doesnt sound too enthusiastic

I think they are more so just tired of constantly being asked about it at every convention and on their social media :P

The FFG approach is generally a lot of secrecy until they announce something. Then it's hype ! hype!! Hype!!!!

Unless it is IA, then it's announce... *months of crickets*.... maybe hype? :P

ok, new week, who are we going to see spoiled this week :) :D ?

Looks like more RuneWars news today, https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/3/20/arrows-of-rot/

The good news is, they are running out of news for that game lol ... it's release is April 11th so they are building up the hype. Makes me think the blister pack release is farther off than we think due to the lack of hype build.

If it's due out in May, we can probably expect the first spoilers to drop in April?

There's only 3 packs, so they only need three Fridays of previews. It only just went onto the boat a week ago... So till they hit stores its another 7 weeks about (6 weeks on the boat, 2 shipping). So plenty of time for previews and the small box announcement. I suspect we'll get the announcement in the next two to four weeks and the previews in the weeks after that.

Based on previous years, we might see the announcement this week, while it's still March. But for all we know they might be waiting till the coming Star Wars thing where we will also get the trailer for the new film.

Or maybe with how long it took Jabba's Realm to release, maybe they want to start announcing closer to the release date.

Runewars drops in April. SW Destiny's next expansion SoR drops possibly April/May. We might get a preview article in between there.

Hey, at least we're not SWLCG, that game is not getting any news soon...

In the scope of things, how big are IA and Descent?

While I gather they are nothing like the size of Xwing, are they too big to be 'closed down' at this point?

would be typical if I arrive on the scene just as they are winding things down...but at least i have tons of content to go at...but hope plenty more to come too!!

Ive just started (getting IA tomorrow) and you have products in the pipeline. which by Armada standards means we dont expect any news until they have shipped. The last wave we had landed before christmas and we had two months of nothing until wave 6 last week. Jus sayin :)

Anyway with Rebels just starting to be brought in and Rogue one characters and settings still to add this game is far from on its last legs.

The "state" of IA is mostly speculation. I've been into the game since about November, and I can tell you there are two camps. Both agree that we'll probably never see much prequel material in IA There is the majority that feel the game has plenty of life left in it, between content from Rebels, Rogue One, the Legends canon to keep going for a long time. No one ever says what "a long time" means exactly, but I take it to mean beyond 2019.

I am in the minority, in that I think we're going to get a small box expansion this summer, one or two blister packs in the fall, the app in the winter, and then one or two more blisters in spring 2018. After that, all bets are off. It's possible that there could be a big or small box expansion that draws on Rebels or Rogue One, but frankly there's no evidence of that as this time, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

To me, I'd agree with you that it's better to focus on the ridiculous wealth of content that is already out there. My group meets twice a month, and at the rate we're going with the campaign (never even mind the skirmish stuff out there), we could be busy well into 2021.

I'd pretty much agree.

I think the most likely thing is to finish the original trilogy (though I disagree with the masses about Endor- I think we'll get an Imperial Fleet/Death Star II campaign instead).

Yeah, after that, I don't think we're guaranteed everything. As Pollux said, this isn't because of any lack of possible content- we have a ton to draw from with Rebels, R1, Legends, new cannon (like Aftermath, comics, etc). My guess is that we'll probably get a box expansion (or few) based on at least one of these, but again- nothing is guaranteed. The game could be dead after the droid wave, as far as we know.

MHO is that we will have 1 more small box and couple of blisters and that's it.

And an app with regular updates.

Only thing that will make sense to me (and i guess only to me :)) is for them to create a second core box, similar to one they did for X Wing, for episode 7.

For Rebels and Rogue one - they can create separate games, i think they will only go forward not backwards.

And in truth, I wouldn't mind seeing a "2nd Edition" Core box that either fixed some of the balance issues in the original Core Campaign, or just started over from scratch with all new tiles, heroes, and enemies set in the prequel trilogy. That would give us another three years of content easily, but again there is zero evidence that either of those things will come to pass.

Nah, I think they could really easily do Rebels and Rogue One with this core set.

If they do a second core, I'm sure it would be for the New Trilogy- or less likely, prequels.

noooo, no second edition! They can fix all the balance issues with just releasing new cards. And if there are campaign dis balances, they can fix that as well by releasing new campaign (similar what they did for Descent 2nd ed.)

Don't get me wrong, i would love everything and anything that they will add to this game. Especially with app, where i would be able to play solo (i hope).

I actually think the prequels are more likely than the new ones. If FFG does the prequels, then they don't have to check with Disney about every little thing to see if they are in line with storylines that haven't even been completed yet. Doing the sequels risks that they spend months developing and designing enemies who's look could change drastically or be cut completely.

There won't be prequels, there was an interview a while ago where the answer for the question about prequels was no, we are not going to do them (don't ask for link, i don't have it :) )

True- but if they spend a year or two (or more) first working on Rebels/R1/Legends/Canon content, then we'll have at the very least Episode VIII.

I am a cynic. And things change. They are not doing the prequels. They are never doing the prequels. Until they do the prequels.

Well that's pretty cool- feels good to not be forgotten about :D

I wonder if we're getting this preview today because there's more news for IA on Friday. Must not hype, must not hype...

Nice! 000 looks cool and is beefy for his points. New attached command cards seems like an interesting mechanic

Note: there seems to be a typo, BT has pierce 2 on the card but the article said Pierce 1

These guys are gonna be punishing, especially since they're relatively cheap (especially with the Nemesis deck)...

I wasn't sold on BT's Missile Salvo, but now that I know he becomes focused before each of his three attacks... I mean, he's gonna be able to deal a huge punch with a single attack, or some pretty moderate punches with a salvo- but he's gonna be a trooper group annihilator with that salvo+Blast 1 once per attack.
