is on the ground still;

2) Use an incidental to turn on my collar amp;

3) Use Influence to inflict some strain. Rolling now:

2eF : 3 Dark Side [2eF=DS, DS/DS]
f-ds.png f-ds-ds.png

I'll spend 1 pip to let the power work at Short range, and then I'll activate the base power twice to inflict 2 strain on Mr. Whip, due to feelings of insecurity and inadequacy. This, of course, gives me 3 conflict, but I'll narrate it out. (Oh, but do you want to treat this as an opposed check, @Blackbird888 ? Should I roll versus Mr. Whip's Discipline to have the strain attack land? If so, what skill would I use?)

Edited by SavageBob

No need for an opposed check.

Good deal. Your go for Mr. Whip, then.

The whip wielder makes a throwing knife attack at Zik: maneuver to stand, Quick draw, attack...

1eA+2eP+2eD+1eS : 0 successes, 3 advantage [1eA=A/A] [2eP=-, S/A] [2eD=F, -] [1eS=-]
a-a-a.png p--.png p-s-a.png d-f.png d--.png s--.png

1eS : 1 failure [1eS=F]
s-f.png

Recover 1 strain, use a free maneuver to disengage.

Shisa passes on her action.
