It's FRIDAY!!!!! Who will we see spoiled today??

By FSD, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I wonder if some of the delay is related to one of the IA designers resigning.

Originally I was hoping the delay was because of the app and they wanted to create the suspense, but apparently not. I expect we will get the Hera article on Tuesday to follow the Tuesday news day with 2 week gaps cycle.. and then a mid May release. So I guess that would set the table for May 4th to be a good announcement day and still get the announcement made before the next wave hits shelves.

at this point, i think they are waiting for APP too announce together with next smal box... don't know...but to me, it looks like next box will come by EOY. And maybe we will get some small blister packs in between (some new blisters, not the ones they already announced)...

Which is again OK, look at Runebound, almost everybody believed the game was dead and they announced the best expansion ever for that game...

Ya the co-op/solo play for Runebound means I will probably have to pick it up. My groups really enjoyed Descent 2nd, MoM 2nd and LOTR LCG.. FFG does co-op right.

I haven't tried Arkham LCG yet, but it looks fun as well.

My Arkham LCG together with all expansions is on order. And i have everything from IA except couple of blisters that i'll get eventually . Enough from me, considering FFG release policy :)

It's Tuesday, who are we going to see spoiled today? :)

Haven't been on since Friday, but rest assured I threw some mad shade (in my mind) at Destiny on Friday. :P

Hera and Chopper inc! Then two weeks till Endor announcement! is my pure speculation.. should be right about Hera at least.

Yep every 2 weeks, but looks like they are a little late today, i guess holiday impact :)

RPG news... where is our Hera preview!!!

seems like imperial assault is the last thing ffg are thinking in....

Alright I've got to much time on my hands today, did a rough count of the articles for the past month, this is skewed based on the dates selected but I didn't look before choosing a month, however Armada would be on the list if I went back one day. I broke them up in to categories of preview, announcement, event, special and available. And yes I agree this is totally over the top. Here are the totals:

10 Rune Wars (no surprise here)
7 GOT LCG (4 previews)
6 X-Wing (3 of these were about events)
6 Net Runnner (best mix of previews, anouncements and available)
4 SW Destiny (they are have just been kicking out bi weekly previews of each faction similar to IA)
4 SW RPG
4 Arkham LCG
4 Net Runner
3 Imperial Assault (2 previews and 1 skirmish map announcement)
3 LOTR LCG
2 GOT Board Game
1 MOM 2nd (This was just a special article talking about the design of the game)
1 RuneBound (announcing the co-op play)
1 SW LCG (The real outcast of the Star Wars family apparently)

So what I learned from this is 'at least we aren't the LCG!' And basically IA is right in the middle of the pack, if they gave us the Hera preview today we'd be at the average 4 and in the same company as some very popular titles. So in closing 'the kids are alright'.

Also, 35% of the total articles are Star Wars articles, and that number would be higher if this wasn't release month for RuneWars. So imagine if you were a customer who just didn't care about SW at all! Your frustration would be through the roof.

who resigned (which one) and does anyone know why and/or which game (campaign vs. skirmish, i thought they had their own developers for each)

what that will do to our releases?

Campaign and Skirmish are very tightly knit, so I would say it has always been an Imperial Assault team, and not separate games. Listen to the Boardwars.eu designer interviews from last year for some more bits of information (and Team Covenant interviews).

Time will tell.

Todd is dutifully answering your rules questions. What Paul's doing now is a few google searches away.

:D

I guess Tuesday isn't our day anymore... long live the Wednesday news?

Long live any news...

At least we got all that cool new info out of the Star Wars celebration...

Looks like to day is an announcement day, but it's early enough in the day that there should be another article later on. I've yet to see them do two days back to back with only one article.

The artwork on the 5 Rings cards looks pretty cool, actually. I just think that, outside of deckbuilding games like Dominion and Mage Knight, I'll probably never really get into card games again.

I'm a recovering Planeswalker, after all.

Something odd and strange is happening. 2 news in 2 days and nothing yet today... i guess they are giving some space for 5 rings, but can't recall they did the same for any other game...

Star Wars LCG got a hit today.. but its early enough we could still see another announcement this afternoon. Three one announcement days in a row would be a shocker.

I've noticed that Thursday announcements have only been about the new stuff released that day for the last few weeks. I think we'll sadly have to abandon our baited breath waiting for new announcements on Thursdays for the foreseeable. But I guess that also makes Thursdays less distressing if we *know* we're getting nothing... A bit...

There's always Friday to look forward to, though!

Plus, if it's a Friday announcement this week, we don't have to change the name of the thread right away (so many alternatives have been proposed).

I didn't go through the full 84 pages of threads, but it looks like we are in this one is in the running for "most replies" at 447 (wait now 448). From what I can tell first place is Pre-assembled skirmish maps, which must be one hell of a map discussion:)

Note: this is the kind of @#$% you post when they don't give us enough IA news.

Edit: OK Sarastro's painting is like 1400+ which is not surprising given that he's a Jedi.

I gotta say that the lack of news, especially considering Celebration just been, is extremely frustrating.

At the moment, all we had articles about are;

Imperial Droids & Jawa

Upcoming known items;

Hera & Chopper.
Maybe the IA App. (still being worked on?)

I think it's pretty clear that they're prioritising other products to hype those, but hating the lull at the moment.
