Does FFG not know the official rules for scoring skirmish points?
Rebel troopers:

"Full" 9 points. They'll only get 7 instead of 9.
Even so, you're only making them lose on 1.5 (rounded up to 2) points. Generally, I'd prefer to just use that unit to the last stand. Though I guess Pt factories like Jabba and the Jawas can change how the game is played now.
Anyway, like I said, I don't know skirmish well, so take this all with a healthy gallon of salt.

Nice job. Did your force vision tell you when the app is going to be released and what the next box expansion will be?

I mean, that's if you use it on a Rebel Trooper. The dream would be using it on a 1-HP Jedi Luke that was going to die to a Bantha trample next round anyway, or something like that. In that case your opponent would lose 6 points - that's a lot. Normally it's pretty bad to remove one of your units, even one that will probably die anyway, so I don't expect it to be played - but you never know.

If this is our last bit of new content until December you can officially nail the coffin shut on IA lol
First off, I am grateful for the article and think it was well written, the command cards are interesting.. I see some useful ones in there, it is early so we will have to see how it pans out. I am a BIT under whelmed but until i get to try them out we will have to see how it looks.
Edited by FrogTriggerWell, unfortunately for those hoping for another announcement on May 4th, that is a Thursday- so we probably won't get anything else this week.
Yea I imagine this is it... maybe next week before this wave releases. I enjoyed today's article and it gives us something to talk about leading up to the release, but it's still been 109 days since our last announcement..
Again not trying to seem ungrateful, I've said many times I appreciate the article! But now we really are in the dark with no idea when something is coming. And all we know is that there are 4 sku's missing, which we can think means small box but again we don't know of what or when.
Edited by FrogTriggerAm I right in thinking they have recently let the waves come out before dropping the new announcement a few weeks after? Either way, I wouldn't mind a week or two of enjoying my new toys before they get me excited about something else I won't have for three months!
Edited by General ZoddWell, let's see:
JR released- Dec 29, Wave 9 announced- January 13 (roughly 2 weeks)
Wave 7 Released- early July, JR Announced- August 5 (roughly a month)
Besping Gambit Released- June 2, Wave 7 Announced- May 11 (roughly 3 weeks before TBG was released)
So, I don't think there's too reliable of a rule of thumb, but I don't think it's entirely a bad idea to estimate that the news may come + or - a month within Wave 9's release.
Which will feel like an eternity in this thread
But at least we've got Worlds this weekend, that should jump start the skirmish discussion, especially with the 'new toys' coming out next Thursday to turn everything on its head again.

I'm not sure what you mean by missing sku (I mean, I know what a sku is but that's about it). Would you explain the theory?
Is there a gap between JR and the Hera wave?

Technical data, under the FFG sleeve recommendation. I can't take credit for this, someone else on this board discovered the SKU thing or maybe its a well known FFG loop hole, but either way it wasn't me.
If you look at the newest wave of blisters they are SKUs SWI41-43, then the ISB infiltrators and anchorhead skirmish maps are SKU SWI44 and 45, and the newest map, Jabba's Palace, has a SKU of SWI50. So that means we are missing SKU SWI46, 47, 48 and 49. Which leads us to assume that we have 4 SWI SKUs still coming that are already filled. Good sized wave to be a boxed expansion. So we have a good handle on what is coming, just not the when.
Based on what subtrendy reported above, as far as recent waves go we can probably expect it to come sometime in late May/Early June.
Edited by FrogTriggerYup.
Edited by a1bertOn 4/13/2017, a1bert said:We have known for a while from the product page that there is a gap of 4 product ID's. Reinforcement waves have been 3 packs, except wave 4 (which is 2). Only the Twin Shadows wave is 4 expansions, all the other non-reinforcement waves have 5 (discounting wave 1).
It seems unlikely that any of the ID's are for the app, so it looks like an unusually big reinforcement wave or a boxed expansion.
Speculation time! Why are we missing those SKU products?
Probably the most likely scenario is that developers were shifted off of IA and onto Destiny some time around the turn of the year, when they released what a beast they had on their hands with Destiny. By then the SKUs were already issued and the items at more than just a cursory development stage; but having not been announced, FFG thought they could simply park them for an extra 3 months or so.
Another theory could be that whatever they represent went badly wrong in the design stage, but I don't find that likely.
I like to think that it was an Endor pack, but then they read my posts on why Endor is a kind of terrible setting for IA and decided to do something else entirely.
But I probably give myself too much credit. ![]()
There have been missing product ID's before, it's not unusual. It is just a source of extra information.
Gaps happen naturally when skirmish mats (using FFG's on-demand printing services) and other products have shorter production times than the expansion waves.
It may also be due to Lucasfilm sign off taking a while, or if one of the packs contains a figure based on a living actor there might be other approvals they have to go through depending on what that actor had in their contract. Loads of variables when it comes to licensed products with external approval chains. I used to work at GW (don't throw things at me!) when they first started out with the LOTR license, that was a painful process, but they got there!
Thanks for rehashing the SKU-theory. I had heard through a pretty good source (maybe an interview with Paul W) that they had all the (presumably OT) box expansions designed before Paul left FFG, which would have been a few months ago and aligns well with the idea that the next box expansion and waves (with their SKUs) were developed a while ago but FFG is waiting for the right time to release. This could be due to marketing/sales decisions or hold-ups due to rights issues as the General points out.
This isn't the first time we've noticed the product gaps in IA and it also occurs in other games, just the order in which things are produced as albert said. Nothing more to read into that imo.
We also know from previous interviews that products are generally a year in the making from inception to release, so one could probably dig through the SKU's of previously related products to back up this theory, but we don't really need to just based on the fact that those of us who have been hanging around here a while have 'seen it before'.

That's awesome! I used to love that game!
Granted I was like 10, but I had a blast painting them and trying to follow the rules as best as possible ![]()
LOTR was a great game and to be fair GW did get its release schedule spot on, at least for the first few years when it mattered.
New core boxes to tie in with the film releases, a good flow of models for the following 6+ months, and they did really well on making the oliphant the xmas present for many gamers that year.
I suspect GW had an easier time than FFG do with Disney, but hats off to GW - never really had to complain about their supply issues or release schedule.
