I figured it was a good chance to get some intel on the Ao Andon, but y'all will have to do that with the head honcho.
The Evening Lamp OOC
Internet is back, so I can post without stinkin' mobile shenanigans.
Seems @Absol197 hasn't been able to post in quite some time, and like most others aren't interested in the constable scene. Should we gloss over it and move on? Or would it be enough for one or two of the PCs to give her a version of how we captured the Ao Andon and then move back on track?
Maybe one or two can give a quick answer, and maybe we can try to speed it along.
We'll give @Absol197 a bit more time (moves are stressful) before I shoot a PM and we'll see.
I am not adverse to speeding things along a bit.
I am fine with either hand waiving the encounter or just letting it play out with one or two players. I figure the Face(s) of the party should get their chance to be talky and have encounters where they can shine. Bralane is built to be more combat focused, so I figure I will get my chances to shine during combat and physical encounters.
I mean, I don't really care either way. If it's that big of a problem then let's just screen wipe and be done with it. Kamoa's just not going to murder someone because oocly he's a minion and thus doesn't matter.
Putting players into situations their characters aren't built for is part of the GM's job, at least in the way I GM my own games. At any rate, Zik's not around, so that leaves one or two of the rest of you to give a quick description. It could be as simple as "Bralane gives a curt recounting of the battle with the Ao Andon," just enough to make the narrative coherent, unless BB needs more than that.

I'm so sorry, folks. I hate reneging on games, but this was...exhausting. And not only had I just finished moving, then my mom got a job in Portland Oregon, so now I'm working on moving her there, too >_< !
That should be less involved, though, because it's not as time-sensitive. If you don't hate me yet, I should be able to jump back in now. Give me a bit to read through the threads and see where we're at?
I have to say SBob, that you are really triggering memories of the monk from Gamers: Dorkness Rising. Which if any of you haven't seen, what is wrong with you.
He would toss out those "wise sayings" all the time, but they were always just a little off. And the other players would always turn to him and be like "say what now?"
I love him so much, I actually my handle on several sites to be an homage to him.
Yeah, i'm really impressed with how SBob can come up with those sayings. Unfortunately, even though Chadrik has a high Intellect, he might not be the best at subtlety. Not to mention the fact that he is rather tired.
Never heard of Gamer: Dorkness Rising, but what is Youtube for anyway?

Last I checked, it's on there. And yes, the monk had some glorious gems. One of my favorite being : "Ah yes, the 4 elements (referring to Earth, Air, Fire, Water), are weak alone, but when combined, make the fifth, and stronger element.......Boron" *blank stares of the rest of the party*
And my personal favorite, and has been a signature on many a forum. "HE WHO STUMBLES IN DARKNESS IS BLIND....BUT HE WHO....STANDS OUT IN DARKNESS IS.........FLUORESCENT!!!"
I loved that one so much I took the handle FluorescentMonk as a result.
God I need to go watch that again now.
I don't think I could play Zik the same way in a live game, but in PbP, I can look through a book of African proverbs to give him nuggets like these, whether entirely appropriate or not. He's loosely based on the older characters you see in Nigerian movies, where proverbs and sayings are a shorthand way for the filmmakers to suggest "traditional."
Anything else anybody wants to do around Gilgal, like shopping or something? Or do you just want to get a move on?
I'm fine with moving on.
Moving on works for me.
I would look to replenish minor sundry items, maybe get some rudimentary food stuffs, but honestly I don't have much in the way of actual credits to spend on anything anyway.
Kamoa has 1200 credits. If anyone needs anything like supplies or whatever, it's not really an issue. I'm not buying you a blaster rifle or anything but if you want some rations or a lantern, or some rope or whatever, just do a list.
We kill everyone and loot the town.
(just kidding)
I think Zik ate a single ration, so no big deal. Maybe we can assume we all ate a meal somewhere and replenished our rations. Should we just deduct something to represent that, BB?
I don't think it's that important. A McSpaceDonalds stop isn't particularly interesting.

Does Gilgal have Biscuit Baron ? Or are those only found further toward the Rim?

Nah, though I do bet they have something like a Muffin Moff. Muffins so good you'll subjugate the inferior species' for it!
I'll just describe the next part and we'll assume any shopping to be done has been done. Account for anything that you want to buy (within reason, of course) and we'll assume you picked it up in between the edits.
Biscuit Baron. God help me.
What Perception or Vigilance difficulty is it to find the source of the sound? Takane is really on edge !
Unnecessary as of right now. I'm simply setting the stage and letting people comment.
