If I'd ever be a victim of a catastrophe or some act of violence, the last thing I'd want is for compnies NOT to anounce or release games or anything else that brings fun and enjoyment to peoples' lives in an effort to remember my death or suffering or whatever, quite the contrary. But that's just me. Life goes on. Not releasing or anouncing a game - as an example - doesn't help anyone who is affected by a catastrophe.

Kind of with you on this. I would think that the people affected by tragedies like this have bigger things to worry about right now.

Ughhhh, my heart skipped a beat when I saw Cad Bane on the front page.

Why do you do this to me, Destiny? Why?

So, with a new Netrunner Core Box release, does anyone think we might someday see a Core set rerelease for IA? :D

Amazon lists HotE to ship on November 30th. Does this seem realistic/official? Last update from FFG was on the boat on 7/26. I just painted my last IA piece and we're about to play the Jabba's Realm finale. Help!

Would a new core box be compatible with the current version, or would it essentially restart the game?

I don't really see a need for a new core box anytime soon. The errata isn't so cumbersome that it hurts the game and (I think) the newly printed core boxes have updated cards (like rebels sabs).

My thought is that they will release a new core box oriented around episodes 7-9. But I don't expect this for a while. Maybe a couple years. At the soonest, I could see this being announced at Force Friday Sept 2019, but even that is a stretch.

Nah, that's just Amazon throwing out a wild guess. They don't really know, no retailer does until the product is in shipping or in stores.

And I guess we can't say anything for certain, but I really, really doubt it'll be another 2.5 months before we get the change simply to shipping. I'd say that's extremely unrealistic. At this point, I'll be pretty surprised if we don't switch to shipping by tomorrow.

That is my thought as well. While they have done away with the time periods "for a more open-ended play experience", I only see them releasing a new core set where the components are not a complete retread of the existing core set and see them rebrand it as something like "First Order Fury, an Imperial Assault game". I guess the components could be intermixed but "purists" could still keep the timelines separate if they so chose.

Sure, we'll have to repaint stormtroopers but they will be FIRST ORDER stormtroopers! And Han Solo will have a different jacket.

Yeah... that, if anything, is why I now feel like a prequel version might actually be better (especially since FFG absurdly decided to not make their miniatures wargame prequel-themed). At least painting battle droids would be different and rewarding. FO stormtroopers just... I don't know, I'm just not really excited about that at all. I'd much rather just get more variants for the Imperial troopers than that.

A Kylo Ren mini would be cool, though...

I'm not a painter, so maybe I'm wrong - but Captain Phasma in the right hands could look amazing.

And hopefully they keep her attributes thematic and make her basically useless:)

...and then three years later release a skirmish attachment for her that makes her playable and name it "I was only incompetent in Ep VII". :D

We still haven't had a tie fighter in IA strangely. What will Finn use to murder random people with when he's added? Of course, no one would play his side mission anyway since he'll be 12 points and his first action will be to say "I only said I'd save all those people's lives for the ride here. So long suckers!" and run off.

I don't know. I'm pumped for this release. Sounds like some good new figures and tech from the core and expansions. The beauty of this game is that who knows what's next.

if there's a next... we'll wait and see..

I think there will be, at least a blister wave. And I agree, there's definitely an unknown factor, now that most of the major stuff has been covered.

I think there will be. When Legion got announced I got a little worried. I was hard core into X-wing up until last year and I had a brief stint with Armada and Destiny. IA became my clear favourite (yes, I'm Canadian). I love Star Wars like everyone on these FFG forums, but importantly I love value. IA is the best value for the money. It's really hard for anyone to argue that. Maybe the small expansions are pricey (unpainted plastic figures) compared to x-wing (well painted ships), but the IA game is overall a better game if you love Star Wars.

Anyways, after giving it some thought, I think FFG just wants a piece of the table top war gaming pie now that things are sorted out with GW. I could be wrong, but I can tell you one thing, I won't be picking up legion and will still be enjoying IA. I think the fact that IA is essentially 4 games-in-one, it will survive. Will skirmish survive? It's hard to know. It barely stays afloat in my local gaming group and I live in the heart of the biggest city in Canada.

For me, I believe it's a better game than the others, so I will be a loyal player to the end and will not go back to those other games.

So, no change to Shipping yet...

But it doesn't look like the "Upcoming" page has been updated at all yet- particularly because today's In Stores are still listed as Shipping, too. So, I guess it's still possible.

They changed a lot of stuff to Shipping yesterday so I'm not sure if it'll happen this week. Still though, I'm about as hopeful as you are. Fingers crossed!

LOL!!! I have to be honest. The waiting sucks, but the anticipation is amazing! Makes me feel like a kid. I wish they would just set a date! I can count it down on the calender like it's Christmas! As soon as I get my hands on a new expansion, it's like I've found gold. I have to get it home as soon as possible before others try to take it from me. I want to clear up my table like I'm preparing for a ritual and enjoy the "new boardgame smell -TM-" (someone needs to sell that as a scent like car smell).

Well, they've shifted stuff now, so nothing today. Bummer.

GIVEN PAST RELEASE times shouldn't we have seen HOtE updated to shipping by now? The fact that we haven't seen it yet has me wondering if we will get a blister before Christmas. Perhaps the only release we will see is the app, which I know we would all be more than fine with :)

We're sitting at about 50 days now. Jabba's Realm spent the most time on the boat, at 55 days, closely followed by Twin Shadows at 54. So yeah, judging just by that, I'd say we're due any time. By next Thursday, we'll be well into record-breaking territory for this game.
