The Evening Lamp OOC

So, sounds like we have Bralane's action to resolve first. After that, we just need to figure out who's bringing up the rear. I think Chadrik?

ETA: Actually, @SebastianArrow asked not to go last. Would it make sense for Takane to go last? She's not engaged with anyone at the moment, so it shouldn't make too much difference if she's in the cluster or after the baddies go.

If Kai wants to, he can head after the leader. Chadrik can attack the baddies that he is currently engaged with after Kai swoops off. Or Kai can stay and level the two and Chadrk can provided backup (if needed) or go after some other target.

I was thinking that Kamoa can go last. Body Guard lasts until he takes his turn, and then he needs to activate it again. If he's planning on just doing that, it doesn't matter much if it's on the first or last turn, it's the same effect. But all the rest of us going first allows those who are reducing the number of assailants to act first, potentially making the renewal of the ability unnecessary.

I was thinking:

1. Bralane

2. NPC (probably Phoon doing his thing again)

3. Kai (he's the most engaged, and how successful he is determines how much support he needs from the rest of us)

4. Chadrik (in the best position to offer support where it's needed)

5. Zik (to give those good good buffs!)

6. Takane to jump in where needed;

7. and 8. Shisa and the first enemies;

9. Kamoa (to re-up his Body Guard, if needed)

10+. The rest of the remaining enemies.

Love it. Let's do this! :)

I'll go ahead and just take the first slot.

Bralane would like to:

Take one or two maneuvers such that she is engaged with as many of the bad guys as possible.

Action to use Enhance and raise brawn by 2.

This is pretty much my whole turn right here. All I need to know is whether I spend 1 or 2 maneuvers getting as close to as many bad guys as possible.

The one that attacked Bralane has to be within short range, and at least one minion group remains at short range (closest to Kai). One remains at medium, and the leader is at medium range from Kai.

Can I spend two maneuvers to engage with the Leader and the one of the minion groups?

Not with the leader himself. The minion group around Phoon is doable.

Are any of them attempting to approach the girl?

Kai attempts to close with the leader again:

  • Maneuver to short range
  • Hawk Bat Swoop (use 1 dark pip to engage/ take 1 strain and 1 conflict)
Description Hawk Bat Swoop Leader
Results 3eA+2eP+1eF+1eD+1eC+2eS : 1 failure, 3 advantage, 2 Dark Side [3eA=A/A, A/A, S/A] [2eP=S, A] [1eF=DS/DS] [1eD=F/Th] [1eC=Th/Th] [2eS=F, F]
a-a-a.png a-a-a.png a-s-a.png p-s.png p-a.png f-ds-ds.png d-f-th.png c-th-th.png s-f.png s-f.png
  • Use 3 Advantage to disarm
  • Maneuver to retrieve Stimpack from utility belt (take 2 strain)
  • Incidental "YIELD!!" with saber extended point in line

Not yet, seeing as it's not their turns.

So, I guess it's an NPC slot now? Anything to resolve from Kai's turn?

Then Bralane can go, and we'll be back to Absol's plan.

Nothing specific about Kai's action, and it can proceed as @Edgehawk laid out. I think it would be best if we posted IC for each turn.

I am going to just engage with the Lieutenant that attacked me then. Same action though; commit 2 FD to brawn. I'll narrate my turn when I get a chance.

Shisa takes the next turn. Next up.

Tally Ho!

Chadrik will move to Short Range of the two minions Kai left behind and will spend two strain to engage the two.

Action to attack!

Lightsaber!

2eA+2eP+2eD+1eS : 1 success, 1 advantage [2eA=A/A, -] [2eP=A, S/S] [2eD=Th, F] [1eS=Th]
a-a-a.png a--.png p-a.png p-s-s.png d-th.png d-f.png s-th.png

That's eight damage. Do I level anyone? Oh and by the way, Chadrik gains Defensive when he has his Lightsaber ignited. One of his lightsaber perks.

You kill an additional minion.

So is that both of them or just one killed?

Edited by SebastianArrow

Just one.

I'll take next slot. Buffing Takane's Presence with Imbue:

2eF : 2 Light Side, 2 Dark Side [2eF=DS/DS, LS/LS]
f-ds-ds.png f-ls-ls.png

So, discarding the dark side pips. Takane now has a Presence of 4 until I take another turn.

ETA: For my maneuver, Zik will maintain the Guarded Stance.

forgot my maneuver

Yay!

Okay, to make sure I have the mental map all laid out:

1. Takane, Kamoa, Zik, and Shisa are all engaged with each other at the back of the battlefield;

2. We are within short range of Bralane and the Lieutenant, who are engaged with each other in the middle of the battlefield;

3. We are at medium range to everyone else; Kai and the Leader are engaged (the leader has been disarmed of his weapon); Chadrik and Minion group 2 (which is only a single individual at this point) are engaged; Phoon and Minion Group 1 are not engaged; all the engagements or individual actors in this cluster...thing are within short range of each other.

Is that about right?

That's about right.

Great!

Let's see...I'm a little torn on where to go. I could help Bralane, but the fact that Shisa recalled Phoon and that leaves the other Minion group without a target means they could gang up on Kai, who is already in a rough place. I think I'll do this:

--Maneuver: Move to short range of Minion Group 1

--Maneuver: Move to engage Minion Group 1 [Cost: 2 strain]

--Action: Attack Minion Group 1.

This ensure that all the enemies have someone they're facing off with, keeping them busy so that none of us has to face more than 1 attack each turn (hopefully). Roll to come. Any Defense or upgrades to Minion Group 1, Crow? What's the Destiny Pool at? If it's above 50/50, I'll spend a Destiny Point to upgrade my attack, seeing as Takane is really focused and Zik did just conjure her ancestors in voice, as she was doing in mind.

5-5 Destiny pool, I believe. No special defenses on the minions.

Excellent. I'll spend a DP to add that upgrade...

The Lethal Draw (Lightsaber [Pre]) : 4eP+2eD 4 successes
p-s-a.png p-s-s.png p-s-s.png p-s.png d-th.png d-f-f.png

Well, darn. Not quite as good as I was hoping. I assume that, because the minion group is two characters (even if it's only one "actor"), my Duelist Training doesn't apply. If so, the final result is 4 successes and 1 advantage (from the high quality of the sword). That's 9 damage pre-soak, and I'll recover a strain.
