I'd be very surprised if we receive any more goodies before Q2 next year.

if anything, IA is moving towards a more stretched release schedule, and don't forget Legion is due out early in the New Year. FFG will be wanting all of us Star Wars gaming fans to buy into that new product line in a big way, and I can't believe they'd want any competing products being released around the same time.

I don't think we're yet at the stage of only seeing one boxwave per year, and we might still get an announcement soon. But I doubt I'll get any news toys in my hands before next summer.

Getting new toys is always great, but I have to agree with you that our multiple "christmas eves" may not come as often as it used to be. Anyway it's not like if we didn't have much to play with until the next announcement. I can wait till then (even more if the app gets released in the meantime)

So what are the odds of getting a development diary article tomorrow?

Think we'll see something or will FFG consider the video interview with Team Covenant to be too similar to worry about any other announcement above the 10/12 release article we are surely going to see?

L5R is an IP almost as old as CCGs themselves hailing from a magical time known as the 1990s. There's probably some crusty gamer somewhere showing the new game to a grandchild.

Yep, it's pretty old.

Have a look at the Legend of the Five Rings Wiki for more on the established canon history (in game) and it has extensive content on the previous CCG and RPG games by AEG and Wizards of the Coast

Yeah, did a little digging yesterday on it. Surprised I've never heard of it before! I figured it was a new IP FFG had started, not one they'd recently acquired.

That's cool, I'm excited for fans now.

Spoiled today... my son, under 2, discovered the Jabba's Realm rancor sitting on my desk this morning...and he loves it. T minus four years to Skirmish.

Just be careful. My son's the same age and he always likes looking through all of my painting stuff. I considered that a positive until about a month ago when I found a half-painted weequay hiding behind the garbage can, with his partner still MIA (assumed dead/composted)

When my little brother was about 5, I made an extremely simplified version of the rules for the LOTR Games Workshop minis game for us to play. I pooled up a bunch of pennies and nickles as "treasure" for the winner (of course, he definitely beat me with nothing but skill).

Once they get to the age that you can trust them not to throw or slam the minis, anything's possible really. Though I might keep them away from some of the more fragile minis like the Gamorreans. Those spears can break off easy.

I'm way too impatient for 10/12 to arrive.

And I'm pretty excited for Eldritch Horror. Not only do I also play that game, but I think the fact that it's still getting expansions somehow bodes well for IA.

Although, there's so much art recycling between Destiny and IA, anything developed for Destiny has a chance at speeding up IA development. Right?

Apparently I should have. Between my optimism at Eldritch Horror and yours at Destiny, we really aren't fitting into this doom and gloom IA Player in 2017 thing, are we?

I know this is completely off topic, but since there's not much else going on in this thread right now...

I've only played Eldrich Horror a few times, but I'm a huge fan of Arkham Horror and IMO the best addition that they made to that game was to give all of the investigators personal stories. Looking at the EH announcement it looks like they're doing the same thing for that game - hopefully you're in for a treat! Not only do they add to the overall 'story' of the game, but they give you a fun little secondary goal and make each character feel just that much more unique.
