We have plenty to get us though
But I think this also keeps hope alive for our SSD!
Once Imps get an SSD, a new thread will pop up claiming it's more proof we need scum because EaW:FoC stole a SSD...

They briefly stole the Eclipse.
They blew up a SSD.
I think this announcement provides more support for Scum as a third faction for Armada.
Not much more, but still more than there was.
Which was very little.
It went from 0.001% to 0.01%
0.01%?
I think you underestimate their chances.
Honestly, I know the arguments against including Scum in Armada. Aside from the one about scale, I remember them from the X-Wing forum, and people had to eat their hats. It's one thing to not want Scum to happen, it's another thing to believe that it won't happen.
Scum would sell, and FFG is in the business of selling miniatures and fancy cards to people. Why wouldn't they do it?
But anyway, I was really excited to learn of the C-ROC. I've been hosting a number of epic-play events and even tournaments. I want the Scum faction people to have their huges, even if I (as Empire-exclusivist) won't be buying it. I just like seeing them on the table.
Now with Corellian Conflict, I want to integrate Armada with X-Wing (and Imperial Assault), and bringing piracy and resource smuggling into the game as a form of spoiler faction with unique objectives.

So, when should the announcement article for Wave 6 arrive? That's the next thing we should expect, right?

GAMA Trade Show is March.... 13th? I think.
That would mirror Wave 3's announcement last year.
I she with dras I don't expect there to be first half of year releases.
If we got a campaign pack with new titles, objectives, and/or squadron variants and a single wave each year, I think I'd be pretty happy. If the World Cup is any indication, list diversity is extremely healthy right now. CC is so good that I'd rather have more of that than more ships.

Amen to this. I would much prefer this than a ton of stuff like Xwing got. Stuff that wasn't balanced and, IMO, doesn't fit well. I like campaigns and a single wave a year as well. However, I would like more articles of various kinds.
Single wave + Campaign would be fine with me, too - and probably much more positively received by my wife.
So long as the support is there - including articles fairly often - that would be fine.
Two waves of two items each, plus a campaign, would probably be my ideal.
How about a campaign with an SSD? Imps have to protect supply lines/orbital shipyards until round X when it completes while the Rebels must attack said supply lines and shipyards to delay or weaken the SSD for the final confrontation.
That would be a great way to add a new campaign, and get an SSD in the game.
It doesn't solve the inherent question in regards to the SSD, though:
Is it large and glorious, and thus, campaign (or epic) mechanics only
Or is it small and neutered to fit the 400pt standard game ?
That's not for me to decide. But I did create a vessel for it to be integrated into Armada.
And I really don't care if it's tournament legal or not. I'd never bring one to a tournament. Activation advantage is too good right now.
I'm in the camp that wants it in the game and thinks it will, at least points wise, be our version of epic and not be 400 point games.
But I feel its still a bunch of considerations to make... I mean, otherwise, all you're basically saying is "They could totally have a SSD..." and not much else...
What else will be in there to appeal to the Rebel players? Is it something that you're likely to see just for the campaign itself? Is it packaged with the campaign, or a separate purchase? Is the campaign replayable, or disposable like Conflict?
Considerations to make, and I feel without at least tactit thought to those considerations - you're not really providing a mechanism to integrate it into Armada...
Your keyword there was "integrate".
SSD on the reverse of the campaign map.
Essentially battlefield terrain.
Tied to objectives.
Ideally those objectives are standard objectives, and not campaign specific (though that would give more room mechanically).
Satisfy nobody, and do it well. ![]()
Well yea I'm not providing any info on it being added because I have no idea how to do that. I don't know how FFG designs ships or balances them. That is the critical part to have it a part of tournament play or campaign.
Give me that info/calculator and I can create a SSD worthy of its status.
I gave an idea that would be a cool way to add the SSD to Armada. Like the Massing of Sullest added large ships to the game. It would be neat to see a campaign where the Rebels fight the construction of a SSD, while the Imps try to protect it, and the campaign culminates in a final battle where the Imps must field the SSD because the Rebels bring their entire fleet to destroy it.
Let me make a thread and let's see what the community comes up with.

I think this week is going to give us something. We have already had Destiny and X-Wing with huge announcements , and it's not even Friday yet!
I'm ready for a Super Star Destroyer 2-pack - Executor and Eclipse, MSRP only $499.99 ! Must come pick it up from the warehouse with a flatbed truck.
I'm hoping/foreseeing a strategy article.
Also, when is the next FAQ likely to drop?
I just can't make up my mind.
Like... in my head I KNOW that the Quasar is coming. And I KNOW that the Hammerhead is coming... I have felt like those two were almost 100% going to be in the next wave... But now I KNOW the MC-75 is coming... so IF the next wave is only a 2 ship wave, will the rebels get the MC-75 or the Hammerhead? Also there is the Brahtok Dornean Gunship as well, but that wasn't exactly prominently featured - so while I do expect it, I feel it is lower on the priority.
So IF the next wave is only 2 ships I am certain it will be the Quasar for Empire. But what if it's 4 ship? Is it too early to see a new ISD? I'm dying of curiosity trying to think of how they will do another ISD.
the MOST interesting question though, is what ELSE? Suppose it's NOT an ISD. What else? Tector? Venator? Carrion Spike? Kaz? SSD??!?!? I'm dying of curiosity! The ultimate letdown is if the next wave is only 2 ships and some more squadron packs. Seriously I'm drowning in squadrons right now - please no more squadrons.
I honestly don't expect new Squadrons anytime soon. There's a TON here right now... And they're mostly fresh and new.
I hope there is some news between now and GAMA. But I expect it to be either OP stuff, FAQs or basic tactics things.
Actual preview will probably come at GAMA.
I'd like to see a Brah'tok gunship flotilla, Small based Hammerhead Corvette, and Large Based MC-75 for the Rebels
A medium based Quasar Fire for the imperials is a must. Beyond that... ISD I model? Acclamator? Venator? Tector?
Yeah, we're running into a pronounced problem for Imps. How do you keep expanding their line, but keep them thematic? The ISD is so iconic that the movies have never really needed to do anything else. Hell, part of the reason so many people are clamoring for the SSD is because it's literally the only other Imperial capital ship in the movies. Even the other canon sources are running a little short. Rebels has already given us the Arquitens and the Interdictor. The Quasar is the only thing still remaining from that source I can think of. Some other stuff has popped up in the novels, but the problem still remains: how much more can the Imperial list grow and still be the Empire?
Tarkin was overseeing a new cannon ship being built in catalyst.... Can't remember what it was though
The Qaz class Star Destroyer was mentioned in Catalyst, as well. And there is nothing known about that beyond its name.
Pablo Hidalgo has said it is an "exciting blank slate" for any Author who wanted to pick it up.;
Dras what were your thoughts on catalyst.
