OK, just to say it out loud: Maybe a new IA core set in the new era? App driven of course. (Odds of this are 3720 to 1)

I think Force Fridays are first reveals on new movie stuff. So whatever it is, I'd expect something TFA or TLJ themed.

Screw it, move over VadersMarchKazoo make room for this noob to hop on your bandwagon. I like those odds, so put me down for $5. :D

A 2nd legion core set makes sense given the ground bAttles we will see in the next movie. It could be released on force friday and he the 1st core box.

More boring options are a last Jedi beginners box for the rpg or adding the new fighters to the just announced x-wing wave. Both would be consistent with previous product announcements.

Worst case scenario is a second IA core box using the LEGION scale, with all support that isn't backwards compatible.

So I know I joked above about a Legion second core box, but more realistically it could be Legion: Wave 1 including TLJ figures. These probably wouldn't get released day off though.

But adding fighters to the coming X-Wing wave, that's something I expect to see.

Hmmm, the more I think about a sequel trilogy edition, the more I'm for it- given these conditions:

- Heroes from both games are playable in each edition (heros just won't add their specific side missions when playing out of their original era)

- non-unique mercs from each game are playable in both editions

- The campaign could also allow for an official "fantasy mode", where eras could be mixed freely (side missions from either era could be added, open groups from either era)

- Tiles from each era could be used in both games in missions on the app.

Another thought to a more canon campaign:

A conversion chart for Starting and Reserved groups (for instance, one Stormtrooper group = one FO Stormtrooper group, 1 eNexu+1 rTrando= 1 e Praetorian Guard)

A simple rule stating that Rebellion and Resistance are interchangeable when appropriate, along with Empire and First Order in story text. Some heroes and villains in story text may need conversions, too. Seems like that might be a lot of work for questionable balance, though

I'd be into it even if it were not fully integrated with current IA. BUT, I'd rather they stay in the OT timeline for a couple more years to give us everything we want here first.

I also heard a rumor that the new product will be $30- so IA is probably out of the question since that's less than a small box and more than a blister;)

Sounds more like an LCG or an XWing core to me.

There is a bit more information on the legion forum. Whatever it is will be on sale next week, it comes in cases of 6 and they cost $30 each (not sure if this is retail price or how much it cost the store).

This price point matches a rpg beginner game or an x-wing aces pack.

I'm calling it. We're not getting any updates on IA until the Upcoming page changes from "On the Boat" to "Shipping Now."

Also, anyone else think it's really weird they are having this Force Friday thing at all? It just seems weird to have a new product announcement two weeks after you have a weekend long event where your core demographic is a captive audience and you are guaranteed lots of media coverage.

This is probably highly incentivized by LF and Disney. They probably held some news back just for this. Plus, I'm sure constant news is probably better then large dumps.

Force Friday is a Star Wars event, not Fantasy Flight, says so in the article as well. Linked here

From FFG, they're just announcing a new game, and timing it with the Star Wars event rather than Gencon because better timing.

They probably figured they'd announce their big thing, Legion, at Gencon, making this announcement less of a big news item, like the X-Wing coreset last year.

"Announcing a new Star Wars product" was quite a misleading phrase for when a tabletop gaming company launches a gimmicky app...

Edit: In reference to this Find the Force thing- this isn't the app you're looking for, basically.

They're just talking about Force Friday, the app is from Disney, not FFG. And Force Friday is a Disney / Star Wars event, not an FFG event. And it'd not even a new app, it's been around for like 2 and half years for Force Awakens' release.

As @neosmagus stated above, Force Friday is a Star Wars thing. Basically it's the day where it becomes okay to start talking about The Last Jedi products.

So sayeth the mouse.

They finally did it. Han/Chewie!

I don't know yet if I like the fixes. Need some playtesting now

Shut up about SW Legion and take my money already! Everything is good about HoE!

And on a Monday no less :)

Yes, the timing is interesting... it's almost exactly 1 month since the new expansion was changed to On the Boat. Does this mean we're about to change to "Shipping Now?" ^_^

Hot dog I love being wrong!

That'd be cool, but I kinda don't expect it to change until at least September 15, if not later. That's one prediction I'd love to be wrong about, though.

FWIW Coolstuffinc lists Heart of the Empire with "August 2017" as the estimated availability date. So I think the status could change by the end of the week - maybe?

That'd be great- but distributors often don't have much more to go off of than we do, at least until they have the product. Generally, those dates are guesses. Another distributor, for instance, had November as their estimated release. For the record, I appreciate CSI's optimism in this case. :P

Still no spoiler of the eSentries ... I hope they are saving the best for last.

Considering how the rSentries were pretty underwhelming, I expect these will be pretty good, as well.

ok, hear me out, the rSentries will probably see very little play in skirmish; however, if we go to campaign, you have to think of attachments to groups. getting 4 shots of arc blasters, or adding the +1 damage from combat veterans. sure, they get the -1 damage but when they make 4 attacks, and with their pierce 2, if you are facing black dice heros, their output will be pretty good.

Yeah, the rSentries are pretty solid for Campaign. It's nice when things are usable in both campaign and skirmish, but it's not always going to work out that way.

Brand new 5 Rings universe board game announced today. Looks more up my alley than the card game, might have to check it out.

I am so confused by FFG's GenCon this year... Almost seems like they just used it simply as Legion platform, since we've had a ton of announcements even in the week and a half following the convention.
