While I don't think every board game ever made needs expansions, I'm sad that Doom isn't selling. Honestly, though, how many people really knew about it. It seems like it has flown under the radar some. Unless you troll the FFG News feed regularly, I can't see how anyone knew about it.

I knew about Doom, but haven't been interested. Too similar to Imperial Assault and I've already sunk all my time and money into Imperial Assault, not to mention Eldritch Horror and Mansions of Madness.

Other than expansions for my currently owned games, I'm saving my money for small quick games.

I expected Doom to be like descent and ia, but it's more like a side mission only version of ia with no character progression or story continuity. Your character doesn't even have a name or any unique abilities. The gameplay is good, but without those other elements it couldn't keep me hooked for a long session like ia or descent

Doom looks interesting, but I think it also suffers a little from its IP. Descent is the OG in this genre (at least for FFG) and it has the most material, so it certainly has staying power. Imperial Assault is Star Wars, which is arguably the most successful IP to utilize. Doom... well, it certainly has its followers, but I don't know that it ever really stood a chance against a behemoth like Star Wars.

I to looked at Doom as a cool but to IA like game for me to justify spending the money on. Where as I look at a game like Rebellion and think "Ya I could get into that" despite already owning a few Star Wars products. I think they just missed the mark, they should have changed its appearance enough that people weren't tricked into thinking it was IA in the Doom world.

I actually got it because I thought it was going to be IA in the doom world and I was all about that. But it was like IA-lite and we only made it through like 4 missions until we had enough.

We don't need no stinkin' AP guides, we have the almighty Sorastro!!! BOW DOWN MERE MORTALS!!!

Sorastro did a RuneWars guide as well, videos for some of the bigger units and then PDF for the spearmen, much better than those AP ones.

it's Tuesday guys, prepare for a preview for the last pack ( i know we missed it last week, but it's coming today)

I think we'll get that last preview accompanying the transition from OTB to Shipping- regardless of day.

They have some slow boats, it's been OTB since March 10.

I hope we get some more command cards revealed in the Hera/Chopper article

Bleh, its early enough though there could be two today still..

I think Articles are on Track:

On the Boat: 10th of March

Article 21st of March (BT) (+11 Days)

04th of April (Jawa) (+14 Days)

So, with +14 days, you're looking at Friday (28th) For Hera.

And then I'd expect you to change over to "Shipping Now" basically any day after that, (maybe even this week, if they hit their 4-6 week on the boat target) before being in stores 2 weeks later....

+14 would be on 18th not 28th :)

Eh. I think, honestly, IA and Armada (Which is where I am mostly) have it good. We're waiting and have definite timeframes (I still expect IA to be shipping now, literally, any day now.)

For once, its X-Wing that leaves me scratching my head.

I mean, X-Wing's newest wave was announced the day after Armada on the 15th of March.

- Armada's wave, announced the day earlier, on the 14th, has been on the boat for 2 weeks so far......

And X-Wing isn't even "In Development" yet.

Some good news - all the new units are now shipping!

Haha I look at this pic of Yoda and I just think of the meme "brb no pics so imagining" as being "brb, no IA news so imagining"

I just want to bring up this post again, because every single time I see that picture of Yoda on the FFG news site I think of this and chuckle.

So that means we are on pace for a mid May release, probably the 18th is my guess. Great! Now we just need that last preview article.

Screw the last preview article.

where's that sweet, sweet small box announcement we're all itching for?

Have they ever released the most recent wave without announcing the next wave?

This pic works even better:

Someone with some skillz needs to meme that up.

Shipping Now is almost always 2 Weeks + Time to get to Thursday.

That puts IA Release Date as the 11th, rather than the 18th....

So even better-er news!

EDIT: And now I've gone and checked, yes, the US Release Date is listed as the 11th....

Sort of? Wave 7 was released in late June/early July last year, with Wave 8 not being announced until early August.

I mean, I guess that's more than a "sort of" and more like a "definitely"... but Wave 7 was kind of a funky wave. Then again, it's pretty similar to the currently shipping Wave 9, in that its a blister for each faction, loosely based on a theme.
